I’m pretty confident that this is the best bakery in London. When I first arrived, I visited all the big names(Spence, St. John, Dunn’s, Gail’s, Balthazar, E5, Old Post Office, Nordic) – I take my bread very, very seriously. Le Moulin does a range of breads and it does them well. And I mean«range.» A lot of the bakeries in London seem to do variations on a(usually sourdough) theme. Le Moulin’s different breads are made from qualitatively different dough. I recommend the grain twist, the honey walnut, and the rosemary and garlic to get you started. Plus the guys who run it are so friendly and kind… they’ll often throw in a cookie or whatever for their regular customers. Really, I can’t praise this place enough. More people need to go here! Although not so many that they’re out of my favourite breads by the time I finish work(which sometimes happens)… One caveat: when I say best bakery here, I mean for bread. Pastries are a whole other kettle of fish…

You might miss this as you walk down the high street but you MUST visit to try their breads, cakes and pastries. It’s so good. They have a big range of breads, crispy baguettes, sour doughs and seed loaves. Everything I’ve tried so far is really good. They do these little spinach pastries which are so tasty.
