Business Owner

Inspired by Japanese food and tradition, Lebanese-​Canadian co-​founder, Oliver Zeitoun, and his family wanted to create a cuisine that transcends the boundaries of culture and country. The Zeitoun brothers come from a long family tradition of olive grove farmers (their last name means ‘olive’ in Arabic — hence the ‘Oliver’). Essentially, Oliver Maki is founded by passion for food and family!

This place is lovely and the food is exquisite, but it’s Sumosan priced. Holy smokes to our bill! Shall I say it?
Ok I’ll say it. £207 for two people. I mean. Honestly.
But the sushi is exceptional, conceptual but delish.
Im a fan, but I dont know if price/​quality/​venue makes sense.

Not your typical Japanese sushi shop, now we are talking — fusion Japanese shop. I was wowed by how creative the chef was, they definitely put their heart and soul into it.
The mains were okay but I wasn’t sure that the dessert was worth it.
All in all, it’s with a try at least once and gotta give props to the chef! :)

If I see Italian and sushi mashed together I am usually a averse to the concept. However, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant.
Expect to pay about £50 for a full meal without drinks. So yes, it’s expensive. Is it worth it? Would I come back? Probably not.
I wasn’t as adventurous as he should’ve been with the yucky sober in truffles, the risotto or the many sushi made with Italian ingredients. I did try the salmon cannoli which was delicious as well as some of the nigiri and gunkans. The spicy salmon maki was mediocre.

One of the best places I have been so far! Ceviche is very refreshing, in the box Bento has its own creativity and it’s actually a very good idea! Ordered volcano maki (6pcs) and also the signature tiramisu

I went to Oliver making on my birthday.
I can now die in peace.
This is sushi at its finest. I mean wow, I was humming throughout the whole meal. Mmmmm … Mmmmm… mmmmmm. Was my answer to everything.
No one got nothing out of me during this meal.
The snow crab sushi was to die for. It was bursting with crab and all sorts of surprises! Just thinking about it makes me want to go back there and kidnap the chef.
Although I must say the Maki maki was a little basic compared to everything else I’d ordered.
To end things I had the matcha tiramisu. Not only was it beautiful it was the nicest thing to ever grace my palate.
Price wise, its not cheap… £18 for 6pieces etc… But it was well worth the price. I can’t wait to go back.

Oliver Maki. makking it up! OK that makes no sense my bad.
I was here yesterday evening to celebrate my sister’s birthday. Great life choice right there!
The décor is modern and yet cosy at the same time. The waiters were beyond helpful and polite! The menu was pretty extensive and there was so much to choose from! If only I had a larger tummy *sigh*.
Anyhoo we decided to pick a couple of items to try. Oyster shooters which were heavenly! And I mean really heavenly! I could feel the halo just growing over my head as I tucked into those! Spicy prawn tacos which were just wow, Snow crab and prawn tempura maki (wazuni) which comes highly recommended! Honestly don’t leave without trying that!, tofu burger maki, the tomato salad which left us wondering what kind of tomatoes Tasted so good… the list goes on…
Everything had tons of flavour and was refined! The least interesting dish was the maki maki .just basic tempura and salmon sushi covered in fish roe but everything else was to write home about!
They could’ve filled their champagne glasses a little higher but I guess you can’t have it all lol. Oh and the money maker had to have been the Matcha tiramisu… WOAH! not only did it look great but it tasted sublime!!! Perfect spot for refined Japanese food in my opinion but not cheap so go prepared to splash some cash: D
