Gingernut Media have since acknowledged that my campaign fell well below their usual high standards and as such, have offered me a complete refund of the £2500 I originally invested. I just wanted to go on record and say that I really appreciate this gesture and as such, have updated my review for the business from 1 to 3 stars.

I would SERIOUSLY AVOID using this company for email marketing purely from the terrible experience I had with them (and from what I have heard, some of their other clients have experienced as well)
For my campaign, I managed to negotiate a hybrid cost per impression/​cost per lead deal whereby I paid £2.5k upfront to send out an email to a list of 500,000. I was originally quoted £4.5k (+VAT!!) to send out the email, which thankfully I didn’t choose as I would be REALLY out of pocket.
I thought by negotiating to pay for leads as well as impressions, it would offer Gingernut some incentive to send out my email to their best data sources. I was also told by their sales guy that on a very low average response rate, the expected CTR to a landing page was 4000 clicks, which ultimately attracted me to the deal. Working out the conversion rate on my landing page, I was expecting around 200 leads, which I would have happily paid Gingernut for and if they had delivered that amount, they would have earned a lot more than £4.5k they first quoted.
All was set to be a very lucrative campaign for both of us (I stressed this multiple times when liaising with my campaign managers at the company).
(To cut a long story short)
From my first email sent out to 500,000 people, my landing page received 125 CLICKS (£20 per click for each low quality click to my website — I was OUTRAGED) This wasn’t even 0.001% of the people on the list! So much for 4000 clicks to my site!
To be fair, Gingernut acknowledged this was a problem and sent out two ‘complimentary’ sends, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, they didn’t disclose how many people they sent them out to and both of those campaigns flopped, with only a handful of clicks coming to my site.
The performance of my campaign has left me feeling like I have been ‘scammed’ — hardly the «integrity, innovation and incredible results» that Gingernut state in their staff LinkedIn profiles.
I have well and truly been put off email marketing for good!

I have used Gingernut media for the design and build for three of my companies websites and I have always found them to be very professional on hand whenever i need them.
They have a great in-​house design team and anything they have done for me so far has usually been spot on the first time round. I would have no trouble recommending them.
