My two younger sisters and I went for a nice birthday treat for my 18th birthday. It was bank holiday Monday around 2:00pm. We were told a 15 min wait but fortunately we were seated quite quickly. However, the person who seated us saw that I had a young child with me(3 years old) and there was no napkin an cutlery, not even a colouring book for her. We waited for around 10 minutes as waiters walked straight past an it seemed as if we were forgotten. I managed to summon a waiter who was very friendly, the males were a lot friendlier then the females. We ordered garlic dough balls, it didn’t take long to come, but I have ordered these before in the Kingston branch an it was a large amount an very nice, but this time, it was quite cold, too squiffy an completely not what I expected. I ordered a Philly cheeseburger which looked dry but tasted better then it looked. My sisters bbqchicken pizza also tasted much better then it looked. We ordered two milkshakes, a banana chocolate and a chocolate one. Then I realised there were these small hairs in both the milkshakes. I notified a waitress and she did not apologise at all and I found her attitude displeasing considering there were hairs in our food. The next milkshakes took 15 mins to come an no one was sent to reassure us, I had to ask. When the bill came they had charged me for the next two milkshakes but half price when they should have been free. They said they were banana seeds, but that was the first I was hearing of this banana seed theory. And why would there be banana seeds in a choc milkshake. Not going back there, prefer the Pizza Hut, much better service and better food.

Not much choice in Canada Water for places to eat unless you head to Greenwich or Central, so have ended up here a few times. Foods ok. Overpriced for what it is though. Food just tastes like reheated freezer food. Probably a bit harsh but it always disappoints me. Serves American dinner food. Fun atmosphere for kids and really handy for the cinema just across the car park. Staff are friendly and choice is good. Quality just isn’t there. Shame.

This place used to be great but since their main competitor across the parking lot closed down sadly they suffered in quality … Perfect representation of basic Economic principles … Sadly they are the only real choice for food around the Surrey quays Odeon. If you do it here I suggest going for the US or Italian classics(aka burger or pizza) they will be the best value and quality for your buck. If you don’t want to ruin your mood please do not order the healthy stake and salad combo it has to be the most disappointing one I ever had(small, chewy and the salad had weird topping). Desserts are ok in general.

Monday afternoons at Frankie & Benny’s is ‘Monday Madness’ or something along those lines. In short, it’s a 20% discount, and a lot of screaming kids. The place I was hoping to go to had shut down, and we really wanted apple pie(with custard) so F&B’s was the best bet. We hadn’t eaten either so we figured we could pick something quick up too. Except quick wasn’t what the staff at Frankie and Benny’s Surrey Quays had in mind for us. We were seated and our waitress took our order… and that was the last we saw of her for 45 minutes. After waiting what seemed to be an age, we tracked down the waitress, who assured us our drinks were on the way and apologised. And nothing again. For another 15 minutes. Other tables had come and gone by now. We hadn’t even gotten our freakin’ drinks! Finally our milkshakes came(«Oh I’m so sorry. the milkshakes take a little longer to make.») after an hour, and our food came out a little while after that. After the most unappetising burgers ever, we were too disheartened and annoyed to even stick around for the originally desired apple pie and custard(which we went next door to Tesco and purchased instead). This would have been a 1 star rating, but I don’t give those out easily. The waitress apologised and took our drinks off the bill. She’d already removed the service charge from the bill too, probably pre-empting that I’d ask. Shocking dining experience. Will not repeat.

So this is where I take my daughter before or after I take her to the Odeon. It does a reasonable job of being an Italian American theme restaurant. The food is generally reliable and never spectacular. I’ve been here a few times, mostly because, for kids, its a better option than the other places nearby. And they get a great children’s fun pack to play with. This time I had the crab cake as I wasn’t hungry… and it’s a good job I wasn’t. It was tiny, soggy, had no discernible crab content and rested on a few sprigs of lamb’s lettuce with some sweet chilli jam that seemed burnt. It’s like it had been microwaved. They had run out of apple juice and as they only have two juices this is not good. The service was fine and friendly, if we hadn’t been in a rush to see Rio 2, I’d have complained. It really was awful. It’s not normally this bad, so I’ll come here again, but this is the last chance for F&B’s.

To be fair, shouldn’t have been there in the first place. But was even worse than I thought it’d be. I had to send my food back it was so inedible. The staff, credit to them, agreed to replace it with something different, but even the plain pizza I got still left me feeling sick. Hugely overpriced for quality and very poor service — the staff made their best effort, but they were massively understaffed.

Comfy booth, friendly service, infinite tea, abundant kitsch Americana: seriously what’s not to love about this place? I swung by for a vegetarian breakfast. The food certainly did the job. They won’t be getting Michelin stars any time soon, but for £5 it’s decent value. They also give you a free breakfast after your fourth visit. F+B: see you soon!

Menu is great… there is always something for everyone. Prices are too high. Side dishes 4 £ is more me expensive than in 5 star hotels in the city. Quick service. Tables close by the door cold during the winter season. Burgers are great. Overall: prices too high, food ok, service good

Breakfast is alright and staff nice although from time to time something is missing from menu. Love it Marathon day as you can see all the characters run by.

