I was looking for an NHS dentist for my first cleaning and came across Dr. Chan’s dental practice online. The place was right around the corner form where I lived and I decided to check it out. Now I have heard really horrible things about NHS dentists but since they are also a private firm I figured that I’d give it a go.
I called up on Tuesday and was given an appointment on Thursday evening. They stay open until 7PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays which is awesome. No more fighting for Saturday appointments! As a new patient, the intake procedure was really fast. I just had to fill out one sheet of paperwork which detailed my medical history and withing minutes I was off to my first cleaning in the UK.
Now I had really horrible experiences as a child at the dentist. My teeth are really tight and I just have bad memories of dentists trying and failing to drag sharp tiny instruments through them. So when Dr. Hassan started to clean my teeth I was very happy that she was using a much more sophisticated tool that shoots compressed water into the area. It makes me wonder what kind of backwards dentist have I been going to in the States.
Dr. Hassan was also very knowledge able and very nice. She did a good job and I will definitely see her again in 6 months.
