If I’m near an interesting grocery, I always go in, unless I absolutely cannot make the time. It’s become a fun pastime for my husband and I. We’re just about connoisseurs at this point and know where there are great shops near where we live. We didn’t know anything about Harvest, but were walking by, and loved the look. Very wooden, organic, and healthy vibes. I love the guacamole they sell, and their organic multi-flavoured tortilla chips are great. We were having a friend come over who has a gluten allergy, and coming here made shopping a breeze. We found all we needed and more. The chili and lime quinoa chips are to die for. They sell some homemade items in the front and you can also get a nice looking sandwich or drink and sit in the front to enjoy it. Great selection, and the country music they played when we went in really made our day, as we rarely hear country tunes this side of the pond, with the exception of when I play it at home. Fantastic place.

Meandering down Kingsland Road this morning doing a bit of grocery shopping, I happened upon this new organic store. Never one to turn down some quinoa or lather up with anything other than sulfate-free suds, I had to go in and check it out. The store itself is refreshingly big and had an admirable supply of all things hippy-dippy. It’s not a vegetarian store, though, oh no. Organic beef steaks lined the refrigerated sections alongside the tofu. There was a little café at the front that did coffees and lovely looking baked goods. I got an iced coffee, which was oh-so refreshing. I’ll definitely be back.
