The food was extremely good. We ordered bruschettas with Gorgonzola for starter and it was really delicious. For main dish I had the organic beef fillet«tagliata» and even though I am not a «meat person» I loved it. The staff was really friendly and the wine was great. I would definitely go back.

Great little spot on Portobello. Fantastic wine list and a good handful of classic italian small plates. Assorted bruschetta was my favorite! The cheese chunk ap was also the perfect starter. Overall we loved it, just thought it was a little over priced, even for Notting Hill.

Nice wine — service a little Italian. Nice intimate atmosphere. A mix of the Nottinghill locals and a high proportion of Italians. Food looked nice and fresh.

If you’re a fan of Italian wines and antipasti, then head to this place. Don’t compare the price of their wines for takeaway and drink in, it’ll put you off. Just be comfortable in the knowledge that the selection is impressive and the staff are all happy, enthusiastic and Italian, so the whole experience feels rather authentic and charming. Not the most likely choice for an Aperol Spritz, but a damn good one they served and we were lucky enough to get a couple of seats outside, so we could watch the world go by. What better place to people watch, whilst sipping an Aperol Spritz, than Notting Hill? Not quite Florence or Milan, maybe, but good enough for me on a warm sunny afternoon.

This place is really awesome if you love Italian wine. They also have interesting platters, I do sometimes get homesick and enjoy the feel of the Italian wine bar.

Nothing special. The service here was great but I had a bit of a problem accepting that kind of food at such high price. The wine list is good but as stated above way overpriced.

My boyfriend and I dined at Negozio Classica on our last night in London, after two weeks of traveling. We wanted to have a nice end of vacation treat before heading back to the grind. The experience made us all the more excited to get back home. We walked up and were told if we dined outside that we wouldn’t have to wait 45 minutes for a table for two inside. Sure, why not! It was only about 15 degrees C and misty. We sat down and I expected the two ashtrays and cigarette ashes to be wiped off the table. Two servers came by to try to shove a 24 pound bottle of wine down our throats, «NOCORKAGEFEES!» — and silverware and paper napkins were sat down on the plastic table without ever wiping the table. I had to ask that the two ashtrays be taken away, hoping it would encourage a clean-up BUT no. Once the staff realized that we just wanted a glass of wine each, not a whole bottle, since we had an early flight the next day, they didn’t care about serving us at all. There were long periods in between checking on us after that, even though we ordered a starter and a few plates plus wine. Not like long European style dining type waits, just — you’re not that important — waits. Though the server was often outside shoving himself between our table and the next so that he could accommodate friends of the owners and obvious friends of his, even offering to find them space inside since it was so cold out. It was quite irksome. After asking for and waiting for the check for close to 15 minutes, post telling the server we were declining dessert since it was so cold out, we walked inside to pay so that we could get of there to have more wine and heartier food elsewhere. Sure, the food was delicious and the wine matched but when you’re treated so poorly, is that very important?

more like 4.5 stars. Great wines, great location and friendly enough staff. My friend and I had wine and desert. The desert was very good according to my friend. The place has a great vibe to it. The front bar and seating area is more lively than the back. So if you want a more romantic setting ask to sit in the back.

Great local wine café in Notting Hill. Yummy Italian nibbles. Passionate and knowledgeable sommelier who will help you find the best wine for your tastes.

I don’t understand why no one has commented on the absolutely spectacular quality of the food yet. And I also don’t understand why this place isn’t a full-out restaurant in a larger building! Because they don’t have«main meal”-sized dishes, my mom and I made a meal out of the bruschetta with truffle oil, the steak salad, the eggplant«cake,» the prosciutto with mozzarella and honey and grapes, and two desserts. What can I say, it was her last night visiting me in London and we weren’t holding back. I ate so much I was almost sick. Worth it. Everything we had was flawless. Without a doubt one of the best meals of my life. You could taste EVERY ingredient in the eggplant cake, the steak was melt-in-your-mouth quality, everything was beyond fresh, so elegant. And don’t even get me started on how good the chocolate lava cake was. I got the last one. Clearly I was a saint in a past life. And then the panna cotta was literally the silkiest thing that has ever been in my mouth. Awe-inspiringly good. SO. This place needs to expand. And friendlier waitstaff wouldn’t hurt either, but I realize that is almost unheard of in this country!

