Not a bad place to pop in, if you’re in the area and need something small(i.e. stakes for your husband’s tomato plants). I visited the garden storefront only, but there are other more hardware-and home-oriented shops on the south side of the street. This particular one seemed very Robert Dyas-esque with its mishmash of gardening tools, small appliances, and the like.

Lords have everything. If you can’t see it, ask, they’ll have it or can get it. I ordered some wood from them and asked to have it cut into lengths to make some book shelves. They were very helpful and didn’t charge extra to do it. The wood, brackets, screws etc all arrived the next day, delivered for a tenner. It was all cut perfectly to my measurements. Can’t fault that at all. They’re not the cheapest price-wise, but it beats going all the way out to B&Q, and you actually get good advice, which is worth the(small) extra for buying locally. I’ve since been back to buy bits and bobs, and will continue to do so. Recommended if you live in Bayswater/Notting Hill and have some DIY to do.

I’m not too big on DIY but whenever I need tools, paint or advice, Lords is one of the first places I head to. They know their stuff and have a better(and possibly cheaper) selection than the big chains.
