This is my favourite breakfast place in the village. It has the sunny aspect in the mornings, so grab a seat by the window and watch the world go by. I would avoid sitting outside, although I like the new rugs they’ve provided for those chilly mornings, during peak traffic times as the traffic is noisy. The Polish waitress, who greets me in the mornings with the most beautiful smile, is delightful. 5 stars to her for remembering I like an Americano! They play classical music which is soothing. Dig in to the yummy breakfast on offer and try the freshly made to die for baguette… the bread here is simply divine. I’m very choosy when it comes to good bread and good coffee. That’s why I love it here. I can only say good things about Le Pain Q. Come try it out! Breakfast, lunch and dinner. You won’t be disappointed!

Today’s trip was a bit mediocre. Despite being only half full, service was slow. Although I ordered«spicy eggs», the dominant flavour to the five-bean chilli was watery tomato and the sour cream on top(it would be worth asking for it on the side of you want your food to be spicy!). Despite me topping it with a lot of salt and pepper, it stayed pretty bland, and the rye bread wasn’t proper chewy rye bread but looked just like crunchy wholewheat to me. The baked eggs that my friend had were reportedly tasty, although when they came they were absolutely swimming in oil. The matcha latte with almond milk is tasty, though, and a nice addition to the menu.

Really not quite sure what to make of this one. It was a bright Saturday morning and after a quick stroll to Morden for my fortnighty £5 «haircut»(#1 all over please) we decided to venture up the hill to the posh side of town. After the climb on an empty stomach, this was literally the first place we came across. Sunshine, tables outside full and some produce on show drew us in. Now I normally try to lay off the bread, but everything on the menu seemed to come with«le pain». Hungry but not finding a few small plates to clump together we ordered The Angler(granola, boiled egg, juice, bread, pastry of choice, salmon and capers, ricotta on a wooden board + hot drink of choice) and a feta frittata and salad. Most things were reasonably enjoyable, except«le pain». Really wanted to enjoy the food, but left somewhat deflated by the experience, possibly because of the near £25 for two.; or maybe because i’m slightly more grungier of nature than the village. Overall«fine» not«FINE!». I expect there will be plenty who love it though.

All wood interior gives cosy ambiance and on-site bakery makes this chain above average, but at a price.
