On the second floor of world famous Harrod’s, the Tea Room features Wedgewood settings and all the tasty bits of a proper afternoon tea joint. It’s not the best because it’s almost assembly line style service starting with a queue outside. The dining room is small and the tables are ugly but the food quality is fine and the service is good. The matcha dome cake looks so good but it was too lemony for my taste. I recommend the cheesecake or the Napoleon. Traditional English Breakfast was my tea of choice and it was as good as can be. If you’re in the massive Harrod’s store and want more than just a Starbucks or Pret a Manger for an afternoon snack, find this gem in the rear of the store on the second floor near the crocodile luggage.

I ordered vanilla excellent tea with milk. My first vanilla tea, tasted great. Service was nice, lots of staff about. The decoration is very pretty and the venue is well lit. I would come back again.

The tearoom is a hidden gem; hidden in the sense you need to navigate throughout the large department store to find this place behind the luggage department. I had the afternoon tea that was delicious. Followed by the stuffed tomatoes, which was just average in flavor. We had the white rose for dessert and that was delicious. Service was good and the place itself had a relaxing ambiance.

Really nice environment! English breakfast was tasty, but could be bigger? Citrus thingy dessert was nice, but too be honest I prefer Laduree more… more visually satisfying…

Really love this place. I like taking tea here instead of the usual café place. It’s quite classy and usually more chilled. The tea selection is quite extensive and amazing. I love having classy tea for a fiver :)

On the day before Christmas, all other restaurants have expected long wait line beside the tea room. Ordered the Mayfair afternoon tea for four with our choice of cake. The food was only mediocre at the price of 29 per person. A 3 star is well deserved. Better off to some other places!(Ps: the scones were dry and hard)

A very classy place for a five pound cup of tea, four pound scones, and some of the most interesting people-watching on planet earth. We got a very nice table lit by afternoon light. We had an enjoyable, excellent tea break after wearing out our knees rambling and ogling the amazing stuff of Harrod’s. Silver service, wonderful china, excellent teas.

Had tea time here with a friend, and we each got our own wee pot of tea, and 5 tea fancies we picked from a list of 12, so we tried 10 in all. Absolutely brilliant! The tiny tiny desserts were all really very good. I’m not sure which was my fave. But my least fave was the fruit cake. Service was nice enough and not bougie at all, even though I was an American tourist and I’m sure that was annoying in and of itself. It was fun to indulge for a day… will be back next time. Cheers mate!

No reason to avoid the place, but don’t go out of your way unless you’re already at Harrod’s and hankering for a pick-me-up. The scones are pretty nice, a little sweet, buttery and soft with a toasty crunch to the outside, and the service is gracious, patient and accommodating. We stayed for something like 3 hours just nibbling and sipping. It’s just the atmosphere that needs some oomph. The place has kind of a cafeteria-like feel, a barrenness that is surprising given the amount of detail put into everything else at Harrod’s. Its not off-putting exactly, but just not the cute cozy setting you might be hoping for with tea. That being said, on a rainy day after some moseying around the fancy department store, nothing is more appropriate than a break for cream tea!

If I could give it zero stars I would. I have been to Harrods many times since childhood. We went the other day for a quick cup of tea and a small fancy. 1. The cutlery we were provided was inappropriate. We were given dinner forks when we should have been given desert forks. 2. The spoons for both our cups had residue on them from previous use; along with lipstick on mine. 3. The back of my fork had dirt along the back side. We mentioned this to the server who was a bit polite but wanted to know what we wanted as that was our reason for bringing this up. Rather it was us pointing it out as to prevent scenes or issues with future customers and to point out that clearly there was something wrong with their dishwasher. In the end they removed their service charge which was insulting. In the end, I will never be returning to Harrods to shop or dine. The store is looking run down and tired compared to past years. I will stick to Selfridges especially after this event.

My friends and I wanted to try English afternoon tea for the first time and decided to choose this place because they do not require reservations ever. I went here on a Sunday afternoon around 3:39PM in a group of 8. We were seated after a 10 – 15 minute wait which I consider to be very quick for no reservation and a busy time. However, we were seated in the ONE awkward table they had that was a large round circle with a bouquet on top so i couldn’t see my friend across from me. Looking around, however, this is the only table in the entire restaurant so it is more bad luck, but really, they should just get rid of this infuriating table. Anyways, our waitress was very kind and friendly. Most of us chose The Mayfair option which was 29 pounds for five half sandwiches, two scones, three tiny desserts of our choice, and one pot of tea from a selection. It was super filling! I would definitely say skip lunch if you get The Mayfair and you’ll end up skipping dinner too. The sandwiches are absolutely delicious. The chicken one is currently floating in my dreams. The chef accidentally added roast beef to a salmon sandwich which sounds nice, but my vegetarian friend was not amused. The scones are AMAZING. With the clotted cream and jam, they will fill you right up especially if you drink your entire pot of tea. The tea fancies are actually very very tiny, but by the time you get to the third tier, you’ll be so full anyway! The Lime & Pineapple dessert I had was a little too sweet and sour. However, it was still a very rewarding and satisfying experience! If they just get rid of that table, they could easily get five stars in my head.

