Amazing! Just amazing! The restaurant is really pretty inside and out. I loved the whole theme and decoration, it was very nice. The staff was super friendly, attentive and quick. Our server even helped us with the food selection. We had the 2 — course lunch special and everything we tried was really good, flavourful and fresh. I had the pad thai and some dumplings and both were delightful. I’ll definitely be eating here again!

I’m a regular here, the food is always good and the staff are polite and friendly. No the speediest service, but that means I get a chance to chat to friends.

We tried the lunch special – £6 for one course and £8.50 for two. The best thing about this place was the restroom: clean and bright. The service was horrible and equally matched the food. We had the green and red curries. The curry was so watery it was really more like a soup. As previously mentioned, the service was miserable. We had to wait forever for our drinks, food, and the bill. I know it seems like a good deal but when the food and service are this bad, it’s like flushing your money down the toilet.

Probably the worst Thai food that I have ever endured, tasteless and over salted, the waitress never even commented when she must have seen that we left most of it, definitely somewhere to be avoided at all costs.

There is a story in Greek mythology. A story of Jason, Argonauts and Sirens. The Sirens lived on three small, rocky islands and sang beautiful songs that enticed sailors to come to them, which resulted in the crashing of their ship into the islands. Mai Thai is like those Sirens. The restaurant is so beautiful from outside and inside that I almost heard it singing songs about great Thai food being served there. Unfortunately I’m not Jason and the Mai Thai siren managed to tricked me. I stepped into the restaurant and got food that was quite eatable but completely tasteless. Not even a hint of Thai ingredients, herbs or vegetables … No balance of sweet, sour, spicy and savoury flavours. Very disappointing … If you are in the area, use some earplugs and sail a few bus stops east(to the elephant island).

Very good Thai restaurant conveniently located approx 5 minutes from Wimbledon station. My friend and I always visit Mai Thai whenever we are in the area. The food is consistently good and value for money you could get a starter, main, and a glass of house rosé for a little over £15. The waitresses are friendly and always smiley. One small downside, you are seated very close to other diners due to the small space, and it can get really loud over dinner when the restaurant is full, so you have to literally shout across the table. :-/

Consistently good Thai I’ve eaten here often since 2007. I usually get takeaway so I can’t comment on the restaurant service, but I always enjoy the food. Slightly larger portions would be my only suggestion for improvement.

The locale looks really attractive from the outside and feels comfy when inside. However that is probably where anything pleasant about this experience ends. The waitress, who we had to flag down, could not speak English and was not able to give us any direction, nor answer basic questions that we had about certain dishes. The food was bland to the point of tasteless and beyond oily. The dumplings were not cooked and by cold.

I have to agree with Yee Gan here, this is a nice place and they have tried with the décor and menu but it’s a little bit soulless. I went here with my sister and ordered my favorite Thai dish — Veggie Pad Thai, as as far as they go, it was tasty and fresh and hot but not the best. The service however was, possibly Amy M went on a bad night as they had a really quick turn around(yet not worryingly quick) and we grabbed a quick bite in about an hour. Now I wouldn’t travel all the way out here for this meal again but I am more than happy to pop in after going to the pictures for a quick bite. You definitely could do worse in the area — there is a KFC!

I sometimes pop in here for their cheap and cheerful £6.50 for 2 courses lunch menu. I usually get the spring rolls or tom yum soup depending on whether I need warmth of soup on a chilly day! Then their pad thai is usually quite nice for main course. Nothing spectacular but its average dining experience will only make it Mai Thai, not my Thai!

Mai Thai looks like it could be a nice little restaurant and as my boyfriend is a big fan of Thai food and we had heard a few good things about this place we thought we’d give it a try. The menu looks quite nice with the usual thai curries, chicken, pork, beef and duck dishes, seafood and plenty of veggie options. However after ordering our food we waited a ridiculous 30 to 40 minutes for our food. When it finally arrived it was cold! We couldn’t eat the food and left without paying. I will not be returning to Mai Thai’s in a hurry especially when there’s a great Thai restaurant up the road in the village!

this place is ok but the service was awful. Slow and the waitress was moody and snappy. Added tip without asking and we removed it. Food is ok but not great and it took ages to come. Wouldnt goback.

This is the best Thai restaurant in London. The food is simply delicious. The atmosphere is also intimate and so is a great place to go for a romantic meal with your loved one. They also cater for vegetarians very well.
