Four Seasons Supermarket

Terrible customer service! I and my partner used to shop there pretty much every week for the last 6 months. Today, after leaving the shop, I realised that they hadn’t given me back the right change. 5£ were missing. When I came back and explained them the mistake they had made, they first denied it, then when I suggested they look at the cash balance or video camera to see that they hadn’t given me the right change, they refused. They blamed me for not having noticed the mistake immediately and insulted me.
I felt extremely uncomfortable and angry that they would treat a loyal customer like that. I will never go back there again.

I’m not sure this place is really up for a 5 stars as there is nothing special to it outside being the only one in that corner of London.
Yes if you live in Lordship park Rd there is this or a long walk to Church Street, end of Manor Road or the Costcutter under Kings Crescent Estate.

Everything you want in a corner shop: groceries, fresh produce, dried goods, some nice imports like olives and stuffed vine leaves, fresh bread, cheeses, coffee and tea, and a good selection of household supplies. A good combination of the basics and interesting imports, similar to Arsenal Food and Wine.

It’s a corner shop but one that gulp, we seem to spend a small fortune in all too often. And here’s for why. It’s the only grocers, off licence and ‘general store’ around these parts (if you don’t count the dodgy Costcutter just up the road). Turkish owned and run the selection out front is not vast but always tends to be fresh. And unlike many other corner shop supermarkety places like this you can actually make a meal from things bought here. They have a great selection of nuts and yum, roasted corn. They are erratic with the bread but when they have it were always pleased to see the brown wholemeal unbranded bread that makes great toast and is so much nicer than Hovis or something similar. Their selection of wines is far from imaginative but you can’t have everything can you. They make up for it with not a huge choice but a good one, of whiskeys. And more often than not there’s a friendly smile and a bit of light banter to be had out of the guys who work there. My only quip is that, more likely than not because of the lack of competition, most things are a little more expensive than anywhere else. I guess my Ma was right when she said you can’t have everything. Oh and they close rather early, between 10 and 11. C’est la vie innit.
