A lovely quiet little pub. We visited the day before Christmas Eve, so was probably a lot quieter than usual. I’ve heard it has some great music on busier nights. The food was delicious, and I really liked the way it was presented on little wooden boards. I had the fish and chips, but I’m looking forward to going back and trying more from the British menu.

They do a free cheeseboard on a Sunday night — what is not to love? The roasts have home made yorkshire puddings and the beer is great. An extension of my living room!

I went there twice so far, both times in the evening. Nice looking pub with live music(loving this!!) Most people in there are locals and it is not a place crowded with hipsters but there is a nice mix of people. The beer on tap is good(i am told) and the bar staff is nice and helpful. Bonus: there is a beer garden: D and part of it is heated: D

Cozy local for North Greenwich pub haunters, the Pelton Arms is tucked into a side street right by the Meantime Brewery. They do carry the London Pale Ale by Meantime, and a selection of about a dozen beers of other makes round out the draught offerings. The limited menu of pub vittles, at a slightly higher price point than usual. Two halves came to £4.20, and the seating here is as varied as it is comfortable(sofas, big plump chairs, benches, etc. There’s a fireplace that looks like it would roar hot in winter. Quiet bunches of conversation, and there are plenty of decorative knicknacks to look at.

The food menu wasn’t as broad as we’d expected and was a bit pricy for pub food. Maybe ten or so beers on tap, a decent variety, and served at what I take is the appropriate temperature and carbonation level for the UK. A locals spot certainly.

We recently stayed in Greenwich and the hotel clerk had suggested a different pub to dine at which was actually closer to the hotel however, when we got there, much to my dismay, they didn’t have bangers ‘n mash on the menu! How is this possible? For my last night in England, I was going to have bangers ‘n mash so onto Unilocal I came to find the next closest pub. We ended up coming to the Pelton Arms and I was heartbroken to find that they didn’t have it on their menu either. What the %#$@? The waitress quickly checked with the chef and thankfully, since he had all the ingredients, he was willing to prepare the dish for me! I’m so grateful that she took the initiative because those were some of the best bangers I’ve had. They were served over a wonderful green onion mash and topped with the typical grilled onion chutney. Absolutely fantastic and they definitely hit the spot! My husband opted for the special of the day, Chilli Con Carne which was incredibly spicy but I always love to see a grown man cry. It wasn’t a crazy heat but a wonderful, flavourful warmth with a kick that hit you a little later on… almost as if it was an afterthought. If you’re ever in the Greenwich area, I would recommend checking this place out. I’m glad we found our way here and a special thanks to our waitress and the chef!

Lovely music pub. Possibly the most English pub you can experience(a VERY good range of ales, and photos from Royal weddings, engravings of Nelson, a Union Jack lampshade, and all. On top of that, this is Greenwich’s home for rockabilly. Get on it.

Greenwich isn’t short on pubs, let’s be honest, but frequently they can be teeming with tourists. To get away from the crowds I love this pub along the river in the east of Greenwich a gorgeous local pub serving comforting food at decent prices, with squidgy sofas, lovely fireplaces, a wide range of ales and wines and some great pub games. Great pub all year round. Good food & beer, friendly staff and lively entertainment with regular live bands. Just had lunch here and it was tasty but a little overpriced for a veggie burger(£8). Cod & chips was a bit more reasonable for the same price. A couple of recommendations for the menu and they would be more choices for vegetarians(NB fish fingers aren’t veggie, as indicated on the menu) and a different fish choice for the fish & chips option(‘Fish Fight’ on C4 has campaigned for a move away from cod). Would definitely recommend as a family friendly, cosy pub on a winter’s day with a real fire. I’ve also been here on a Summer’s evening and it’s a lively venue with a great atmosphere.

This is simply a lovely pub. It looks traditional for a start, then you see the selection of ales from all over the place(listed on a board on one side of the bar, from where you can’t see the pump clips). Which one shall I have to wash down my fairly cheap Fish Finger sandwich I wonder? They do occasional live music and there is a garden hidden away somewhere too. Recommend you seek it out!

A lovely cozy warm and friendly pub. Great when its cold and raining outside with its comfy armchairs and open fire. The beers are excellent and the service too. One of it’s claim to fame was that the re-make of Only Fools and Horses was filmed there.
