This place is like a Whole Foods but better(similar dollar to pound conversation = which translates to Americans as a little pricey but not insanely so). Many locations throughout the city offer fresh organic salads, wraps, fruits, sandwiches etc. Excellent place to get healthy, grab-and-go grub as opposed to KFC or McDonald’s. They also have a great, reasonably-priced selection of wine. I was a huge fan after going to multiple locations in London. I only deduct a star because as I was making my 3rd consecutive purchase at the Victoria Station location, the cashier asked me if I wanted a plastic bag for my 5 – 6 items. I said yes. She shook her head in disgust. To fuck with her, I added«double bag it». Her ghastly reaction was the equivalent as if my hobby were tossing Styrofoam Coolers into ravines of protected wet lands harboring endangered animals. Miss M&S Victoria Station employee, move out of the city where you’re off-the-grid and grow/raise your own food… only then I will take your feigned, pompous, disgust seriously.

I enjoyed my M&S experience. We got the £10 Meal for Two which included an main item, a side, bottle of wine and dessert! We chose chicken with mozzarela and basil which was much better than I expected, potatoes with butter, garlic and rosemary. I definitely would try this meal option again as it was so cheap! I wasn’t impressed enough to puchase extremely often. But, I will say M&S is a great larger grocer option in the area. The staff is extremely helpful and very courteous! I would shop here regularly for my groceries!

I walked out of the train station and made my pick here @ Simply Food. Sure, there are a lot of different places to eat inside(most of which are«fast», and by fast, I mean fried or unhealthy in some way), but I wanted to make it to my hostel already so I went in and grabbed a roast beef sandwich, some salt and vinegar chips, pom and red current gums, and water. It made for a fine meal on the go. Likes: Location. these stores are everywhere!(so much better than 7 – 11’s!) The foods sold here seem to be healthful: plenty of fruit, «organic» items, and readily prepared meals(salads, microwave or stir fry), not to mention sandwiches, all in packages. They also sell fresh flowers, journals/papers, reusable sacs, wines. Ambiance: It was clean; like the color scheme and the woodsy floors. Gripes: Prices. Slightly expensive? Maybe I’m just saying this because I’m used to paying dollars and our economy sucks. Other than that, I heart this market.
