Worst waxing experience in London ever! I moved recently to the neighborhood and was looking for a nice and not so expensive salon nearby. After reading the good reviews on Unilocal,I decided booked an appointment over the phone, and I specifically mentioned that I wanted to have my eyebrows threaded. When I arrived and was installed in one of the tiny rooms, after no other form of warning, the girl started putting wax on my eyebrows. When I complained and said that this was not what I asked for, I was told that only one employee of the salon knew how to thread eyebrows, and she was away that day, and that I should come back another day if I wanted this treatment. As I had something planned for the night and really needed to do something about my eyebrows, I decided to let her wax them. I ended up with bushy eyebrows, one could barely notice the difference. I was amazed to see that the lady didn’t even use tweezers for finishing touches. I also had my legs and bikini waxed, and though the end result was not too bad, it was extremely painful, and I suspect the lady to have used bad quality wax, as the hair grew very thick and very quickly, as if I had shaved my legs. After only one week I had already hair all over, whereas at other regular beauty salons it’s only after 3 weeks, and they grow much thinner. I’ll never go back and regret to have paid c.£50 for such a bad experience.

My first waxing experience here was not good — one of the most painful waxing experiences I’ve had in 8 years of getting my lady garden pruned. I was tempted to go back and ask for somebody else as the prices are good(£23 for a full Hollywood), and I’m SOGLAD I did. Tessa is friendly, professional, really fast and gives a meticulous finish with as little pain as possible(whoever said a painless wax exists is a Pinocchio). I ask for her every I time. Thanks Tessa!

Cheap and cheerful is how I would describe this place. After being buzzed up to the 1st floor of what looks like a Brick Lane flat from the outside, you’re greeted by some friendly Brazilian ladies who appear to be running this business from a single smartphone and index cards. The rooms are cramped and make you wonder about the cleanliness. The service is excellent, though we had some communication difficulties. My favourite thing about this place is the laminated illustration on the wall showing the various grooming styles one might choose. You would think that pointing would eliminate some of the communication difficulties(I’ll take that one, please), but no such luck. 20GBP, hard wax(not strip), quick service, but I’m not sure I’ll be back.
