Oddonno’s make some of the best ice cream in London, and I am a huge fan of their South Kensington branch. This one would get 5 stars too, were it not for the drab surroundings of Whiteleys Shopping Centre, which bring it down a notch. To be fair it’s not their fault the shopping centre is so lacklustre, but they did choose to open a branch there!

Oddono’s famous natural Italian gelato is slowly spreading from its original South Kensington shop, having high enough quality to be sold in Selfridges Food Hall no less. This branch is on the top floor of Whiteleys shopping centre alongside a lot of restaurants. Perfect for some dessert or a little snack as you wander round The line up of gelato always contains some favourites but they’ve made 130 different flavours over the years, so you may find a guest flavour or 2 on your visit. For me, it has to be sorbets in the summer. I do like the mango and if you ask them, they will mix flavours onto a single cone Good spot for high class gelato

Brilliantly authentic Italian Gelato. Peanut Butter flavour excellent, Hazelnut chocolate absolutely fantastic, highly recommended. Seating area also!

I’m definitely not a fan of Italian ice cream, I find it too soft and flavourless and this one despite all the good reviews wasn’t an exception for me. I tried Nutella and Praline, and both tasted really similar, like cream(that’s what I mean by «flavourless»). However, I gave them a second chance and tried the Forest berries sorbet, that what quite nice. I think most Gelato parlors, if they are good, can make very very good sorbets but not creams(exception: Scoop and Gelato Mio). This is just the opinion of someone coming from Spain. Artisans there make a far richer ice cream(more like Haägen Dazs).

Before I tried thier pistachio flavour I always thought of the pistachio flavour ice cream as being bad, not anymore! Their best ice cream is hazelnut which I strongly recommend. During this winter they are having a promotion for take away ice creams, buy one get one free. But I don’t know how long this promotion will stay for. Thier Gelati is just awesome, natural ingredients, nice creamy texture and real flavours. They sell«Ice cakes«too.
