We ordered quite a bit of good for take away and a good variety. We got it home just 2 blocks away and I can honestly say it was the worst chinese I have had. North American food court combos top this establishment. Ended up throwing it away and eating an instant salad from Sainsbury. Yuck!

Chinese food tucked away on a small side street near Earls Court tube. One of my favs because the food is always good and service quick and friendly

I agree with the below comments regarding the deco but the service was super and the food was good! It was much better than I expected, normal sized portions and I will definitely be going back. There was a family of 6 sitting next to me and I could hear them commenting on how good their food was as well. It’s been 3 years since the last review, I am guessing things have improved.

Great service, good value for money, tasty food and a pleasant atmosphere. I will be visiting again when I return to Earl’s Court.

Perfect! This wonderful, romantic little restaurant hosted the best Chinese meal we’ve found in London(in 7 years…). What’s more, the prices are extremely reasonable. The prawn dim sum has to be tried to be believed. Service was friendly, personal but efficient. Simply can’t fault anything.

we stumbled across this place on a Thursday evening by accident looking for somewhere to eat at about half past eight… it was very small … very hidden… and very very good. The restaurant is second to none food wise and is quite good value for money, and well worth the ten minute wait we had. as we had not booked after coming from manchester… still it was a cosy friendly restaurant and the food was probably the best we have eaten although as the restaurant was full it was a good half hour between courses… the food is excellent and absolutely piping hot/freshly cooked(which was probably why we had such a wait), however we cannot fault this restaurant and everyone must give it a try once… well done Lotus Garden it was worthy of a king.

I have been to the Lotus Garden a few times and the experience has always been good. To be honest, the initial impression is not great; it’s a bit dark and dingy-looking. But the service is good, and the food outstanding. The danger with a standard Chinese is(a) tired food and(b) MSG overdose. Neither of these risks featured, as the food was crisp, fresh and plentiful. We had some left over, so a «doggy bag» was packaged up with minimal fuss. Pretty good value, as well.

It’s a real shame about this place. It’s very cute, down a sweet little side street in Earl’s Court. Friendly welcome. Low lighting. Very relaxed atmosphere. All the ingredients for a succesful local Chinese. We ordered the fixed menu, costing £11 each and consisting of two courses. To start, deep fried prawns with a sort of sweet and spicey sauce. Very delicately done. But just two each. Followed by sweet and sour chicken which was delicious and another prawn dish. Two prawns each and two little pieces of chicken each, maybe three. It took about forty five minutes between each course for stuff that really only takes a few minutes to fry up in a wok. When I asked where our food was I was told, rather snappily ‘It’s being prepared!’ The place was only a quarter full. The portions were ridiculously small. I had to go home and fix myself a sandwich… having paid out £11 each plus tip on a Chinese meal. The long wait was inexcusable too. A Chinese dinner should be a feast, even a mini one, not finger food.

Good value/quality chinese restaurant just a few blocks aways from Earl’s Court station. Service is friendly and attentive. Dishes are good and reasonably priced. Great pork and duck dishes. Casual atmosphere, small place which can get busy at the weekends.

Huberts Chinese restaurant, New Lotus Garden, is a must-go-to if you live or visit Earls Court. One minute from the tube, it is small and comfortable and the service is very definitely personal. I moved away three years ago, but on visiting with friends last week, Hubert greeted me by name as I entered! The food is excellent: the Char Sui(roast pork Chinese style) is mouthwatering, he does proper tasty chinese style vegetables in a range of sauces, and the Lo Hun vegetables(tofu) is a dream. We had a range of dishes including those above and Sea Spice Chicken, a perfectly matched sweet Alsace white wine and a second helping of Char Sui. Totally yummy and very reasonable! Well worth booking ahead on a Friday or Saturday night!

The New Lotus Garden is a small, friendly Chinese restaurant tucked away off the Earl’s Court Road. The menu comprises a familiar, if unadventurous, choice of Pekinese and Cantonese dishes, and a decent wine list. Plenty of vegetarian options. Expect a meal for two with wine to come to about £20-£25 a head.(If you want something more interesting for a similar price, try Addie’s Thai Café nearby). A good sign is the regular Chinese clientele eating there. Service is swift and efficient, but as it is so small, you can always get the waiter’s attention if you need it!
