North Nineteen

This is a sort of hidden gem for steak lovers. Interior looks very unassuming, a typical ‘local’ pub. For that reason, I refer to this as «the place with suspiciously good steak.» I’ve heard you have to go to central London to get the same quality, and personally I’ve never enjoyed eating steak as much as at North Nineteen.

Food was pretty good. Service was lovely. But the vibe? Don’t go here if you’re not from ’round these here parts. They’re all smiley and keep to themselves, but they’ll talk shit about you before you’re even out of earshot as you’re leaving. Not that they tried to say hi or anything preposterous like that. I thought I was having a nice, quiet dinner with my husband in a local find – I didn’t know we were being judged by the regulars. Lame.

Now what can I say. This is a absolutely fantastic little pub with some of the friendliest staff you could ask for, very welcoming fun and makes for a great atmosphere.
This place has some really good food too, the ribs are a particular favourite of mine. And I haven’t found anywhere else in the area that does a better Sunday Roast thrn these guys, nice good size portion perfectly cooked meat with roast potatoes and veg.
Definitely one of my favourite pubs in the area.

Until a local friend suggested we meet for drinks here, I had no idea this place existed. It’s really cozy (fireplaces!!) and comfortable. The bar staff is really friendly. The whisky selection looks good, although I didn’t inspect too closely. The mix of customers was really interesting, too, in both great ways and very strange ways. The menu looked good, but we didn’t have anything to eat while we were there. Other tables ordered food nearby and I was jealous, so that’s something. Or else I was just drunk. Could be either.
All in all, a really nice local pub. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there if you’re not nearby, but for anyone in the neighborhood, it’s a good choice if you’re looking for an alternative to the Arsenal pubs on Seven Sisters and Stroud Green.

This place used to be my local and I love it to bits. Remy and Tony are super-​cool, and the food is a cut above. So cozy, warm in winter, always a welcome feeling.

This is the best pub in the area, and yet manages to never be packed! Probably due to having two rooms with ample seating. Decently priced, both in terms of food and drink quality. Excellent selection of ale, lovely staff. Show the football but only in one room. Only downside is they are sometimes booked for private parties at the weekend. This is the best local I have ever had.

Wrapped inside a bland exterior in a charmless Upper Holloway neighborhood is North Nineteen, the sort of cosy family pub and restaurant that deserves to be the center of community life.
The interior is newly refurbished and it makes no effort to simulate period charm — it is unpretentious, clean and modern. The front bar has a large open fireplace and a flat screen TV for the friendly local Arsenal supporters, and a small dining room off to the side. The back bar (go through the gents) has darts and another fireplace. Nine handpumps, three in front and six in back, and a good selection of whiskies as well. The service was notably amiable and efficient. I did not eat here and cannot comment on the food, but I surely would have been content to sit in the bar all afternoon if I could have.

Situated in the hinterland between Holloway Road and Hornsey Road, North Nineteen a friendly, welcoming pub, run by a superb staff who take the time to chat and get to know you, and make a point of remembering you when you come back. They provide an interesting selection of CAMRA recommended, well-​kept beers, a wide choice of wines and ciders, as well as superb menu, which, although slightly more pricey than others, is of excellent quality, and sure to put a smile on your face. The pub itself is split into two, with the front section being more of a saloon bar, and the back more of a comfy space ideal to relax for an evening or a weekend afternoon, with both served by the same staff from one room to another. A firm favourite, and sure to be a hit if you’re in the area with friends, meeting up with others, or just fancy a quiet pint.

Ah now this is a good ‘un. I especially like the thought of a fizzfan walking into the whiskey and ale bar and looking at the row of six ale pumps and contorting his face as he tries to figure out this unusual layout. I haven’t actually been in the front bar yet, but fear not, I am sure there is lager to be found. But back to a proper drink. The ale choices are varied, often including Skinners Betty Stogs, which is an excellent pint.

.not a venue where people go to have spasms to unbearable music. a club that you can join for discounts and special offers. So you can get a pint of one of their lovely ales even cheaper. Might take you a while to get your card through the post though
There is a bar at the back and one at the front. You can get between them via the outside or via the gents. There are a few tables outside.
I’d definitely like to come back. probably to eat too. They do boast of the quality of their food so I would like to determine if it is as good as they believe it is. I did see they have a reasonably priced cheese plate on the desert menu, which always pleases my savoury tooth.
Oh and the landlord has a cracking singing voice. What more do you want?

A relatively recently renovated, tucked away gem of a pub. Hidden in an estate off the holloway road, this free house stocks a constantly changing range of at least 5 real ales at any time, along with an impressive array of whiskeys. Good, food as well, if sticking to the pub standards. Slightly off the beaten track but one of the best places for a good pint in north London.
