I moved to London 2 months ago and had been with the same stylist for 10 years prior… To say I am picky about my hair is an understatement. The first hair cut I received elsewhere wasn’t what I was looking for, and Ryo was kind enough to listen to what I *really* wanted and gave me the desired cut — would definitely recommend!

I love this place! Don’t be put off by the messy interior, Jubilee will be moving to a new premises in Covent Garden, September ’15.
I initially accompanied someone else here because they offer digital perms. I met Yoshie who was very patient and kind, taking time to listen to my friend’s concerns as she’d never had a perm before.
When I finally decided it was time to cut my hair, I didn’t hesitate to book with Jubilee. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get an appointment with Yoshie on short notice but Sho took great care of me and I left with a huge smile on my face.
Very reasonable prices and the stylists here are very knowledgable on Asian hair which can respond differently to certain products and cutting techniques.

I’m a Asian male with very thick hair. I chose this salon based on the reviews and that they have expertise in Asian hair.
I booked an appointment an hour before I arrived– very easy to call up and lots of slots available. My hairdresser was a woman called Yuka. She did a fantastic job! We had a good talk through what I wanted and I showed her pics on my phone– she was very attentive. She talked me through what could be done, not everything was possible due to my current style so she added her own flair. She gave me a wash before cutting an spent a good 30 – 40 minutes carefully cutting my hair with trimmers giving me a nice fade along the back and sides. Then she went to work on my top, asked me what length I wanted and recommended to thin my hair with shears (As my hair is quite thick) which added layers and texture. My hair was then washed again before styling with clay. She also gave me recommendations on which products to use and how to style.
All in all it took just over an hour to complete and although it isn’t the exact style I had planned I think the style she gave me is way better! Definitely coming back. She sold me one of the clay products she used and I gave her a £10 tip. In total, everything came up to £55 including tip. Expensive but I would say worth the money as I can touch up the growth with a cheap barber next time.
I would recommend coming in with a clear idea of what you want but to be open minded about as your chosen style may not entirely possible. Also, one thing to note is that all the hairdressers are oriental with an accent (Kind of like broken english), so if you don’t understand what they are saying just clarify with them (Luckily I never had to as I am used to the accent).

It took a few days for me to choose a good hairdresser in London. And I chose this place as there were relatively good reviews. But I realised these reviews are not necessarily true for everyone —
I didnt receive any special services (tea or coffee and not even a little head massage) although I paid £50 for just a haircut! Besides it wasn’t busy at all, as i was the only one customer at that time. I thought this was a real rip off!

I’ve been getting my hair cut at Jubilee for YEARS now and it’s a steal at £45−50 per cut for Central London prices. But more importantly, the stylists there know exactly how to handle my hair, which is a must, when I’ve had enough bad haircuts in my life!
The highlight of my haircuts here are the amazing massages during the shampoo … oh my goodness. I could seriously drift off to sleep at the sink!
I used to see Yoshie, before she left, but I currently see Kate, and Ryo is very good too. They really listen to what I want and check in periodically during the cut. Last time I went for my cut, Kate actually curled my hair with a curling iron/​tongs (versus the normal blow dry) as I had mentioned (not requested! Mentioned.) that I normally styled my hair with a curling iron. Never had a salon do that before without charging me extra.
I love the friendly atmosphere of the salon too — I really feel as though I can relax and that my haircut is a treat, not a chore or a stress (which haircuts can often be). And when I walk off with my new, bouncy ‘do? My wallet’s happy too.

I have been in search for a new hair salon. I’ve always walked passed this place, from the outside it looked pretty good as I’m Korean myself. However, once I had walked out that salon after my cut I left in disappointment, frustrated and just purely and utterly annoyed.
First of all: they made me wait for 15min. There were staff available yet I don’t know why they were too lazy to cut my hair or offer me a beverage while I wait.
Second of all: the woman that cut my hair was not korean and she seemed like an amateur. I literally had to tell her how to cut my hair, what tools to use to get the desired look I wanted, I even showed her pics repeatedly, I nagged at her repeatedly to do it this way n that way. And all she did was trim my split ends off & chomp off a bulk of my fringe that even I think I can cut my fringe better than that. My hair is a bob style and by her chomping off a fringe + certain area of split ends= £40 and that took her an hour and 20 min. The shop was about to close.
This woman was so terrible that even her korean staff members were making fun of her behind her back as she was struggling to cut my hair and telling me to come bk in 2 weeks.
This was extremely disappointing and I will never go back here again. Complete rip off and waste of money because of that Hong Kong staff.

