My girlfriend and I ate lunch here for our first meal in London and were really unimpressed. The garlic naan was great but everything else was completely unremarkable and I don’t understand the rave reviews. The food was expensive, not only when compared to America but also compared to another Indian restaurant we tried in central London. The service was fairly non-existent(never got a single refill, had to ask for my bill after waiting quite a while with empty plates) but I’m willing to write that off as a cultural difference.

this place is WAY over rated, do not waste your money on their overpriced shit food! we ordered takeout, and we too got the wrong food but caught it before the guy left. My husband and I were both starving and looking forward to out dinner. ‘but when we tasted it, it was seriously the worst curry Ive EVER had !!! the Korma was tasteless and tasted like water and the Adraki tasted like just some curry paste mixed with some water(my husband described it as like baby food). we were so upset, we called the restaurant to tell them how unhappy we were but he was very cold, very rude and was extremely arrogant! he refused to fix the problem or offer us a refund ! we even told them we didnt eat the food and they could have it back so they too could taste how poor of quality it was but he still refused! we even asked to talk to the owner but he was conviently was out of town. basically, we were robbed £20 we felt and wish we had just gone to buy cheap package curries instead, which taste amazing compared to the crap they call curry! To the chef: just because u may get busy and u cant handle it, doesnt mean u should not put care into the takeout food because it truly is just as important !!!

We ordered a delivery service and received the wrong food. Not the first time I might add! After losing patience this time we decided to call the restaurant only to be told we were in the wrong. The staff were unfriendly and rude and the food disappointing.

We reserved a table for five at the Indian Rasoi for Saturday night dinner at 8.45pm. When we arrived the manager greeted us at the door and told us that they had a «problem» and that due to «building works» the table was not available and that they could not accommodate us. he also told us that he had telephoned our number earlier in the evening to alert us. Naturally we had no where to go at this time of the evening as all surrounding restaurants were full, he cared little for our protestations. When we got back home we found that a message waiting on our phone timed at 8.45pm. This restaurant apart from ruining our evening, blatantly lied to us. This sort of behaviour is just not acceptable and I urge all prospective diners to take note and boycott this disgusting establishment.

A fantastic place well hidden in North London: you just open door and the amazingly good food is on you! The service, the atmosphere, the food, everything wad great for a reasonable price! Definitely a place to go if you are around!

Having lived in the area for some time I have seen this premisise change hands time and time again with very little success since the Head Chef quit some 8 years ago when it was Known as Baldwins. The Indian Rasoi has a small menu varying from your usual high street tandori with some more unusual cultural flavours of India. They are showing everyone that the way to fill your restaurant is to have excellent food and faultless service. I’m so glad I live near this place. The food is expensive but you absolutely get what you pay for. I absolutely love it. i got a take away once and the delivery boy was wearing a pin stripe suit, everything is marvellous about this place!!!
