Full Stop Bar

I popped in here for lunch and wondered if perhaps it was closed, as there was literally no one else in here besides myself and the bartender. Luckily, they were open, and I was promptly seated with both a drinks and food menu.
The lunch menu is very limited, with only one sandwich option and toastie option. I went for the cheeseboard and a blueberry amaretto sour. I love that everything here is locally sourced and the cheeseboard was no exception. I would go as far as to say that it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. The Brie was wonderfully creamy and the Stilton was out of this world! I was also given two hard cheeses, along with oat crackers, chutney and pickles.
Two other people arrived while I was eating and it was obvious the bartender couldn’t cope with more than one person at a time and as a result of them ordering toasties, my drink arrived long after I’d finished my food. However, it was sweet and easy drinking, albeit very small.
A whole star is given to the amazing playlist of 90s grunge bangers that provided the background music to my lunch; Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden & Smashing Pumpkins!
Would come back for the cheeseboard alone, but maybe order a beer next time, the cocktail took ages!

I popped in here in the evening whilst killing time before a Unilocal event. I really liked the cider selection they had. It was a very dark bar, with a nice atmosphere. The staff were friendly but the set-​up seemed weird. I wasn’t sure if I had to go to them, or they would come to me. In the end due to lack of time I went to them. They were very engaging, but I still felt slightly awkward. There were enough people in the venue that I was able to relax and eavesdrop to pass the 30 mins that I had spare before heading off out. It was in all fine, I think that if I had been there with friends my review might be more thorough. So, my apologies about that.

Full Stop Bar is pretty damn swanky, full stop. No no I won’t stop there… We had reserved an area here for an event and as I entered I was greeted with a smile, asked if the area was suitable (I agreed in turn) and then he offered me a seat and brought over the menu. Great start.
For a coffee shop/​bar they have a great selection of cocktails, beers, wines and ciders along with tea, coffee and juices. The vibe itself is relaxing, very Shoreditch cool but not over showy which was a welcome change.
For nibbles we gave the grilled cheese toasties whirl — a few regular, a couple with extra chorizo and a couple with a side of avocado (I know I know, I need to stop). Being a mahussive cheese lover myself I can honestly say that their special cheese mix (we don’t know the cheeses) with leeks, onions and garlic is by far one of the best I have tasted and both the chorizo and avocado complimented the sandwich well.
The only thing I will say is the avocado wasn’t quite ready yet and was still a little hard but that’s a minor point really.
All in all a lovely evening was had. I’d be intrigued to see how the night and day differs in regards to clientele and whether businesses effects it’s simple charm but that’s a review for another day…

Had a nice cheese butty there, the owners super nice and made the time of day for me. You don’t often get that. Good tea too!

I ordered avocado on toast and it took an hour. Pretty slow on food and not very happy staff. The food was good but everything came at different times they also messed up my order and forgot the smoked salmon. The coffee was good. I’d skip the breakfast and grab a coffee.

Nestled in a busy Sunday market, this brick lane spot was more than an excellent find for brunch.
Quite a simple menu but they’ve made sure the quality of the grub does the talking. Few strong muesli options with fresh fruit juices but it’s the avocado on sourdough that grabbed me. Very decent portion sizes, two thick cut slices with sundried toms and smoked salmon, perfect for the lasting effects of yesterday evenings beers. A colleague went for the bacon roll, of EPIC proportions. Huge freshly toasted roll with streaky bacon slices and a dollop of HP, a classic that’s done more than well!
The coffee selection is also a grabbing point. The long black was great, smooth and hit the spot. Also some strong breakfast cocktails on offer, espresso martinis are made for Sunday’s!
In all a great find and excellent chill out spot for when the busy brick lane is getting a little too much!

A veces (pero sólo a veces) lo mejor de una ciudad completamente desconocida es dejarte llevar por la intuición y la improvisación, por la magia del momento… ¡Y zas! en ocasiones hasta tienes la suerte de descubrir sitios como éste.
Pasamos dos veces por la puerta de Full Stop Bar. Estábamos echando un vistazo al mercadillo de Brick Lane, pero el hambre nos apremiaba y el sitio que nos habían recomendado (aunque tenía muy buena pinta) estaba a reventar. Finalmente, decidimos a entrar a este sitio que todavía tenía algunas mesas libres y pintaba bien.
No nos fijamos del todo en el precio, aunque dábamos por hecho que sería tan caro como los otros sitios que habíamos visitado ya a la hora del brunch en Londres. Finalmente, nos sorprendió la carta, pues no era del todo caro (siendo lo que era y dónde era) y encima estaba riquísimo. Mi acompañante se pidió una especie de tosta con guacamole, queso y tomate seco, que estaba sorprendentemente buena. Por mi parte no tenía demasiado apetito ni presupuesto, por lo que opté por un trozo de brownie. Me lo pensé mucho, pero me dejé llevar por el instinto, y es que tenía muy buena pinta.
¡Qué rico estaba! Muy jugoso, con un toque muy especial… Voló del plato.
En general, el ambiente del sitio era bastante bueno, con una decoración chula y muy de moda en todo el mundo. Rollo sofás y mesas vintage. La música quizá unos puntos por encima de mi gusto, pero era buena música, por lo que no molestaba y se podía hablar perfectamente. Y encima no recuerdo que el café estuviese insípido, como en la mayoría de sitios que visité en este último viaje.

