I went into the store while on vacation and received a great education. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. I will definitely order from them and if I am ever in London I would enjoy visiting them yet again.

A must visit in London. Great selection. Nice room upstairs. Cigar museum in basement. Spent an hour here while family was in line at westminster abbey.

Excellent cigar store. Ok it’s a bit $$$ but the cigars are EXCELLENT and the smoking area just as nice. The staff was very helpful without being pushy. I know what I like in cigars and the gentleman helping me suggested a perfect match.
I will certainly visit again.

Historic place for cigars in London… all that you read is true.
Their smoking area upstairs needs to be improved. No cups, empty coffee, and poor ventilation. We opened the window and eventually all got cold.

A nice selection of cigars. Staff service is hit and miss. Sometimes very attentive, sometimes distracted even when not busy. Prices are average (which, this being London, means high). Lately I’ve preferred the Davidoff shop just up the block. However, they are so close together there is no reason not to try both and see which you prefer.

This is one of the finest tobacco merchants I have been to. They have a good selection: cigars, pipes, tobacco, accessories and so on. They also have a lot of specials. However, the best thing is the thick aroma that entices you in and the smoke room that encourages you to stay a while. In addition to a good place to spend some time it is an excellent source for gifts.

If you’re searching for a real piece of history or just a cool spot to rest your toes, this quaint and beautiful cigar shop is an oasis.

Cohibas, Montecristos, Cuabas, RJ’s etc all from Havana Cuba, none of that fake branded crap they sell in the states, though also a good choice of DR Fuente and Honduran delights as well.
Upstairs lounge is a sampling room. Free coffee n wifi to let you sample the treats below. No cigarette smoking allowed.
Not cheap, but well valued.

To be able to say that I bought cigars at the same store that Churchill did is something I’m proud to say. Very nice selection of the finest Habanos and friendly service.

I just got back from a 5 day trip to London and I can honestly say that my two visits to Fox of St. James were highlights from the trip. I arrived on a Sunday and by the time I got my sea legs going after a long flight, I discovered that retail shops are either closed or work retail hours (don’t they know I’m on USA time!!). Fortunately I ended up discovering a Hotel that has an outside smoking terrace and met a local chap that gave me the lay of the land for Cigar Aficionado’s and he highly recommended Fox. He emphasized that the selection of Cuban’s were great but since you could find them at most shops he said what set Fox apart was the upstairs smoking room which includes coffee, water, bathrooms, & wifi (that’s like the 4 keys to survival for a traveling tourist after Cuban Cigars).
So on the next day I decided to experience Fox for myself after a 3 hour trip to the British Museum which means I was ready for some downtime with a smoke. The main room that you enter is a exactly what you hope to see in a cigar shop — dark wood paneling, antique furniture fixtures, friendly staff and then a large walk in humidor lined with Cuban cigars! The Cigar Consultants there are friendly and well versed in making recommendations so you’re in good hands. And of course I went there for the Cubans and I was not disappointed since they have it all (too many to lists but trust me you will be smiling from ear to ear).
I then ventured upstairs to sitting room that overlooked St. James Street and there were about 8 Gentleman sitting there having casual conversation. I took my jacked off and then heard a voice ask me if I the spoked B on my shirt was a Boston Bruins shirt which of course it was and then before I know it a guy walked over to me with his hand out and said I’m Richard from LA and I love the Bruins. We then e dominated the conversation for the next 10 minutes and then I heard another voice mention how the Canadiens always seem give the Bruins a hard time and then I met Pierre from Montréal, Canada who was sitting with Andy from Australia. At this point, I don’t want to bore you with Hockey talk but the conversation transitioned from Hockey to Politics to the correct Wifi password so everyone in the room was able to participate. I stayed till it closed (5:30 pm) and then talked to the staff for another 10 minutes raving about their shop. My 2^nd trip to the shop was very similar along with bumping into Pierre & Andy again so if your looking for a unique cigar experience while in London — take the underground tube to the Green Park on the Jubilee line and you’ll be in Cigar Heaven within a 5 min walk!

