This place is great for breakfast. I highly recommend the full English, or if you have a bit of a sweet tooth the american breakfast should hit the spot. The fish-finger sub is also pretty good. Chorizo hash is tasty as hell! Have had mixed experiences with the ribs. First time I had them they ranked amongst the best I’d ever tasted. The second time I had them, the meat tasted ‘off’. However, the manager noticed I had hardly eaten them and offered a full refund.

Came here for breakfast and ordered pancakes. You could taste that the batter wasn’t mixed properly and taste the flour. We got our coffee after our food(?). All in all it wasn’t worth the price

Nice café in the heart of Southgate. This place has taken over the space that was once our beloved Chococcino’s. The new Mojo’s seems vaguely American in orientation, featuring prints of old time American stars on the walls, and a menu that includes American pancakes. We had the coconut prawns, which were delicious, well-fried and a nice, savory-sweet flavor balance. We also got an enormous plate of bangers and mash, certainly more than American-sized. The sausages were gluten free, which made them a bit crumbly. We would have preferred the smoother cumberland sausage. Flavor was good though. Then finally we had a stilton and pear salad, which looked very nice but tasted exceedingly bland. There was a tiny bit of dressing drizzled onto the pears, but none of that reached the salad, so I felt like I was just eating dry lettuce with most bites(and I usually ask for dressing on the side because I don’t like too much on it, so if I think it’s dry, it’s REALLY dry). The plain walnut is a bit flavorless/bitter so that didn’t help the overall flavor either. Compared with a similar salad I had yesterday, this really fell short by a mile. This salad could be improve tremendously with ingredients like a bit of onion for a zing, candied pecans instead of walnuts for some sweetness, more salad dressing, perhaps some endive for crispyness Service was friendly, and the interior was nice. Chairs feel a bit wobbly/unstable, but otherwise it’s a nice café, and we’ll probably come back and try it a second time.