Domingo, apenas unas horas después de despertar y con el Brick Lane hasta arriba de gente visitando el mercadillo, nosotros íbamos a la caza y captura de algo rico, sabroso y no demasiado caro, que conociendo la zona es como dar con un mirlo blanco.
Así que entre las recomendaciones que vimos en Unilocal y que el local no estaba muy lleno, decidimos entrar aquí a por un café y algo con lo que mojarlo. La sorpresa fue mayúscula cuando, tras pagar, nos llegó a la mesa uno de los mejores brownies que hemos probado nunca. Riquísimo: esponjoso, sabroso y para nada pesado. Una delicia de tres libras y pico que merece la pena.
Yo opté por una tostada de crema de queso, aguacate y tomate seco sobre pan rústico que también estaba muy buena. Eso, acompañado de un capuchino y un latte respectivamente, nos dieron las fuerzas más que suficientes para afrontar ya una media mañana con energía y ganas para seguir paseando por el mercadillo, viendo cosas antiguas, encontrando rincones únicos de esta zona de la ciudad y disfrutando de Londres como siempre.
También tienen WiFi, que para los que venimos del extranjero sin tarifa de datos es la mar de apañado para seguir mirando mapas, rutas y recomendaciones de Unilocal

Seriously though, rock music, modern rock music, playing loud like it should. A nice change to the spotify coffeehouse playlist that seems to be everywhere.
And an orange chocolate chip gluten free loaf slice, that is so good I’m already planning to make it myself, but I didn’t have to today because they did an incredible job– bonus points to them.
And yeah, though the 18yo guy thought he screwed up by not makin it soy, I assured him I ordered no such thing, and I would happily take my milky drink.

The place is cute, nice music and good atmosphere to work ! I had a coffee there a couple of times but it’s mostly because the location is ideal (right on brick lane) ! Other than that, the place is a bit too dark and it’s usually empty !
Maybe I’ll try it out for a brunch !

This is a nice atmosphere to work during the day — chill music, lots of table space, the right balance between quiet and active. The staff is friendly. But, it’s really too bad that the WiFi is at an infuriating state of unreliability, the Americano tastes burned, and the tea is boring. All the other reviews on here are fantastic, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing.
I wouldn’t come back here with the intention of getting any work done, which is sad because I like the atmosphere a lot. Maybe I’ll try it some other day in the evening for drinks.

This place is great! Very high quality coffee including fresh cold brewed coffee. Decent selection of delicious snacks and sandwiches. If you are not in the mood for coffee, this is one of the few places with craft beer.
Free wifi. Comfortable seating. Mildly hipster atmosphere.

Never heard of this place (probably not a bad thing!) but I decided to pop in on spec and I’m so glad I did. Lovely staff crafted my a very nice flat white and smiled genuinely. In stark contrast perhaps to Brick Lane Coffee just up the road this place was populated by only women customers, again about half full, but just as with BLC all had their laptops open and most occupied single tables. Maybe coincidence or maybe just a preferred vibe.
I settled into the kind of dodgy but comfy sofa we’d have all thrown out 10 years ago, but these days it’s what you find in so many coffee shops. Wifi was good and the coffee the good side of OK: not the best ever but perfectly acceptable.
I felt very relaxed here and despite the dim lighting, and the décor being almost overwhelmingly eclectic, it kind worked. Would go back for sure. Recommended!

Eclectic to say the least. If you’re into Haphazard Bohemianism then this is your place. You may have to sip your macchiato in the corridor, but who cares?!

Great beer. Good coffee. Nice service…
Why two stars? Owner a jerk. We had our empty bags from the bagel spot on the table. Comes over and lectures us I get it, no outside food. But we don’t need passive aggressive speeches like we have done some great moral ill. We bought a bunch of expensive drinks (we hot more than most of the other customers), we were not making a big show of eating outside food, we immediately tried to apologies but he was too busy being rude and condescending. Would have had a few more drinks instead left immediately and wanted to make this note.
The well known bagel shops are an opportunity for this business. I didn’t go there for the food, neither did many other customers. But I was getting many drinks and would have gotten more. They may be angry at the bagel place taking their orders but its not a substitute good. Anyway I could go on and describe the exact approach, needless to say it was not a polite «I am sorry we don’t allow outside food» (which would be fine and understood).

