I was at art school in Archway and living in Tufnell Park and needless to say feeling more prosperous than I have done since. So I elected to spend the proportion of my student loan on booze, a really comfortable bed and cut flowers from La Belle Vie flowers that was at that time, newly opened. I couldn’t help myself but wander in when I was walking passed, the splash of colour a welcome relief to the greyness of Junction Road. It’s far from the best florists I know but there is a distinct lack of choice in those parts. The owners are more than lovely and I fancied there was something quite indulgent about being known by name by your local florists. The selection never was vast but the flowers are fresh and they do have pretty good taste. I would hesitate to recommend them for bouquets, I always got the impression that they were learning the trade on the job but for a bunch of something to cheer you up they do a treat.

La Belle Vie is a nice florist, selling upper end type of flowers. You won’t find a bouquet here for less than 10 pounds but they are well put together. This shop does more classic sort of flowers so you won’t find much spikey or bizarely coloured. There are a couple of bears around to accent your arrangment, if you do desire and some cards. I was asked immediately if I needed help. Someone came out the back to help me. You get the sense this shop will get the job done if you need to send a message with flowers.
