Ibis Hotel

Small room, but hey it’s London after all. For what it is, I found this Ibis excellent. Five stars all the way, even at that price, which was the best value for the area.
Speaking of which: Location location location and Euston is on your doorstep here. Kings Cross and St Pancras not far either. London is your oyster with a loaded up Oyster card.
The lobby when we arrived was big, bright and a hub of activity but we managed to check in super quick with an efficient and friendly member of staff.
Arriving in the room, it was cosy, but it was sparkling clean and the bed very comfortable. It also had a flat screen telly and free wifi. Kettle and hairdryer too, but we didn’t use these.
It was a great space to make our base for the weekend. And that’s what you need when you come to a place like London, book somewhere clean to crash in at night.
Checking out involved slotting the two key cards into the check out box, as the room was prepaid. Super dooper and out the door.

So, reviewing from perspective of woman travelling to London for work. This hotel is ideal for a work visit to London. Location close to Kings Cross, Euston (very), St Pancras, handy for British Library or British Museum too. Reasonable price for area and London. Double room small but not cramped. Breakfast is good continental buffet including fresh fruit options. Facilities include free WiFi, TV, bath as well as shower, hairdryer, shampoo etc, hotel bar, free no hassle luggage store right beside reception. Staff friendly and efficient with floating staff member doing iPad checkins. A negative is the single plug miles from the bed and no phone/​tablet USB chargers etc to compensate. No minibar just kettle. Comfortable good-​sized bed and quiet on 2^nd floor with only a little train noise. Didn’t have an evening meal or drink here but room service till 10pm then a ²⁴⁄₇ more limited service. Bar looked ok for meetings. Breakfast starts 6.30. Totally fine for work or for leisure where you’ll be out lots and not looking for a romantic base.

Stayed one night for a business trip and really wasn’t a fan. They have introduced an app instead of having phones in the rooms which did not make me feel safe at all, as a girl travelling alone.
Rooms are very average and the bath was dirty.
I had to go downstairs to ask for an iron (due to the app being useless), was sent to an ironing room with a terrible iron which did nothing for me.

Nice reception area, friendly staff and clean room. There is a decent bar and restaurant downstairs although as you’re in London you should definitely head out rather than eat in your room.
Usual standard room, not to big not to small, nothing special but does the job.
Breakfast available for a reasonable price of £9 for London.
Big plus is that there is in site parking. Great addition for a central London hotel (although parking is chargeable).

I stayed here for approximately 10 days and I throughly enjoyed my experience!
The rooms were comfortable and had all the conveniences you would need during your stay. The room I was in had two twin-​sized beds. It was a little odd because the beds were pushed together as if to make a full sized bed. I was rooming with another girl, so the bed location was strange at first, but not problematic. The room also included a small closet space, desk area, bench, TV, electric kettle, and hair dryer. The bathrooms were clean and there is an all-​in-​one soap hanging in the shower. All rooms had free wi-​fi, but it was a little bit difficult to find the login information, which was on the directory/​menu/​list of service hand out under the TV.
The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The housekeeping went above and beyond. My roommate and I had left our toothbrushes on the side of the sink one day and when we returned to our room, they were each in plastic cups for safekeeping. Also, during my stay, I got a cold. I asked the restaurant service in the lobby how much tea would cost me and the woman gave me a handful of Twinings English Breakfast Tea bags for free. They were also very helpful in re-​filling my roommate’s and my water bottles at the bar with filtered water without any hassle. The staff was always friendly and joked around with us.
The restaurant attached to the hotel was also superb. The continental breakfast had a wide assortment and they hardly ever ran out of fresh food. The breakfast consisted of eggs, beans, bacon, hash browns, toast and bread, fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, etc. It was basically everything you could ask for in a breakfast. They also had a wide assortment of juices. The espresso machines were fancy yet simple to use. You could have a delicious mocha or latte at the push of a button. The restaurant and bar also had great food after the breakfast hours and were open late. One night my roommate and I ended up eating dinner around 11:30pm and we shared the most delicious pepperoni pizza. It was reasonably priced as well.
Finally, the location of the Ibis Hotel in Euston is very convenient. It is a 2 minute walk from the Euston bust, train, and tube station, which makes traveling a breeze. There are little grocery stores along the train station, perfect for buying snacks while you travel. You are also a 15 – 20 minute walk away from Kings Cross Station. If you are like me, you are just minutes away from the legendary Platform 9 ¾. You are also about a 20 minute walk from the Camden Lock Market. There are many lovely places to see within walking distance of this hotel!
If I ever had the opportunity to visit London again, I would happily stay at the Ibis Hotel in Euston.

