We stopped here on our last night in London. It was a Friday and it was super packed. The«veggie fish» and chips, which is really fried halloumi cheese was amazing, but who doesn’t love fried cheese? The curry sauce with the chips was also super tasty. The fish was nicely done, but huge. We couldn’t finish is and were disappointing that they didn’t have togo boxes. They also had some interesting ciders, I tried a passion fruit one that was super tasty.

Just stopped in for a pint of Greene King IPA. Usually a good dependable ale. Tastes like they don’t clean the lines very often or they do but don’t flush them through properly. Shame as a very nice cosy pub otherwise. Bye bye.

Stopped by for drinks in the early evening, asked what time they served food till and was told 10PM. The food they were serving looked good. Bounced around to a few different pubs for drinks then went back at 9:30 for dinner and was told they were out of food. Very disappointing!

Very comfortable little pub. Nice mix of people, always good to see. Kids party upstairs, business types, painters and decorators downstairs. I like the exposed beams and the general vibe. Footy on the t. v but quite quiet and not over bearing.

Cosy corner pub located in Shepherds Market and around the corner from Green Park. Stopped in here for a pint while waiting for a table at Burger & Lobster. Nice range of beers on tap and a tasty menu. Mixed pleasant crowd of locals, builders and tourists. Lots of men here by themselves watching football on the tvs. I will definitely pop in here again if I’m in the neighborhood.

Good fish & chips. Friendly staff. Repeat visitor. Very trustworthy. Left my credit card at the bar by accident months ago. No unauthorized charges. Anxious to go back and try bangers and mash. Peas served with everything.

I’m a fan of this cute lil pub, with a lovely upstairs. You order your food at the counter — I got Anna’s Happy Sausages, and they were DELICIOUS. I do not eat potatoes, so they kindly substituted with another sausage. The staff was VERY friendly, and checked in with us.

This is a really great pub with a really great staff! The staff loves Breaking Bad, so when I sat down and saw a quote from the show on a chalkboard next to my table, I laughed out loud! I wanted to get away from the stress that show had caused me but it looked like I was in great company. Super friendly staff and excellent chicken sandwiches and fish and chips, A++++++

Nice little pub tucked away round the corner from Green Park. This place forms one side of a small pub /restaurant oasis away from the busy streets. For drinks we have some good cider choices, a quartet of ales and a selection of middlemarch wine. Three drinks will push past 10£ at current prices. Two tvs with sport though. However not much standing space.

This place was recommended by a bartender at the hotel we were staying at as being the best place to get Fish & Chips. As any tourists wanting to try to the local specialties, we embarked on a journey to Kings Arms. There was a football match going on when we had visited because the pub was packed on the first floor so we made our way upstairs where it was much quieter. There were TVs upstairs with the game on but the crowd was subdued. Service is non-existent which means you go to the bartender, place your order and they bring your food to you, no follow up if you need anything else. This requires some adjusting and learning local customs especially coming from the US where we take customer service seriously. So we ordered a plate of Fish & Chips and a local ale to try. The fish was tasty, nothing spectacular and the chips were average. The food wasn’t mind blowing, didn’t tantalize the taste buds… just okay.

A good place to eat something for launch. I really enjoyed jacked potatoes. Soft music a the good English pub atmosphere. Just two steps away from Buckingham Palace.

I honestly wonder if the people giving this place 4 and 5 star reviews were in London for more than a day. Saying this place is a solid English pub is like visiting a Starbucks and saying you’ve been to a solid, authentic coffee house or Chipotle and saying you’ve been to an authentic taqueria. It’s a Taylor Walker and if you spend more than an hour in London you’ll quickly realize that they’re a big chain who seem to have a pub on every corner. The beer selection was fairly modest with Doom being perhaps the most interesting offering on tap(and that’s no saying much). The food was pretty uninspired. Really, the décor is the only thing going for this place.

Two floors, a good beer selection, decent food, wide screen TVs, and a friendly crowd. A very nice area with lots of small pubs and restaurants. A hidden gem. Nothing really outstanding from other pubs, but I like this one better than Ye Grapes just down the street. Seems a bit classier for some reason.

Great Pub in Mayfair down a little street that opens into a cute little neighborhood of shops, restaurants and pubs. The main pub is downstairs with a seating area and a large flat screen upstairs. Everyone from the staff to the patrons was very friendly. There seemed to be a great mix of people — young and old, a few well dressed professionals, some tourists and on and on. Didn’t really taste the food — had some«not so special» nachos — but the beer and the atmosphere were fantastic. Highly recommended if you want to get away from the crowds and fast pace of Piccadilly Street!

Bucket List: London Pub — Check Last night in London so we wanted to check out a good solid London Pub. Great find! After Dinner and some drinks at Mr. Kong(Best Chinese food ever had), we decided to hit up a pub for some more drinks. Great Idea on clear, crisp night. Kings Arm is located close to the Green Park Underground station(2 – 3 blocks away). It is down a back ally, which is kinda scary, but it is exactly what you think of when you think of the London Streets, dark, kinda scary, but lined with inviting food and drink places! Kings Arm is a small place, not sure if there is an upstairs, but the Pub is downstairs(ground floor). You def get the warm and cozy feeling when you walk in, everyone was talking, having a good time, even the bartenders. They were nice and courteous, even to two American tourists. They had about 4 beers on draft and several wine selections on top of the full bar. Selection wise Not over the top but decent. The beer, mixed drinks and wine were all good and fresh tasting. The crowd was great too, a whole mix of students, tourists and locals. We arrived after the kitchen had closed so I cant speak to the food, but the beers, atmosphere and location were killer. I would def. go back in a heart beat. Note: Alot of bars close at 11pm during the week. For Americans that’s crazy, but just beware. Dong Dong! Was that Big Ben or Last call… either way another round on me! See you at the bar.

Down a tiny dark alley from the Sheraton, this pub beckoned to me every night I was in London during my recent trip but I felt I should try to explore more than just one place. I should have just stuck with my instincts and returned here each evening, for the friendly service as much as the cheery mixed crowd that comes in to enjoy the yummy cold Guinness. Only downside is that it closes at 11. But I gather that’s kind of the norm for places in the area, so I really can’t downgrade my rating for that.

I walked in a couple times with intentions of getting fish ‘n chips but I felt really uncomfortable because everyone was just drinking. Nobody was eating. Nada. Nothing. Not even eating crisps(potato chips to us yanks). This happened on two different evenings. Their sign out front may say«Best Fish N Chips in Town» but from the looks of things my guess is food isn’t their specialty. There was little indication they had a kitchen or even tableware. So I walked out and grabbed some food at another place.

Last time I was in London, eleven years ago, I had one of the best burgers of my life at the original Hard Rock. I wanted to go back and have another, but I picked Friday to do it. The crowds were too dense for my hunger. But I followed my First Rule of London Pubs: walk two blocks off of any major tourist thoroughfare, and you’ll find a proper one. Kings Arms did not disappoint. There was a small but friendly crowd waiting to watch the World Cup. I had a ploughman’s lunch and a good local IPA. The barman was friendly but not intrusive: the sort of bluff, salty chap you expect behind the counter at a solid English pub. Protip: if they still have Sharp’s Brewery on tap here when you visit, step up to the bar with a fiver in hand and order a pint of Doom. You can tell a man who’s had a pint of Doom. There’s a distant look in his eyes, like storm clouds off the cliffs of Dover, and he fears not the sting of death.