I was encouraged to visit by the restaurants«Scores on the doors» hygiene ratings. Food was interesting. Had a penne carbonara and a lasagne. Portion of vegetables cooked nicely and good portions. Service with a smile and there really was something for everyone on the menu.

I like the burgers. They’re cooked to expectation. The meat is not bad quality and they come with a good portion of fries. I like this F&B’s because I can get a quick meal before rushing into the Surrey Quays Odeon for my movie. Works really well for me for a half price(Thank you Orange!) cinema ticket on Wednesdays. The waiters are nice, but they always look so bored and forced to work, that I always feel like leaving some change. They’ll get you your order and then they’ll disappear and you can’t even get mad because they just look so sad. The crowd is not the best, and not most inspiring, so make sure you go with a purpose(like catching a movie) or with company. Don’t bother getting cocktails. Deserts are OK. Avoid if possible.

Average restaurant in Surrey quays. Staff here is friendly but can be slow at times. Food here is Ok and offer value for money, especially when ordering from the lunch time menu. However this place does get VERY busy at times and can become very loud during the evenings. This is true for almost all restaurants in Surrey quays now though. Overall a good place to dine. Party gatherings also seem to be very popular here.

As far as I can tell the possibilities of where to eat out of an evening in Rotherhithe are more or less limited to Surrey Quays Leisure park. Please do correct me if I’m wrong as I have 3 hour responsibility for an 11 year old who lives near here once a week and we are always open to new ideas. We’ve tended to alternate between here and nearby Old Orleans and Pizza Hut(I know about Café East but I can’t get her in there). In comparison to its neighbours Frankie and Bennies fairs equally well. They are friendly, accommodating to children and always busy. I would say they are overpriced for the quality of the food and overall experience but to be honest they are obviously surviving explained by all the diversions of Rotherhithe –bowling, cinema and bingo being available on the same complex. When you have a child to keep entertained thank god for Surrey Quays Leisure Park.

Really nice in here. Never had a bad experience food wise. Although it does get busy at weekends and you feel like you’re being rushed which isn’t why you came out for lunch. I now stay away at weekends.

American expat kids will love the bottomless soft drinks and the dessert that is included in this restaurant’s extensive kid menu. The adult food was so-so, but having my kids happy made the visit to this restaurant a wonderful experience. Prior to the flight back to Europe we came across another Frankie & Benny’s location at Gatwick and guess where the kids wanted to eat? You guess it, Frankie & Benny’s. The final bills at this UK chain made for good value.

In all fairness this is a nice average NYC diner — food is ok, nothing special but edible. Interior is just about right, they really made it look like a diner. Beware: No paper towels in the bathrooms!!! Newyorkers do not use germblowers!!! Service could be a LOT better — really slow, not attentive(no one refilled our water), then all of a sudden they they gave us the check without us asking for it and we just automatically paid. Next thing is the manager comes and she asks us to leave b/c there were others waiting for our table!!! UNBELIEVABLE. I’ve been there a few times — after this, never going back.

Frankie & Benny’s isn’t in the most appealing location and is perhaps a little awkward to get to but is great if you need to go somewhere after the cinema. It is cheap, cheerful, with a great atmosphere and decent choice on the menu. The staff are always happy and bubbly and the service definitely comes with a smile! The burgers are more than substantial and the pasta dishes(particularly the Penne Alfredos) are lovely and come highly recommended. The restaurant is very good value for money, and a brilliant place to take the kids for a treat — they will definitely love the milkshakes! Frank & Benny’s has a great balance of being busy but not too crowded that you struggle to hear your conversation.

Cheap, cheerful, nice atmosphere and decent choice on the menu. Service is always good and with a smile I like their burgers are substancial and I always enjoy a good pasta dish in there. The Penne Alfredos comes highly recommended. The place is cheap, cheap, cheap! And I mean in terms of cost. Very good value for money, a real nice place to take the kids and family out too. It’s never too busy and you can always hear the people you go with. I really enjoy going to this New-York/Italian chain of restaurants.

Food on a plate and that’s about it. This is totally a no frills restaurant and that is totally what you should expect. We went here first when it had only just opened, it used to be a fatty Arbuckle’s which was really good. I had the steak, which was very small and the peppercorn sauce I ordered with it tasted like water, and had no actual peppercorns in it(even weatherspoons does that) So I thought it was because it had just opened. We went back a few months later, and it was a little better, the food was nice and reasonable price, but it was just food on a plate, I had the mixed grill and there was no presentation. So if you want simple food its good, also very good for kids. They really do cater for them!

Frankie & Benny’s is a New-York/Italian chain of restaurants. I have only been to the one in Surrey Quays but I go there very often because the food is really good: the burgers in particular. The meat actually looks and tastes real. Believe me it’s worth the price(around £7). Their pastas are nice too particularly the Penne Alfredos. My favourite dish is Sister Roasaria’s Lamb Shank.
