Really good quality. Usually not busy but food is amazing. Much better than the sushi restaurant over the road.

The midori sashimi set was fantastic, great quality fish with amazing presentation. I also tried Spider roll which is soft shell crab maki, that was delicious. I’d like to say Midori’s sushi is best in Muswell hill, definitely, don’t forget try the chilli beef ramen and the chicken katsu curry, yummy! Recommend!

Popped in for lunch with a friend yesterday. Mondays are always slightly odd for eating fresh fish, as Billingsgate is closed, so how«fresh» can the fish be? you must ask. it was superb. We had salmon, salmon and more salmon. I’d say the miso soup ain’t great and the green tea tasted like hot water, but the actual sushi… well, that was delicious. I went for the salmon set, and my friend ordered some individual bits. We both went back for more. Presentation is 5* and the quality was excellent. A very worthwhile stop — skip the miso and green tea tho’

We go here a lot and are never let down. In my opinion the food here is the best Japanes/Korean I have ever tasted and is definitely the best type of restaurant in the area. In addition, the lady and her husband are really friendly. The only reason I reckon its not busier is that being behind the bus-stop makes its a bit difficult to get at for some people but is certainly worth a visit. For my money, the dishes worth trying are the crunch roll and any of the bulgogi dishes.

This place looks like a japanese place from the outside, and it is, but its also a korean with a variety of the stalwarts like bulgogi, bibimbap, etc. The sushi is good as well, though it wont change your life. The service is great, and it feels an oasis of calm. Really nice, and extremely welcome on muswell hill where the truly horrific Hi Sushi was until recently the only sushi option, and it saves a trip to finsbury park or golders green for korean. Yaay!

Great sushi. Some of the best I have had in London.

Fresh, inventive sushi in an authentic Japanese setting. We particularly loved the Volcano roll — never quite seen anything like it in London(huge portion, super fresh fish, yummy sauce, presented in the form of a volcano — who couldn’t love that?). I disagree with other reviews re: the prices. This restaurant does not compare with other chain places on this High Street — e.g. PizzaExpress — so shouldn’t be expected to be priced that way. This is extremely high quality fish in ample portions at what I would consider a fair price point.

I was really stoked to see that we were getting a proper Japanese restaurant(we only had a hit-and-miss Hi Sushi up till now). The wife and I tried it and were more than pleased. Midori doesn’t look like much from the outside, likely because the entrance is behind a bus stop. Step inside and the décor is fantastic. They use the exposed walls and vintage furniture really well. We thought it was cosy and classy. They brought us free salad upon seating — a nice surprise. I know lettuce is cheap so it’s not like they were showering us with free tuna, but this small gesture was nice and certainly started us off with a great taste in our mouths. The menu has a variety of Japanese and Asian cuisine. There is plenty of creative sushi plus Korean BBQ, noodles and some interesting entrees. We opted for three different thick rolls. Admittedly I did have a bit of sticker shock at the price(£10.90 for the spider roll), but as soon as they came we were impressed. The rolls were a tad overpriced but generous, the presentation was excellent and most importantly they were amazing — all of them. We had a spicy salmon roll that used green chillies(nice touch), a Spider Roll(soft shell crab) and a california roll — all were great. From there we had Miso Black Cod — the staple dish of Nobu and yes it was just as good if not better. We paired our dinner with a nice bottle of cold sake(they have a selection of hot sake, wine and cold sake). I will definitely be returning to Midori, but as it is a bit more expensive it will have to wait for celebrations and what not. I hope this review helps to sway you to try a great new addition to Muswell Hill.