I don’t know what it is about this street but I just can’t get into all things ‘Brick Lane’ but despite my best efforts to give it the side-​eye, Full Stop is really lovely and has warmed the bottom of my heart at least to venture down the first two blocks.
There’s a nice café-​style with some cosy seating and booths that makes it feel like you could spend an afternoon drinking coffees and ease into ciders while gossiping, people watching or studying.(yes, you might be able to do a bit of that, even in tourist ground-​zero).
Check it out, it’s cute.

What is it that makes full stop so great?
The cosy, relaxed atmosphere? The nice staff? The absolutely delicious milk that makes all their milk-​based coffee beverages taste heaven? The Square Mile coffee that is so well-​crafted and robust? The fact they are open late?
The SOY MATCHA LATTE with a drizzle of honey that has become my new obsession? Oh, also, they’ve recently started a ‘tab’ programme, where you can prepay for drinks (£15, £50, etc) and then just deduct from the tab. With a £15 purchase, they give you one free drink, so this basically just replaces their former frequent drinker card programme (its actually a better deal, buy 5, get 1 free, basically).
The food is really nice– great sandwiches in particular. Yea, they are basically something you could make at home, but they have top quality ingredients and for a good price as well. Around £6 for sandwich and beverage, generally.
My one gripe is that when you order a takeaway soy matcha latte (which normally comes in a tall glass if you have it in), it comes in a tiny takeaway cup that is half the volume of the beverage you’d get if you had it in. Same price. Kinda lame, guys.
Otherwise, this is probably my favourite study spot in London.

Let me say that again: A VERY COLD DRINK.
On a blistering day in London, it appeared no one wanted to serve me a nice, cold drink to quench my thirst. Milk tea from Milk & Pearl = tepid. Ew. An «iced» coffee from Bird & Ballard = melty. Blah.
So thank heavens for Full Stop. That Iced Jasmine Tea was nothing short of sublime. Kudos for having a «cold drinks» menu right in front to go with the weather. Coffee shops that cannot accommodate, I have to wonder about. Who drinks hot coffee when its nearly 30 degrees?!
Needed a bit to eat as well, and I was in luck with one of their specials: Ham and cheese sandwich on multi grain with cornichons was excellent.
Total for both, just £6!
Friendly staff, lots of seating. I will surely return for a lunch, to get some work done, and to get some hot beverages once this heat wave passes. Until then, well done on that big ol’ ice cube, I needed it.

Full Stop is great. I was looking for a place to sit and do some work for awhile and Full Stop was perfect for it. I ordered tea and a croissant and they were both tasty. There was hardly anyone in the café, so there was no excessive noise from other patrons (huge plus). The music volume was just fine for working, but would have been too loud to hold any business conference calls. The music played was a mix of indie bands and singer songwriters like The National, My Morning Jacket and Nick Drake. I will definitely go back to Full Stop again!

This has become my go-​to spot when I’m looking to enjoy my coffee in a café rather than taking it to go. The staff are friendly, the coffee is delicious and the ambiance is soothing. You have a mixture of couches, booths or two-​seater tables while listening to funky and eclectic music in the background.
Full Stop also makes their own granola, and if you are really hungry they can make a tasty sandwich to whet your hunger.

Before beginning my brief review of Full Stop, I first have to state that I hate my university library. While the building itself is unquestionably beautiful (thanks Norman Foster), I’ve come to associate it with nothing but misery and despair. Seriously, you literally have to drag me in there.
As a result, this year I’ve increasingly found myself looking for alternative study locations, and Full Stop is currently my favorite.
When other coffee shops on Brick Lane are packed, Full Stop is comparatively quiet. While other coffee shops on Brick Lane serve pretty great coffee, here the flat whites are made with Square Mile beans… enough said. When paired with a slice of carrot cake, there’s really not much to complain about.
The café itself is incredibly cosy, the wifi is free and fast, and the music played inside tends to be pretty solid. Who doesn’t like writing essays while listening to LCD Soundsystem and Radiohead…
While I can’t say I’ve brought myself to have a beer here, I’m certain the time will come, though out of celebration or desperation is a different matter entirely.
It may not be perfect, but when cruising up to the front door on my bike I know that wonderful coffee and a relatively relaxed work environment awaits, and that’s all I really need.
