While I loved the Samsung store, I am indecisive and they closed early, and I ended up, on the advice of Unilocal,heading into the nearby Micro Anvika store which was open until 8pm. This has a huge selection of computers (both PC and Mac) and the staff are actually quite knowledgeable, which is a definite plus (in the other stores they often try to sound knowledgeable when they aren’t). I ended up with a pretty sweet deal, with a reasonable discount, and definitely would recommend this store out of the plethora of other shops along the Tottenham Court Road if you are looking for a new laptop.

Bought a Sony VAIO from Anvika, first it was mis-​sold as it had no VGA output only HDMI. I was told it would connect to a PC monitor, it will not.
Spent months and £ trying to get a lead so it would connect to VGA output, eventually found this is impossible. Then when i bought a HDMI monitor it did not work, Sony said now out of warranty. Anvika would do nothing, eventually after threatening legal action they agreed to repair it, but i had to pay transport to them, When I got it back, it was scratched and the transmitter broken. They will not reply to mails just ignore you. Stay well clear of this company.

Reliable but typically arrogant and socially challanged male service.
I don’t think their style of service is unusual in this technological arena. Perhaps because they need geek level technical knowledge they also exhibit classic signs of socialy inadequate behaviour caused, possibly, by over-​online-​gaming in their bedrooms. Bedrooms in their parents homes where they still reside. Only maplins exhibits more extreme forms of this behaviour. Lack of eye contact and doubting responses to your requests that seemed simple but now take on the air of the stupidest question ever posed. At least in anvika their mums make them wear deodorant!

One of the best places to buy computers and electronics, especially if you don’t know exactly what you need and don’t want to haggle. A good range and reliable service. You may well find better prices in the less glossy shops along the Tottenham Court Road, though.

This is the place to go to let out your inner geek. I don’t know what it is about this store but boys can spend hours in here and never get bored. It is cool for about 10 minutes while you see the latest computers and see how small and expensive they are getting. After a stroll around the newfangled equipment i pop over to see the ipod cases and accessories I don’t need and I am done. However if you are into this sort of thing this is a good place to come and check out what is new in the world of computing. The staff are meant to be trained by the manufactures themselves so they should actually be able to give you informative advice instead of just their best guess. Micro Anvika carries a TV and video equipment, cameras, satnav, pda (which does not mean public display of affection anymore), Ipods, computers and all kinds of geeky things. Yes they are the way of the future but are too complicated for me. Give me my Macbook and leave me alone I say.

Before purchasing my MAC computer, I wanted to check around the city to see what my options were. Amid the many electronic shops on Tottenham Court Road, I found Micro Anvika a small store covered wall to wall in the latest and most popular electronics.
They house just about every well-​known notebook brand you can think of, such as Mac, Samsung and Sony. When I was looking for a notebook, I saw a few for as cheap as 300!!! There is also a large selection of desktops, computer software, TV’s, DVD’s, etc.