Truly excellent hotel. My room had a great view of London, a nice shower, and very comfortable beds. The breakfast in the morning has a really wide variety of food. It’s also in a very convenient location, so if you want to go somewhere via the tube or get some food, you can. I would stay here again.

Great location for walking to the Eurostar terminal at St Pancras — ½ mile away, and literally 100 mtrs from Euston station. Really clean and functional Hotel and at a great price.

I stayed here for 2 nights in December 2012. My friends and I made last-​minute changes on our New Years celebration plans, and this was the only hotel in the city center that had rooms available. I wanted to be generous and commend them for their accommodation, but I just can’t.
I zipped my luggage bag but did not lock it. I had my Banana Republic and Ann Taylor blouses STOLEN! My friends and I left for the day and asked for the room to be made up. When I came back, those blouses were missing from where I had put them.
The bathroom was also tiny and not very clean. This hotel is disgusting in every sense!

This is a really classy hotel. Spotless, with small, comfortable rooms.
It’s right across the street from the Euston train and a Tube station. It’s kind of an awkward path. You go thru a kind of side door.
They are a little stingy on the towels. And I have two words for all European hotels: Ice Machine
I’d like to knock off half-​a-​star for the lack of free wi-​fi. It should be a given in any hotel these days, especially one as nice as this. They said they’re planning on adding that soon, whenever that is. You can get free wi-​fi across the street at Euston station, but that’s kinda a hassle.

I stayed in this a few times and it’s a good hotel for business trip. Spacious reception and bar area, which is open for guests till late.
Found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Rooms are decent sized and clean and same goes for the bathrooms.
The only issue is their wifi setup — you need to buy an orange wifi package — for wifi access, while this is not really expensive, it’s not that cheap either (works best if you stay for a few days if you buy a monthly package rather than pay daily or weekly, however this does mean you’re only going to use a few days of the whole 30 days subscription). Also, I would expect as a business traveller for this to be set up by the staff and added to my hotel bill, as it makes it much easier to set it up and expense it.
Other than that, great location — within short walking distance to both Euston Square and Euston tube stations — and a few others further down the road too.
Really recommend it for business travellers to London, if you have to be around the Euston/​Kings Cross area.

— I stayed here for almost two weeks.
— Check-​in was fast, check-​out was fast.
— The location is great in a fairly central part of London in zone 1, the hotel is right across from Euston tube station where you can access lot of different lines. Inside the station there’s a lot of options for shopping and food, pasties, fast food, fish and chips, coffee shops, etc, also Sainsbury’s and M&S Foods here.
— There are a lot of restaurants in the area, especially Indian restaurants.
— Most of the staff seem to be from France, most are very young. The service was usually friendly. But sometimes when we called front desk, the attitude was a bit pissy.
— Service was prompt most of the time.
— The rooms are neither very large, nor very small, the room size is decent and just what you can expect in a location like this.
— The room was cleaned well most of the time, but sometimes they didn’t wash the coffee mugs. And the shelves were usually dusty.
— Just like in other Ibis hotels, you don’t get shampoo and conditioner. But you can buy it for a pound or so across the street.
— You only get one towel each, not hand towels, but if you ask the front desk they will give you extra towels.
— Asked for a room where we would not hear any noise from traffic or the trains. We got that, but instead there was minor noise from the back of the hotel where trucks came and bottles were emptied.
— Only the basic tv channels. At 08:30 am the tv alarm went off saying happy New Year on New Year’s Day, the sound was extremely loud and you could hear it even from other rooms across the hallway. I appreciate the Happy New Year greeting, but it was a bit annoying to get it blasted super loud through the tv when it was turned off and you’re trying to sleep in…
— Breakfast was good and it’s good value for money for the 7,5 GBP you pay. Hot and cold items, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, scrambled eggs, bacon, hash brown and the other stuff you would expect at hotel breakfast.
— Had dinner at the restaurant on Christmas Day, it was the only place in the area I could found that was open. It was a nice experience, the restaurant is cozy. Was thinking to get the turkey, but it was served without mashed potatoes, can you believe that??! I couldn’t. The staff seemed very inexperienced, but they were friendly and polite. Went for the seabass instead of the turkey and it was amazing. The best seabass we had in a long time. The bar area is also a nice place to hang out.
— Internet is not free, which is something we missed and you can’t even access it for free in the lobby.
— The beds are comfortable.
— The price is reasonable for such a good location.