I always get nervous about finding a new hair salon, but I’m so glad I found Jubilee. I have had my hair cut by a senior stylist and a top stylist, and both were great, though I admit the top stylist did a better, more thorough job. Still, both were friendly, nice, and talked me through the style I requested. The price is reasonable for me because I tend to wait a little longer in between cuts, but both took their time and I didn’t feel like they were rushing me out to get to their next client. I’ll definitely stay with them from now on while I’m in London!
A bonus for the salon is that they were kind enough to call me about an umbrella I’d left there and allowed me a few days to pick it up. So, great service!
And just another note: I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and talked them through it, so I can’t really say much about the tactic of going in and wanting to be surprised by what they come up with. =)

Very disappointed experience, I reviewed all the positive feedback here but unfortunately they didn’t happen to me. The staff asked me what to drink while I was waiting but didn’t offer the tea at all. The stylist had absolutely no clue what she was doing even thought I showed her pics, the awful haircut looked like done by an armature but paid £32 — and she told me she just came here for 2 months :(all in all, this was my worst haircut ever, I couldn’t believe it given by the price, will for sure not come again.

After reading all the positive reviews of this hair salon I decided to give this place a go since I was due a hair cut.
I made the appointment on the day and managed to get one. The salon was easy to find, located just round the corner From Tottenham court Road station. I got there 20 minutes early and didn’t have to wait long at all after they took my bag and coat.
My hair stylist was Ryo. I assume she’s Japanese. Her English was very good. I showed her a picture of the style that I wanted and she gave me some professional advise but respected my decision (which a lot of hair dressers don’t). She washes my hair herself and you get a mini complimentary head massage which was nice.
She was very quiet the whole time and didn’t talk to me much, whcih was good as I was pretty tired after a long day of work. She was very focused and paid attention to every strand of hair.
My hair cut cost £45 （my hair was up to my chest before） which I guess is reasonable for central London. I am fairly pleased with the results and will probably go back again and try a different stylist next time !

Went for a haircut and perm. Loved it! Decent price for central London. If you have Asian hair or want a perm, I highly recommend this salon.

When I walked in for my appointment, I didn’t expect to see clientele and staff almost completely of Asian descent, so I was a bit nervous, but these guys did a great job handling my bright red hair and making me feel right at home even though I’m new to London.
Pricing is pretty standard of central London, with friendly service and coffee or tea readily available. My stylist offered a bit of advice when she knew I needed it, and my hair looks just as great several washes after the cut. I’ll be coming back!

First time I’ve been here since losing my hairstylist to the new world… And can I say, Ah — Mah — Zing! My stylist and I chatted about what to do with my hair, since it had been probably 8 – 10 weeks since I last cut it, and she proceeded to not only give me an AWESOME haircut, great service, and a good hour long chat. I feel like we’re friends already.
The salon is in a rather odd location, a little away from salon central in Soho, but it’s not far, and it’s clean and very professional. A mens do will set you back around £32, which is about right for central London salons in the area. But, damn I got so much more. Defo, my new best place to go. I’ve left with probably the haircut I’ve been most excited about in years!

I was in the search for a new Asian hairdresser and decided to give Jubilee hair salon a try after walking past numerous times. Since then I’ve been three times and have never been disappointed.
The studio itself is quite modern and clean. The staff are all very genuine, friendly and always up for a bit of a chat. The pricing seems quite standard of central London hair salons with a women’s wash, cut and blow dry setting you back around £40. However some nice added touches are that they do a nice little head massage when washing your hair and often offer you a drink if you need to wait for your hairdresser.
I’ve had my hair cut by Kate twice now and she always takes the time to listen to how you like your hair cut whilst offering suggestions of her own based on your face shape and personal style. She pays an incredible amount of attention to cutting hair down to the last strand and I’ve always left happy with the cut.
On my last visit, it was pouring outside when I went to leave and really appreciated when they offered for me to stay until the rain subsided, even giving me a cup of coffee while I waited.
I recommend coming here during the day if possible when they are not so busy. Else make sure you make an appointment for the evenings to make sure someone is available for you. Overall I’m very happy with the place and glad I won’t be searching around for a new hairdresser again. :)

Prices here seem to mid-​range, a tad high, from all the places in central London that I have passed.
But I believe a good hair cut is worth the price. Here it costs 27 pounds for a men’s cut, but the amount of time they spend is amazing. I personally have found «Tiger» (hair stylist) to be my favorite and recommend him to my friends. He does crazy trick with scissors that I haven’t seen before and always offers some good conversation.
So if it is within your price range, a trip to Jubilee Hair Salon might be worth the travel. I got monthly and haven’t had a problem ever. It is recommended that you call ahead for an appointment. They seem to have peak periods where everyone storms the salon, either after work or on a lunch break.

I have never been satisfied with my haircuts and it usually takes a week before it grows on me. But this is not the case at Jubilee. Thanks to Mika the stylist, I always LOVE my new haircuts, I’m so happy I can’t help smiling as I walk out the hairdressers.
I was first refered to go Jubilee last year and have keep going back since then. No regrets. Price is average in London and I recommend it to everyone.

