Jasmine Garden

Very surprised by these reviews, so much so that it prompted me to give these guys this review. My partner and I have been coming to Jasmine Garden for Chinese food for at least two years now. We have been out of the country for 2 months now and regularly have cravings for their food. You cannot go wrong with their satay chicken, sweet and sour, egg fried rice, chow meins and yellow bean. Great prawn crackers, super efficient delivery too. We absolutely love the place. Don’t know what we’d do without them!

Jasmine Garden is the best Chinese takeaway I have found in London. That isn’t saying much, London has seriously disappointing Asian takeaway.
My husband had pad thai, he said it lacked flavour. It definitely needed some spicing up. Maybe some lime (came with a lemon, strange) and more tamarind. I had chicken chow mien, it had nice flavour and wasn’t too greasy. We shared the peking dumplings which were decent, but we used our own sweet and spicy soy sauce. The delivery was prompt and our food arrived warm and well packaged. On a lazy night, we will order from Jasmine Garden again.

This was my first experience with Chinese Takeaway in London. Boy. was this place a shock. Not only was the food expensive, but also thick, oily and lacked authenticity!
So far my experience of Chinese/​mixed takeaway in London has been really bad. This is place is no exception to the rule! The roast duck was covered in a horrible sauce, which was disappointing because this dish is always great for its crispy skin! I’m pretty sure the pork buns were from a packet and were stodgy/​wet as opposed to fluffy. The best thing about the meal was the prawn crackers and that’s saying something about the quality of the food!
Another problem was that Jasmine Garden’s menu wasn’t very descriptive. As a result, I didn’t know exactly what I was ordering.
On a more positive note the delivery/​service was prompt and on time. However the delivery man didn’t have the correct change. Making the transaction difficult. As a whole, the prompt delivery time does not make up for the fact the food was bad.
Maybe I am being too critical? Maybe I should have tried the Thai food… But my experience of Jasmine Garden was so bad that I am very hesitant to find out.
So I won’t be coming back for more…

Ok, is a bit expensive, but the portions are huge. The quality is quite good and what I love about this place is that they do thai, chinese, pizzas… so if you can’t agree on what to order, you can call and ask for a pizza and get some noodles at the same time.