A noter que le wifi est payant, mais qu’il y a un forfait TV pay per view + internet filaire pour environ 10£/jour (fourchette basse des prix que j’ai pu rencontrer dans d’autres hôtels)
Bien sur, on trouve un peu moins cher, mais à noter qu’ici les salles de bains sont individuelles dans les chambres, pas de salle de bains à partager !

Overall, this hotel is reasonably price, very clean with comfortable beds and roomy rooms. I was lucky enough to get one of the rooms with a bathtub, so I gather the bathroom was more roomy than most. Also, it seems that the higher numbers don’t face the busy Cardington street, so there was no street noise. The facilities worked well, and I was very impressed with the value for a London hotel in the heart of the business district (near the Wellcome Collection, University College, the BT tower and Oxford Street).
I would have rated this 4-​stars if not for the following:
1) Poor internet — As a business traveller, a few amenities have become a necessity during my trips. The most important is internet. I know in Europe I often have to pay for access, and this was no different. Wireless was 10euros per day or 15euros for 10 hours of access over my stay through Orange France. Wired was 10pounds — clearly I chose the wireless access.
The internet was TERRIBLE! Constant need to log in again from different devices, and it was completely UNUSABLE on Friday and Saturday evenings (was ok on Wednesday and Thursday — I was even able to watch Netflix). This made things very difficult for a business traveler.
2) Very thin walls — Better control over loud noises in hall and other rooms. This includes maintenance staff who were very loud at 8pm or around 9−10am — difficult for jetlagged napper.
I think this hotel is bargain compared to some others, is clean and in a very good location. BUT, beware of the internet access and be prepared to spend time in coffee shops if you need to work!

I was pleasantly surprised by this Ibis it was a bit more impressive than those I have used in France and Belgium; and for London, my twin room was surprisingly spacious, with twin beds and a bathroom with a bath/​shower, and was spotlessly clean seems to have been recently refurbished. The main draw has to be the location: it is just a few minutes’ walk from Euston station, and about ten minutes’ walk from St Pancras/King’s Cross. The area is fairly quiet at night, but Drummond Street has a good selection of Indian Restaurants, including Diwana and Chutney’s both well known South Indian vegetarian restaurants which are good value for money and a couple of decent pubs. Just inside the station is a late-​night branch of Sainsbury’s which will sell any toiletries etc you may have forgotten. For an Ibis it also has a large lobby and reception area, which is on Cardington Street (not Drummond Street Cardington Street is the continuation of Melton Street). I paid £100 for the twin room and managed to get a breakfast deal too. The buffet is OK but a bit limited but there are both hot and cold items as well as cereals. (Coffee is from a dreaded automatic machine, though.) Pleasant and helpful staff at reception. The only downside was that my room was at the back and there was a constant, low rumble of an air-​conditioning unit from somewhere. But there was no real noise from the corridor or adjacent rooms. The room was a bit chilly, but I found the room temperature control (behind a stand with the remote control, next to the bed) after a bit of hunting. I’d happily use this hotel again.

Zimmer sind im Ibis Standard eingerichtet. Leider von daher nicht besonders gross. Das grösste Problem sind doch die Türen. Man kann rechts und links von ihnen durchsenen und dementsprechend hört man alles vom Gang in die Zimmer rein, was nicht immer zu einen 100% Schlaf führt.
Preise sind im Londoner Durchscnitt — also gehoben.
Bedingt zu empfehlen. Was jedoch genial ist, ist die Lage zu Euston Station und damit zur Nothern Line.

I had a nice stay here.
This Hotel is just a few steps from the Tube station Euston, so you can easily reach any part of the city.
My room was clean, spacious, with every comfort, (bathtub too).
The Hotel was quiet at night, so no disturbing noises or buzz from the neighbours.
I loved to listen to the weather report on tv every morning drinking my welcome coffee and getting ready for the day.
I can’t talk about the breakfast, cause I had mines in the cafès nearby, anyway prices are fair.
A remark: the impression remains that here you’re nothing but a number.

Situado junto a la estación de Euston, en la que puedes tomar el metro o el tren. Cerca también puedes coger el autobus. Ideal para estancias de fin de semana para visitar la ciudad. El desayuno tipo buffet es bueno y el personal muy simpatico, en recepcion hablan español y te explican sobre plano todo lo que puedes hacer en la ciudad o a donde ir a comer. Si conoces algun hotel de la cadena Ibis de cualquier otro lugar, éste es como todos, aunque en la habitación que me aloje el aire acondicionado me daba directo y no se podia parar puesto no era individual.
