Though the quality of the shoes are excellent it seems as if this place has too many varieties and not enough stock of their more popular items. I’ve been on a waiting list 5 times(3 times I went to the store just off of Sloan Square to check for availability and speak to the staff and be added to the waiting list directly) for a pair of black shoes and never received a call, email, or the product. Not again. So long French Sole.

Cute little boutique just down the street from the eccentric Selina Blow Shop. The shoes are ever so popular among the Sloane rangers. Young girls and tourist galore are queuing to enter the tiny store. Overcrowded with French décor, boxes of shoes and people. Its sounds fabulous, surrounded by beautiful shoes and pictures and colours but in reality it is very stressful! The assistants are not very polite and obviously stressed by the people demanding to try shoes in every colour and size and walking away with only one pair of shoes! When French Sole first began it was more exclusive as the shoes were only sold by mail order and subsequently in their first two stores, the one on Ellis street and one Fulham. However now you can also buy them in Top Shop Selfridges, House of Fraser, Shoe Studio, Bentalls, John Lewis and many other stores therefore everyone has them and for the price you pay it is a shame. However it is a grand success story for the designer and founder Jane Winkworth.
