It was always a risk coming here, when New Tung Kong on Well Hall Road is so consistently spot-​on for fish and chips. Jimmy’s Place does lots of other things that I have not tried, chiefly Kebabs. So my review is solely based on their fish and chips.
The risk did not pay off in any shape or form.
The guy in the shop was friendly enough but I picked up some bad fish and chip feeling even at that point. We got it home and the chips were kind of fine but they had done a really bad job of the fish, it was not enjoyable. My friend had a battered sausage, it was the cheapest kind of sausage, with dry, tasteless batter. Everything tasted pretty old.
My friend decided to go hungry rather than eat her food. I tried hers, it was dire. That’s got to be one star, hasn’t it?
