Above average India restaurant with a unique menu. If you are in for a curry and nan this is probably not the best place to go. However if you want something a bit more refined you should stop here. They have a good menu with lots of variety, the starters alone consist of 5 pages… Everything looks interesting. The best of all they have a great selection of vegetarian dishes… Guess what, it is not covered in oil! Probably the only Indian restaurant where it is not the case! Will definitely be back ;-)

Guglee is our local modern Indian restaurant and what a fab place it is! Cool, hip ambience, friendly staff and delicious food — never fail! Having said that, I am a creature of habit and tend to order the same dishes: chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, saag paneer, yellow dhal, garlic and pashwari nan, lamb rogan josh and pilau rice. Delicious!

Currently sat in a food coma, after just returning from Guglee. SO impressed. I’m fussy when it comes to curry’s, but this place really exceeded my expectations. We started off with the saag paneer and onion bahji’s(with the old faithful poppadoms on the side…) — followed by a lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka, rice and a cheese naan. The saag was so tasty, and the lamb rogan josh was a lamb shank which literally fell off the bone. We both came away absolutely stuffed, but more than happy with both the price(25 pounds each) and the friendly service. Would definitely return again soon.

Amazing service! We felt like the waiter is checking is all the time and answered all our questions(well, it is Indian food so there are a lot of questions…) I did ask for a mild meal and it was still very spicy but it was good, the best thing was their coconut sorbet dessert, it was perfect!!! It is an Indian restaurant but I felt in Thailand for a second ;-)

This is a restaurant chain that bases itself on being a trendy looking Indian Restaurant focussing more on the funky décor than the actual food. The pricing is as you would expect for the average Indian Restaurant… Maybe a tad inflated in pricing. I found the food to be… Boring… Lacking flavour and authenticity. This review isn’t written in haste, my opinion is based on two visits. I really can’t recommend anything about Guglee West Hampstead other than its a nice looking restaurant to have a business meeting when there is no actual focus on the food. So if that’s what you need then it’s applicable, the service is very pleasant and mildly attentive. If you want good Indian food. This is not the place to go.

Frankly excellent little place and newly opened in West Hampstead. Their first branch opened in Finchley Road and they seem to have made enough money to quickly expand. This is a lovely little place with cool décor and the now compulsary voyeurism to the kitchen. We didn’t see any tantrums but we did see several tandoor ovens burning away. The food was some of the best«indian» food I’ve come across. That is indian food tailored for local tastes. Somehow I don’t think there are many lamb shanks served on the subcontinent! In terms of value and taste this place was among the best. The initial pickles were tasty, the mains were excellent and very well priced at around £7−9. The place felt very much like being in a place like Wagamammas where the food was done simply, easily, quickly, formulaically and well. No small compliment. I left the place feeling happy and satisfied but my mind wasn’t blown… for that they need to start serving dosa… In summary, totally worth it!
