It’s not secret that I love Wing Yip. And you would have probably heard me talk about my pre-shop ritual of going to the café. There is a full fancy restaurant with fancy prices literally the next door over that takes over the whole side of Wing Yip– but I will stick to the no-frills café thank you! There aren’t many veggie options at first glance, but so much can be made if you only ask. I tend to get the stir fried Lo Han vegetables on Ho Fun noodles. £6 for a giant plate of food, you can’t go wrong. They also do bubble tea with coconut milk! Woohoo! Although I think there has been a turn around in staff, don’t be surprised to receive legit Chinese service. Sit down, order with in 30 seconds, teas thrown down in 1 minute, and food slung out in under 5 with no pleasantries. It’s terrifying and wonderful, but I haven’t experienced it in awhile. It is usually filled with all sorts of generations of Asian families, so you know you’re eating true. Highly recommended before your shopping extravaganza!

Wow! Did not expect this café to be any good at all… We had come out of the Cinema and were desperate for a quick bite, walked across to Wing Yip to see if they had any Chinese Buns or anything at all. Hold up they had a Café at the side which was packed full of Oriental families stuffing their faces and looking as pleased as punch, we had to go in, glad we did. My daughter and I have had the best Roast Duck Noodle Soup ever. Who would have thought that a Chinese Supermarket would be the place to go for fresh Cantonese Delicacies. Cannot wait to go back with my friend a Classically trained Chef who often cooks better Chinese food than most Restaurants do. I will state here and now that the soup’s that we had were better than what we normally have in Chinatown! Go you will not be disappointed.

This is a go-to local authentic Chinese café that serves a variety of rice, noodles dishes as well as authentic drinks and snacks. Prices are reasonable and u get fair quality food. Service is a hit or miss. People are not particular friendly when it’s busy. My favourite is the honey roast pork (make sure you ask for fatty meat)and won ton noodle soup. They don’t take reservations so if you’re looking to eat here during weekends expect to queue for ages !

Have been going here for years, whenever I need to stock up on Chinese grocery from the supermarket in the same complex. A «Cha Chaan Teng», low-cost cafeteria-stye«tea restaurant» that are very popular in Hong Kong. I think they have the best crispy roast duck and rice meal. Very much better than in Chinatown in the West End and very generous portions, so really good value. Within the café is a bakery, selling all the usual Chinese tarts, cakes and bun.

Very good«coffee shop» style restaurant in the Wing Yip Chinese supermarket complex. They specialise in Cantonese BBQ meats, and things like stir fry and soup noodles. Quality is good. As good as in Chinatown. Very popular with the Chinese community. There is also a Chinese bakery in the café, and they make fresh fruit juices and bubble teas. They will even make special occasion dishes like suckling pig and lobster noodles with advance notice.