This is probably one of the coolest cigar shops I’ve been to in a long time. They have a very, very full humidor and everything in here is so refined, high class … very much a place I didn’t feel like I belonged. Nevertheless, the sales people made it very easy and were super helpful in assisting with my purchase.
I came here for some obvious stated reasons, Cubans!
I know absolutely nothing about cigars, but when I was in Miami earlier this year, we tried to look for Cubans just for fun, and of course … embargo!
The sales staff are extremely friendly, and nonjudgmental. This is the one thing I have loved about being overseas. I always feel like in the US unless you look a certain way or are carrying certain brands, some stores just stare you down. Especially if you appear touristy, the employees typically release a slight ‘sigh’ and help you unwillingly. This is NOT the case here!
My sales guy spent 20 minutes explaining to me what Cubans were, what people usually like, what I might find interesting, and even allowed me to take pictures all up in the place because I’m a huge tourist. He wrapped my stuff up very nicely and discretely and even gave me some pointers on the impending rain.

This is a nice and legitimate place to purchase Cuban cigars since we can’t get any in the States.
They have suited up men on the floor with friendly smiles to assist with small talk and selection of cigars. I was led back to the entrance where their own cigar roller was ready for any special requests. Knowing my husband was going to drop a few euros, I had a nice mini cigar with premium seco leaves rolled right in front of me. He was actually a master roller from the Romeo & Julieta factory. If you don’t believe me, go see for yourself. The process was awesome, watching a professional cut, roll and carefully stuff a nice one for my enjoyment.
Upstairs we went to a small room with a love seat and random chairs situated against the windows and walls with small tables to accommodate room for the coffee and ashtray. Amongst magazines to occupy you, it was more enjoyable to chime in conversations of locals who visit at least on a weekly basis.

Cubans, free coffee, and I got my own cigar rolled right on the spot, what more can I ask for? We totally missed their 225^th anniversary by one day and since we went during the later hours we skipped the museum in the basement. Sir Winston Churchill use to purchase and smoke his cigars right in this very shop. Neat eh?
This was a really nice neighborhood with fancy boutique stores. If you’re a connoisseur of cigars, this is a nice treat and should not be missed during your travels.

Yes, they’re expensive, but no more than anywhere else in the UK. The taxes make all tobacco expensive there.
I got a five year old El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme for the same price a brand new one would have been anywhere else.

Home to the Freddie Fox Museum (very Winston Churchill related), this is a must-​see place if you want to see a bit of retail (and cigar) history. If it is cigars you are are after, there is a large walk-​in humidor and an upstairs sampling area. A charming place and don’t forget to ask about the Native American statue in the shop, the shop attendants will have an interesting story to tell about it.

Regardless of whether you like cigars or not (surely you must know someone you can buy a good stogie for), Fox is a must see shop! One of London’s most historic retail spaces, it’s been peddling stogies for more than 200 years. Clients include Sir Winston Churchill, Oscar Wilde and more recently me! And if you do like cigars, you’re in luck! The shop is one of few places in London where you can smoke inside that is as long as you’re sampling your purchased cigar to consider whether you’d like to buy more.

This is where the proper English gents purchase their cigars. While I’m not a cigar expert, I imagine that they have quite the extensive and excellent collection.
They prominently advertise Cuban cigars on a gold banner, which represents something a bit naughty and illegal in the US. I strolled by on a lazy late Monday morning, and the banner caught my eye. Mischievous thoughts went through my head, but I continued on without stopping. However, the impish adventurous side of me decided to go back to buy one (and start a Unilocal thread about getting it back into the US).
2 proper English gents were manning the store and immediately greeted me and came to my assistance. In a mature fashion, I explained what I was looking for and they quickly pointed out something.
There is a small seating area beyond the counter where a man was leisurely puffing away in a well worn leather wing back chair. So it’s an added perk to the cigar buying experience.
So hopefully, my smuggling efforts will be successful, and I’ll“ll update the review after I’ve taken a few puffs!
