We are the UK’s ONLY Korean pub. Enjoy the unique fusion of a traditional English boozer with yummy Korean food!
History
Established in 2005.
The Old Justice dates from 1756 and is named after George Jeffrey’s the notorious 17th century Hanging Judge who would often frequent drinking establishments along the Bermondsey riverfront to watch those resentenced to death be dispatched at the gallows at Execution Dock in Wapping. Our pub featured in the pilot episode of the famous 1970’s cop drama series ‘The Sweeney’ with hard drinking detectives John Thaw and Denis Waterman enjoying a tipple in the back bar.
In 1984, Sir James Paul McCartney used both the interiors and exteriors of the pub in his film ‘Give My Regards to Broad Street’. The Old Justice also features in the music video to McCartney’s hit single «No More Lonely Night». The pub remained a very traditional Bermondsey boozer for decades until its new Korean landlord arrived in 2005. His vision was to create a unique fusion of British and Korean culture, Taking the traditional English pub and introducing a full Korean menu as well as table-top cooker.
