Ginger & white is a really cute little coffee shop in Belsize park(also in Hampstead village). I’ve never been there during the week end so I have never had to wait for my slice of heaven: their carrot cake! The best I’ve ever had even if it is really really sweet(way too much for my taste in fact). I do not add the 5th star because everything is really expensive(even if it’s really good).

I enjoyed a glorious sunny afternoon at Ginger & White, sitting at one of their outdoor tables. The staff were so nice and advised me on their few vegan salads, as they have nothing vegan on their regular menu. The Americano was enjoyable, albeit expensive, but not near the best coffee in London. I appreciate that the café has wait service and also their carafes of mint water. All in all, the experience at Ginger & White was lovely.

Totally delicious. It is a lovely kind of bistrot, pretty intimate and full of light. The place is little, just a couple of tables inside and some outside but it worth the wait. I mean, what a brunch! 11£ each me and my best friend had something to drink and to eat. She had ine coffee with scrumbled eggs with salmon. Super fresh salmon and the eggs came from a farm the owner of the shop has. I had banana bread with ricotta, pineapple and crumble with hibiscus tea. Ricotta is made in the same farm and you can feel it! Is not the no-tasty-at-all tesco’s ricotta. It remind me of the ricotta i normally eat in mountain! Amazing! The waitres are super nice and lovely. They can suggest you what to eat if you can’t decide. By the way it can happen that you will be seated in the«common» table. that’s so cool! It is suuuper approved!

Walking into Ginger and White is a very cute, cosy café. It has a little balcony 2nd floor. Was hoping to get a table up there but being a busy Sunday morning wasn’t available. On the group floor is communal tables with large jugs of water, newspapers and magazines to read, and the Aussie in me love the jar of vegemite. :) Brunch menu had a good variety from eggs Benedikt to pancakes. I choice to Lemon ricotta pancakes with maple pecans and caramelised banana. It was really yummy, satisfied my sweet tooth without being overly sweet. Loved the pecans. Was a little disappointed on the size, there was more banana then pancake. My friends had avocado on toast with chorizo which looked amazing, they wished for seconds. Seemed to be the popular choice in the café with other patrols. I would had it myself if I didn’t have an allergy to avocado. Overall attentive service, food came out in good time. LOVED coffee, defiantly met my Melbourne standards. Only negative, coziness did become a little squishy with waitstaff having to lean over patrols to give food and collect dishes. I had to get out of my seat to let others in and out.

I’ve really tried to like this place but every time I go I’m let down. Lattes are weak and froth dissipates immediately – better than the chains but not nearly as good as the best independents. The café is always crowded and service can be patchy. They are listed as dog-friendly but actually are not. However, food and baked goods are tasty!

I mostly pop by for the sweets. Had a DELLLLLLICCCCIOUS brownie with a gooey center and raspberry fruit last week. My husband adored the ginger cake with frosting: a very heavy sugared ginger rim bowled him over. Another time I had a mini chocolate cupcake of which the frosting had the perfect balance of sweetness. I’ll come back over and over as the folks are friendly, smiling even when bustling around in a tiny space.

When you live in London for any period of time, you quickly realize that the mental image of the city you have created from a hodge-podge of literature and random Anglophilia does not actually exist. But then, sometimes, you find places; alleys, shops, parks, cafes, that are just as you’d imagined. Ginger & White, for me, is that sort of place. Sipping espresso while eating eggs and soldiers is a particularly happy place for me.

This is a nice little spot for a quick bite or leisurely chat with friends. They have an amazing array of baked goods, a talented barista and a daily changing specials board. There is a lot of competition for the AM crowd on England’s Lane, and they do stand out!

The best flat whites in the city. The menu in Belsize differs a bit from the Hampstead location. The avocado toast with chorizo and the banana bread with poached fruit and ricotta are both amazing. It’s a great place to hang out on the week days and can get a bit crowded over the weekend(and the service is a little spotty at times as a result.) Overall, a neighborhood gem!

G&W is a Belsize Park institution. Great food including original dishes and good atmosphere. Coffee is just ok.

Had the chorizo and crushed avocado on sourdough with scrambled eggs, a croissant and flat white. The food was great. Ambience was casual with lots of activity and shared seating– Had asked about a menu item that wasn’t on the menu being served at the time and was met with a puzzled look and awkward exchange. That was then followed by some confusion in our orders. Superb service may not be what you get(and reason for 3 instead of 4 stars) but the food is definitely worth a visit.

Cute & intimate venue, casual & lively(ie, not quiet). The food was all delicious and fresh, and we enjoyed all the spreads in the middle of the table with an excellent croissant. We found our server to be quite unpleasant though — though the server had mistaken our order, she was clearly unapologetic and even stood around expecting us to accept the wrong order instead of immediately offering to correct her mistake. We’ll go back but hope to have a different server.

