Den, the owner and sole barber is a complete character. He’s a Greek Cypriot who swears like a trooper. This is very much an old fashioned place where you get a short back and sides for a few quid. I buzz my hair to a number 1 with my own clippers but sometimes treat myself to a haircut by Den just to hear his take on the world.

This is another very local institution, somewhat scruffy, but open for years and frequented by barrow boys and barristers. The conversation is very much London-​black-​cab-​driver and metro-​sexuals need not apply.
This is a simple clippers and scissor job. What he does, he does well and nearly all custom is repeat custom. If you are born in or move to the area, you start coming here, you stop coming here when you move away or die.
