Millennium & Copthorn Hotels at Chelsea Football Club

This is the last of the 4 hotels I stayed at as part of a tour group so my room included a hot complementary breakfast.
I liked the hotel for the more spacious elevator and I stayed on the Millennium side of the hotel. They also provided the amenities such as bottles of shampoos conditioner lotion and bar of soap. Shower cap noted.
No down pillows but down blanket. I didn’t notice a coffee maker in the room but the offered bottled still water for free. Free wifi was included as well.

Stayed here for three nights. Very nice hotel with a beautiful 2-​floor lobby.
The rooms were very nice, especially for the price. No complaints there.
Honestly, the only reason I’m not giving this hotel 5 stars is its dining options. The breakfast is okay, but a bit overpriced and the buffet isn’t anything special.
The dinner was not very good (it was a group event, so this was expected, but it was really just not good at all).
Overall, besides the food, this hotel was great and I would certainly go back in the future.

There are mixed reviews for this hotel on TripAdvisor, which I can understand. Our stay for two nights also felt ‘mixed’, with pros and cons, good things and thing that could be better. It would be a fair assessment to say that you probably get a slightly different experience depending on what day you arrive, which points towards inconsistency.
Our room was comfortable and spacious, but not the sort of room you’d want to ‘hang out in’ on a rainy day. There’s a nice three-​star feel to the place, which isn’t bad, but I think this is supposed to be a four-​star hotel. If we were asked to change something, we would change the service, which felt distant and a bit laissez-​faire (not bad, just not special or attentive).
Great location close to the Tube, and there are a couple of nice breakfast places to choose from, as well as decent restaurants and burger joints. Would we stay here again? Probably not, but not for anything we disliked. It was just a bit unexciting for the money.

yeah… grand, not the most comfortable of hotels, I was in a standard twin room and found it small.
The beds too were small — even for singles and not the most comfortable.
However, the internet connection was good and breakfast wasn’t bad.

I attended a 3-​day meeting at the Millennium Hotel and was pleased with the overall experience.
The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff is friendly and anticipated many of our needs while we were there.
For a meeting space, the Millennium loses 2 stars for poorly laid out meeting rooms and horrendously uncomfortable chairs. Nomally I could forigve this, but 30 hours over 3 days made me actuely aware of how much improvement could be made.
I plan to return in the future and experience the hotel based simply on the impeccable service we received during our meetings.

Very clean and friendly. It loses one star because the immediate neighborhood wasn’t anything special. If you walk further into the village in either direction (20 minutes) it is really nice. Lots of nice green space, food and shops. My wife and I took a right out of the driveway and ate in an amazing park (Bishop Park) that was about 1hour walking. I would recommend this with the immediate area disclaimer. Don’t get mad Chelsea fans because if you are a fan, this place is hallowed ground. The hotel is right on the stadium. Good price when there isn’t a match.

Alright, I have to admit that I am very partial to this hotel. First and foremost, it’s on hallowed ground. Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea Football Club. I had stayed here 4 years ago at the Copthorn and this trip I stayed at the Millennium. So, this review is for the Millennium Hotel. One item of note is that I happen to be a True Blue member of the Chelsea Football Club and this did afford me some upgrades because of the membership. However, I did notice that they offer the free breakfast for similar packages.
The hotel itself is very nicely appointed with comfortable beds and amenities. The complimentary breakfast was huge. Buffet style, bangers, rashers, potato cakes, beans, tomatos and a varity of pastries and breads. Eggs were to order. They also include cereals and freshly made coffee with each cup. Many types of juices to choose from as well and fresh fruit to grab for a mid morning snack. Best to get in early for the breakfast, since the dining room is not extremely large, but on the day we couldn’t be seated they directed us across to the Copthorn where we were provided with the same offerings in the 55 Restaurant complimentary as well. Service was prompt and polite. We saved a bucket by porking out on breakfast to fuel our day for walking around London doing all the things we had planned.
Our rooms were turned down each evening and cleaned up nicely for our return. One item of note is that I would definitely bring an alarm clock, since their wake up service is a personal phone call and often it was later then we requested. On the last day, they actually came to our door to knock rather than a phone call, about 10 mins late.
We requested internet as it was part of our package we booked. We had no service for one day, and the engineers took most of the day to fix it. Not a huge inconvenience for us, but it could of created havoc for anyone who was on business and was relying on this service to do their job.
Everyone we came in contact with at the hotel was very polite and pleasant. Another item of note. if you happen to stay at the hotel during game day, be prepared. You are not allowed to «hang out» in the lobby to see the players… that was our plan so that was a bit of a bummer. However if you go across the courtyard to the Copthorn, you will be able to hang and even be able to get an autograph as the players come up from the parking garage. You must be a guest or at least have a friend who is staying since they will not let you in unless you have a key card. At the Copthorn bar I was able to meet and chat with Chopper Harris and Peter «The Cat» Bonetti, two Chelsea Legends who I watch play as a young lad.
I will continue to stay here when I travel to London, it’s has always been affordable to me and a nice restful place to stay.