Great little café with seating out the front for spring /summer. Breakfast is great — their eggs in particular are definitely a standout. Although food & coffee is nicer than other places around, it is slightly on the expensive side(2 coffees are over £5). my only other thing is that inside is very busy/manic and the layout isnt great so it takes ages to pay your bill and people are trying to serve customers over the top of you. but doesnt stop us for coming here at least once a month!

Fantastic, artisan coffee and yummy food! Try the chorizo and poached eggs with dukkah. The cakes and pastries look amazing too. Wifi is a bit temperamental, but I love the layout, service and vibe. I come here to work but it’s great for meeting a friend too.

Go for a quick catch-up with your girlfriend. Coffee decent but arrives lukewarm. Staff friendly. Quite a bit of clatter, loud mobile phones calls being taken, etc. which disqualifies this place for any«work from home», but a nice pit-stop never-the-less.

I was visiting from the States, and my friend brought me here for brunch /lunch. I was fully prepared for the sticker shock of London prices, but even being braced for higher prices, some of the dishes don’t warrant the price so make sure you choose correctly. I really liked the décor of the space — it was really cozy and homey, with 2 floors and wood décor. The menu has a nice selection of healthy choices, and it’s so healthy that they portion control it for you by giving you very small portions. I ordered a kale salad with smashed avocado for 8.5 pounds(~$ 14), which was really delicious and satisfying. It had tomatoes, pumpkin seeds for crunch, and was just plan delicious. Even though it was more expensive than what I’m used to in the States, I was happy with this and would get it again. If you see the frittata with salad on the menu, steer clear of ordering it, unless you don’t like to eat food, or like minuscule portions of food. I felt bad for her, because the frittata was the size of a small muffin. We were wondering where the rest of the food was, and had to order more so that my friend didn’t go hungry. All in all, this is a really cute place to get a bite to eat, tea, or coffee — just watch what other people order so that you don’t end up wondering where the rest of your food went.

I came here looking for an afternoon coffee and spot to sit and work for a few hours. Two things stand out: 1. Cool space divided over two floors in a loft-style setup. There’s a big communal table right in the window on the ground floor and a quieter, more intimate upstairs that looks out over the ground floor. Plenty of tables, seats, and nooks. 2. Really lovely service. I was greeted as soon as I walked in – granted, it was a quiet Monday afternoon and there weren’t that many people at the time. The server checked in on me regularly and I experienced no issues getting their attention. Impressive, given that he had to climb a flight of stairs just to check on me! However, the drawbacks: 1. Food is kind of pricy. I had a fish sandwich which I thought was pretty reasonable, but some of the other items on the menu did seem a little overpriced for what it was. 2. No internet. With some internet sleuthing I was able to figure out the wifi password of a neighboring establishment(hehehe) but given how perfectly this place was setup for working, it’s a shame they don’t have their own network available for customers.

The sort of neighbourhood café you hope to be a neighbour of. Well, who wouldn’t want to live in Belsize Park?! Ginger & White is a bit of the beaten track but teaming with locals popping in for the coffee fix. This is so obviously not Starbucks, and everyone seems happy to wait that little extra for their drink. With a bit of luck a seat will have become available by the time it’s ready!

I was only here for a takeaway latte, but: — there’s no place to stand while waiting for your coffee, so I spent the 10 minutes or so(yes, TENMINUTES for a latte) hovering over people eating their meals. — they have no flavourings which, while it doesn’t reflect on the quality of their coffee, does make me a bit sad. I do love a good vanilla latte. — the latte was all milk. Yes, I know a latte is primarily milk but a good latte(especially an unflavoured one) should at least taste a little bit of coffee. This tasted like maybe they tossed in half a shot of espresso(into the giant cup of my small latte) as an afterthought. Look. The cakes looked good(and of gargantuan portions). The food, too, looked good. But everyone was crammed together into two«family style» tables and looked a bit uncomfortable. My latte was basically lukewarm milk with an ever-so-slightly bitter aftertaste to let me know I had some espresso in there. It took a very long time to make my coffee, and the entire time I was blatantly in their way. And when I asked if there was a touch of sugar I could put in, the cup was snatched back so they could put in what they felt was the appropriate amount of sugar(I like .5 sugars in my cup, please). I’ve heard such good things about this place that I’d like to try it again — but maybe at a quieter moment.

The seating is community style so cozy up next to someone at one of the few tables upstairs or downstairs and make sure to check out what’s on special. I’ve been there twice and both meals included bacon. I’m not saying all of their meals include bacon… Brunch special was with bacon, egg, avocado and rocket on English muffin. Second time was the bacon, tomato and rocket on sourdough with chips. Both I would gladly order again. The flat white is delicious and the folks there are nice enough. I haven’t tried their pastries but it’s on my list. It’s a great place to just go have a cup of coffee or fill your belly with some well put together goodness.