Beautiful tearoom and nice chandeliers. Great, lovely friendly service. The tea service was very nice. I’m only rating it 3 stars because the food was good but not phenomenal. Good one time experience only…

The wife and I stopped here in the afternoon to drink some tea in the store’s second floor tea room(by the luggage department). We did not have the full tea, just two pots of tea with milk. The first thing we noticed is that the staff were extremely busy. The manager made sure the waiters were hopping, even confronting two employees when one paused so he could help the other with making an entry into the register. But there were either too many patrons or too few waiters. I had to wait 15 minutes just to have our waiter in eyesight to flag him down and then it would take up to half an hour to get ones order. Secondly, probably because it was a Monday and they had been«cleaned out» over the weekend, they were out of half the teas in their list of options. I tried an earthy Chinese black tea and my wife had Assam, which she has had before. Third, my wife’s milk container had a leak. We did not need any more milk; she shared mine. But really 45 minutes just to get someone to remove a container from our table because it was leaking milk over the table top is unacceptable. The booth behind us(with four people) had ordered proper afternoon tea and the servers paid much more attention to them making sure they had multiple orders of sandwiches, hot scones, and pastries, plus champagne. It is obvious where the staff prioritize their time. Still if you’re parched after exploring the store for an hour or more, this is your best bet to get a fresh pot of tea.

One of the best teas in London. Splurge and get the champagne tea. Treat yourself to a glass of bubbly before the sandwiches, scones, desserts, and tea.

The worst tea and accompanying milk, for, get this; £5!!. The sandwich too, very, very ordinary, also terribly overpriced. The afternoon tea at The Ritz was totally worth it at £45; but this is money truly wasted.

It’s easy to get swept into the hype of Harods. But really it’s more like another consumer trap. I’ve had nicer Afternoon tea experiences. This place is really busy. the seating is tight it’s not a very roomy luxurious space. The food. Desserts although very beautiful are very sweet as expected but the cakes are very dry. Scones are fresh and Large. You could really just have a scone with tea and be set. The Savories that came with the afternoon tea were also quite sweet. After it all it’s just another food court.

God Save the Queen… and the Clotted Cream!!! Clotted Cream, Jam and Scones, a true institution of England. Harrods tea room is overpriced, but convient if you are spending the day shopping. These scones are a little crunchy, a little crumbly and a little sweet, just the right combination for a scone. Not too dry, but dry enough that you will welcome the Cream and Jam. Really the scone is just a delivery mechanism for the Clotted Cream. The more the better. The tea is lovely. Everything is served on a proper china, as it should be. You have to «take tea» while in London, and this is the perfect place to do it!!!

Visiting Harrods was on my to-do list in London. Wish I had had more time to wander around and shop but I’m content with just having had tea in The Tea Room. Our server was really helpful with recommendations of teas and tea fancies. Everything we had was simple and delicious(smoked salmon sandwich, root vegetable soup, tea-cured Scottish salmon, Banoffee pie bomb, Victoria sandwich, peach melba choux, and a few others I cannot recall). This place is really nice, what a fun experience.

What a delightful little bucket list item! A friend suggested I do «tea time» at Harrods while visiting London and it just so happened that I happened upon the world famous department store as I was walking towards Cromwell Road. Getting to the tea room proved to be something that should be reserved for«The Amazing race» show, but that’s only because the store is sooo big! It was almost comical how many store employees we had to ask for directions and how many times we got lost, regardless of them. I figured there would be a wait to be seated, but were able to get a 2-person table right away. Thank goodness, because after all that walking, I really needed to rest my heels. Not being tea-drinkers, we asked our server for a suggestion and in her super cool British accent she giddily said«Oh! Most definitely the french vanilla! It’s delightful!» She was obviously a fa — which had us sold. We also ordered crumpets, not knowing what they are(think English muffins) and not caring. When in Rome…(buy leather goods. When in England, but tea and crumpets). The restaurant itself was decorated beautifully, like a room that you’d find in Windsor Castle. I felt like royalty(or a distance offspring of it); being served our tea and crumpets on fine china with silver place settings and pot. The fancy, complimentary chocolate mints that came with our bill was a very nice touch. It was all the niceties of the tea room that made our hour long visit so incredibly enjoyable.