Like Italian wine? This is the place for you. Designed to look and feel like an Italian wine bar, this is a really cozy place with great service and despite being close to Portobello Road, it has standard London prices. I recommend getting the tasting menu with three wines for £9.95. We haven’t tried the food but it looked really good as well. I will definitely become a regular.

My favorite place to grab a glass of wine in Notting Hill. Their enomatic machine keeps what would be too expensive bottles for glass sales fresh and available. They sell bottles for«off license» as well. A neighborhood gem!

I have walked by this place so many times and noticed everyone sipping on these bubbly orange drinks so I finally had to give it a go and try this place out. Its a nice cozy ambiance and they have two rooms for seating plus some tables outside as well. The spritzer was delightful and a great drink to relax in the evening. Very light and refreshing for a warm summer night. The service left something to be desired and I wish our waiter could have explained some of the menu items a bit better. A lot of the menu items have«cake» in the description which seemed to just mean the ingredients were formed in a cake like shape with a loose texture. The cake we tried had tomatoes, mozzarella, avocados and maybe a couple of other ingredients. It was light and a great dish for sharing. It would have been nice if they provided a couple toasty bread slices for you to spread the cake mixture on. We also tried the mixed crostini platter which consisted of a 2 cheese and 2 bruschetta.

I had a good experience here. Visited on an early Saturday evening and got a few seats at the bar. The wine selection is certainly quite good. They offer numerous varieties by the glass, or you can select a bottle from their shelves, which you can either drink on site or take away. If you want to drink the bottle there Negozio charges an £8.50 corkage fee.(I believe this fee is higher than in the past, based on some other reviews.) Even with this charge, you can still find some very nice wines for under £25 per bottle. They offer some nice nibble options priced between £3−5, and more substantial entrees or platters around £12. On my visit, the waitress informed me that they no longer serve beer. I was upset by this because their website still lists an impressive selection of Italian craft beers. Overall Negozio Classica is a cozy place. With the upscale prices I would only recommend it to people who are quite into wine. I do enjoy wine so I will likely return to this bar in the future.

This is the perfect Italian Eatery and Wine Shop. They dont like to be called bar! Sitting on the corner of Portobello Road and Westbourne Grove this fine establishment is a great place to drink ROSEPROSECCO(Italian Champagne) at afforable prices and watch the world go by. I cannot think of anywhere better on a Saturday afternoon in Lovely London weather to sit and watch the buzz of Portobello Market amusing itself. They provide very good quality Italian Wine, Grappa, Olive Oil, Prosescco and other Italian Deli Delights. The cheese board comes with a selection of Italian cheeses served with Quince Jelly, Honey and different fruit. They compliment each other very well. You can round of the night with a great coffee. I hope we can get more of these in London. ENJOY.

Loved sipping wine and people watching from a table out front. The service was a bit slow, but we weren’t in a rush so that was okay. The bruscetta was awesome, and the olive oil was amazing — fruity and aromatic. If I lived in London, I would come here all the time.

I like red wine I like platters to share I like steamed windows I like fire places I like discovering charming places in Notting Hill… …we visited this place on a rainy Sunday evening. This place is on a corner of Portobello Road. The light is dimmed down and that evening there were not many visitors, which made it even more exclusive and intimate. With the wine bottles throning on the wall from the front to the back of the restaurant this is clearly an Italian wine bar. We shared a Italian platter with salami, parma, humus, olives, an experiment, as this was the first date ever with this man. A little detail appreciated, their wine glasses are big, which makes the taste of the carefully selected wine even more refined. Out of curiosity, I Walked to the very back where I discovered a small fireplace.

This is a great little Italian«enoteca» in the heart of Notting Hill — it is actually a little TOO little, but as long as I can get a seat, I like it that way. Negozio Classica sits on the corner of Portobello Road and Westbourne Grove which makes for prime people watching if you manage to grab an outside table and don’t mind the smokers. There’s a perfectly good wine selection to choose from(or to let them choose for you from) — you can have wines by the glass, buy a bottle to take away or bring your own bottle for a reasonable £6.50 corkage fee. The service can be spotty, but the place is charming in its intimacy and myriad offerings — aside from wine, they serve grappas, whisky, rum, champagne, cognacs and port, make an excellent cappuccino, and on my last visit, I learned they even sell an Italian beer(tiny servings, but strong and poured into elegant crystal glasses!). For the peckish, they have small plates of tasty food — most is the requisite antipasto, mozzarella/avocado/tomato etc but they have a few unique bits as well. Finally, you can buy olive oils, vinegars and other«top of the range» goodies.
