Specialties
Passing Clouds represents and champions the beauty of interaction between diverse cultures and facilitates communication between creative disciplines and community-focused pursuits, in particular providing a platform for musical and artistic expression, conscious education, social welfare and above all, harmony amongst people.
The community celebrates this through daily evening events that consist of film screenings, talks and gatherings in collaboration with local action groups Hackney Solidarity (Mondays, Tuesdays), intimate concerts and recitals ranging from traditional Asian and West African music to folk music and jazz (Wednesdays), live music showcases featuring some of the finest talent touching on genres from every corner of the globe (Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays), conscious cinema and jam session (Sundays).
History
Established in 2006.
Passing Clouds awakened one day in 2006 from the collective consciousness of a number of people in the Dalston seeking peace, unity, creative expression and a sense of community.
Meditations were answered when a premises on Richmond Road became available to them to house what would become a profound journey through the rich cultural offerings of the local area and the wider world as artists and other conscious people became drawn to the project.