My sister came back one evening about two months ago sporting such a dramatic new look that I almost didn’t recognise her. I had to ask her a million times before she’d give me the details.
So I went in and booked an appointment after work earlier this week (turns out its just down the road from where I’m temping at the moment), two days before my graduation ceremony. Prior to this I hadn’t actually actually paid for my hair and had been living the student life for a year or two going to model appointments at a salon just off Oxford Street. I’m a very low maintenance hair person and don’t bother to brush it half the time.
Jubilee Hair Salon is located near Tottenham Court Road station in the Korean district of London opposite the food store. The place is home to great Japanese and Korean stylists. My stylist was Yoshie, whose name I got from an online review. She listened to what I wanted, gave me her own opinions on whether this would suit my face shape, and generally played it safe, letting me know whenever she was about to do anything, as opposed to just chopping. I also got reassurance as I was very worried about getting the fringe I wanted to try, having not had one for about 13 years. Seeing about 12 inches of hair fall in front of my eyes freaked me out a little but she did it so fast I didn’t have time to dwell on it. I just thought, ‘well that’s done, not much I can do now!’. I also had about 3 inches cut off the rest.
It doesn’t look like much from the outside, or even inside rather (nothing like a top London salon if I were to compare to other places I’ve been in the past), but don’t let this fool you. I was also told that it had recently been refurbished.
I ended up paying £45 because of the length of my hair. Other reviews which I have seen online put the average price for women between £29 and £39. I was also told by my sister later on that they do student discounts. Compared to places like Toni & Guy its a bargain! I’d been quoted in the £30s on my appointment-​making visit so was a little dissapointed but overall happy with the result, speed, and friendliness of employees.

After experimenting with a few different hair salons in London, this is one of the best places I’ve had my hair cut at.
Jubilee is an unassuming hair salon with a mix of Japanese and Korean hair stylists, tucked away along with some other Korean shops on Denmark Street.
For awhile, my sister had been asking me to try out Jubilee but I was actually very reluctant to as I wasn’t very impressed with how they had cut her hair a few times. She then changed her hair stylist and boom, that completely changed my mind about the place! Excited to try them out, I then made an appointment with them for my next hair cut.
My stylist was Yoshie who was very friendly and honest with her advice. She gave me some recommendations on how she was going to cut my hair and during the whole process she would always let me know what she was doing next.
I was very happy with the overall cut, she listened to what I really wanted. There were no miscommunications at all, it’s like she read my mind! Usually after I leave the salon I’d rearrange my hair after it’s been styled, but she styled my hair so well I kept it as it is!
The total price came to £34 which is reasonable for a wash, cut and blow dry in London.
If you’re ever in Jubilee, ask for Yoshie!

after having the worst hair cut in my life last month by a guy called Hamilton Harris in greenwich! (he cut one side of my hair dead straight and shorter then the other side.) and adding too many short layers and leaving my hair super blunt that i ended up thining and layering my own hair the following 2 weeks.
i waited very patiently for a month to grow my hair again! lucky for me my hair grows every month, but the problem is that it needs a lot of thining each time i have a haircut!
it was time for me to have another haircut. I decided to go to jubilee hair salon because my friends been there before and highly recommended the stylist yumiko also known as betty.
a quick search on google and you can find her personal website with the salon contact and pictures. after a call to the salon i found out she only works fri and saturdays.
So i booked an appointment for friday.
she was very friendly, and focused on my hair, i told her my little problem with the previous haircut and she was shocked on how bad he messed my hair up! she read my mind about me wanting to grow the other shorter side, so told me she would not touch that part of my hair so i can grow it out.
I showed her some pictures of nicoles richies old bob hair style, which had pointy layers.
I wanted the pointy layers in my hair as i know it means a lot of thining, and said my hair needs tidying up!
throughout the whole process we chatted like we was old friends and was the loudest out of the salon, we just laughed and laughed over silly things.
she offered me tea once i sat down, and had a through consultation of how my hair will end up like, shampoo and massage was well done!
my haircut cost me £29, it was shoulder length which i think is very reasonable i walked out as a very satisfied customer!

I’m almost loathe to share this place as it’s the only hairdresser you can call on a Saturday morning and get an appointment for that afternoon.
Part of a selection of Korean shops in central London this unassuming hair salon looks run down and a bit dodgy if you’re precious about your hair but I heard about it from a beauty blogger and have been going there for years.
Good quality cuts for ridiculously cheap prices in central London. I have super fine hair which they think is very novel but always know what to do with to leave me happy.
Have referred friends who’ve also had a positive experiences including using it to get a convenient, budget blow dry before heading out in Soho for the night.
