I popped in here whilst I had been shopping with my mother on Oxford Street one weekend as we wanted to have something different other than a Starbucks, or a sandwich from one of the department stores. As my mother is a vegetarian, we opted for a vegetarian mezze. We got a plain houmous, falafel, some flat bread, vegetarian moussaka and a mixed salad. The food was delicious and the falafel was piping hot and crispy when it arrived. I know falafel has the danger of being dry however this really wasn’t and it complimented the houmous and salad perfectly. All of the food tasted really fresh and flavoursome. The service was also really good! We couldn’t finish all of the food so we asked for it to be packed up in a take away container which the staff were more than happy to do. Furthermore the price was very reasonable however we did only have water so I guess that might have kept the price down as well. Overall, this is a great little place to visit should you want to grab a quick, reasonable and tasty lunch and happen to be in the area.

We had just finished shopping on Oxford Street. We picked the restaurant for its décor and and courteous waiting staff. The lentil soup was refreshing. We had the mixed platters, mixed shawarma, lamb and stuffed aubergines. All for £55. My family’s first time in a Lebanese restaurant. The lamb and rice was delicious and came recommended for someone with nut allergy. We finished off with Lebanese sweets from the staff. Definitely a great way to finish a busy afternoon and evening of shopping on Oxford Street in warm restaurant with great service.

I absolutely love this place. The best, most authentic & freshest mediterranean food I’ve had outside, well, the Mediterranean. Their juices are SO refreshing, especially MELON! We always order the baba ganoush(mashed eggplant w/pomegranate seeds mmm), creamy hummous of course, the fattoush salad(topped with crispy fried pieces of pita), and the shish taouk wrap(chicken pieces grilled to perfection, gherkin, covered in garlic sauce). My boyfriend and I can safely say we’ve been here 37 times in our 3 years in London and have taken every single one of our friends who all walk away extremely satisfied. Great prices, great food, good for groups. You really can’t go wrong. (PS they dont actually take reservations, but are still quick and accommodating to large groups).

I came here twice. It was a pleasure to dine here each time! The first time I had a chicken and rice soup and the second time I had a chicken kabob with fried vegetables. Both meals were served relatively quickly(chicken takes time to cook, right?). The food was warm … and it tasted really, really good! I was especially impressed with the kabob and the fried vegetables. The portions are *huge* and I’m surprised I ate as much as I did! This is a very busy place. Lots of patrons and the staff are running around like crazy to make sure everyone is well taken care off. There’s a part of me that thinks that they should lean this out. I don’t know what the answer would be though. Perhaps I noticed only because I had a table for one right by the main path of travel for the staff. The waiters and waitresses are very, very polite. I felt very comfortable there despite the hectic environment. It was nice to see families with kids there too because it reminds me of my own family while I’m traveling for work. Overall, a very nice place!

I grew up in the Middle East(Bahrain to be specific). Therefore, I get home sick for Middle Eastern food about 4 times a month on average(once per week, pretty much!) Maroush is my go to place for on-point Middle Eastern food. There’s not much else to say though — it’s just fantastic. Be sure to order the hummus Beiruty, kibbeh(minced lamb bites, if you may), the lamb shank(one per two people is a good amount) and the shish tawouk(again, one per two people). Their shawarmas are quite delicious as well — I usually take one home for a late night bite(hehe don’t tell my Mum!)

Had a really good meal here tonight. Staff were great, the food came quickly. Ordered from the mezze menu and it didn’t disappoint. The price is probably average for the area. Definitely cheaper than some!

A touch on the pricey side, but they dish out solid Lebanese food. I’m a little wary to come back also because of the extremely slow service, but it’s not the waiter/ess’ fault since it’s clearly a busy joint with not enough helping hands. The lamb kebab(item #44) was nicely marinated, and went well with yogurt and pita. Mixed sharma was also very good!

had a hard time identifying the correct restaurant to review! they have so many maroushs all over edgeware road! based on their website this is maroush IV. but on Unilocal it is café maroush. rather confusing indeed. anyways, our initial destination was a persian restaurant along connaught street. but my friends were rather worried about repercussions from the iranian-british row and decided against going there. the alternate was to be maroush gardens but they were not opened yet. so somehow we ended up at café maroush. as it was my friend’s treat i left the ordering to them. we basically had 3 types of dips. 2 of the chickpea variety and one eggplant based. am not a big fan of hummus so cant say very much about it. the freshly baked breads that goes with it was nice though. the eggplant based dip tasted slightly burnt so that didnt do it for me as well. the salad was very fresh and minty. plain olive oil and lemon dressing. then came the charcoal-grilled chicken wings! it was really well grilled indeed. crispy blackened skin with a moist shiny tender interior. then balance the charred taste with a light lemony fluffy foam. the main course was a mixed grill and then a lamb cutlet with fries. but after the heavenly wings, the other dishes just doesnt come close. the fries were well fried but the lamb was a little overcooked. the mixed grill items dont even come to mind. forgettable. service wise was slow. they just opened and were taking their own sweet time dressing up.
