Fun happy hour spot when the weather is nice. Great place to meet clients for a drink and some food after work.

Great for a business lunch. Food is worth the price, attentive staff and if the sun is out, the outdoor area is great.

Located downtown London, you need to go throughout the tavern on the ground floor to access the elevator that will lift you up to the restaurant. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The food is great, we have done their cheddar and bacon burger as well as their tuna and both were perfect. Little pricey but all in all a very nice experience.

Pizza! Those of you who know me are aware of my relationship with pizza. It’s usually a slightly dirty affair involving late night phone calls, code words, a hurried exchange of crumpled bills, and a shameful orgy of the gluttony in bed. Once it a while, I’ll bare all and go for broke in public, but the rewards have to be very very good. After all, it’s surprisingly how many people react with shock, surprise, and a tinge of disgust when a «foodie» orders pizza. It makes me feel a bit ashamed. Anyways, where was I? Ah yes, pizza, the other carb loaded delight in my life. I made it out to Rocket(really just across the street) for a work lunch. After browsing the menu, I figured my slightly hungover self(don’t tell my boss!) could use a pizza pick me up and there was a black pudding and garlic prawn offering. Needless to say, I was intrigued. I mean I do enjoy some black pudding, and I love me some garlic prawns, but together? That just doesn’t seem to fit in my head but hey it’s got green chillies so how bad can that be? I’ve got to admit, I’m still not sure how I feel about that combo. The pizza base was good with the right amount of crisp crunch and soft chewiness. The cheese tasted rich and full although a bit greasy. The garlic prawns could have done with more garlic but were well cooked and the black pudding was fantastic. The only problem? It was a combination of tastes that I liked but they didn’t complement each other. There was also only chilli oil which didn’t help the oiliness factor at all. As far as the place, Rocket is a nice one for a relatively quick sit down meal. The food came out in under 15 minutes. However, be warned the main room is quite loud and hard to talk to more than the two closet people to you. No chance at all at hearing a conversation across the table. The waitstaff are very friendly and helpful and the portions are huge so still overall a win.

Pretty nice spot. Came here with a coworker on a Thursday night and it was NOT busy at about 10pm. The beer selection is terrible, not one thing on draft, but I think Rocket is geared more towards mixed drinks. I saw the bartender doing some good work in the mixed drink department. The bartender, a Czech fella, was pretty nice. The area inside is small but nicely laid out, and there’s a patio outside. Definitely not my kind of place but I could see people enjoying themselves here.

I tend to take clients here more than anything else — its a bit pricey for your own credit card but the food’s really good as is the service. As an American, I think I went here about 3 times before I found out that ‘rocket’ meant ‘arugula’. That said, they do rocket really well in their salads as one might expect. Reservations are recommended, even for lunch. The downstairs area is a bar but the upstairs has a nice seating area. Its got a little of that kind of odd ‘clockwork orange’ thing with some aspects of the décor but that seems like a positive to me more than anything else. Oh yeah and finding this place is kind of difficult. If you map it on google, you’re likely to see this little round ball on the map vs. an arrow — its because the location is secret. Well, not that much but it may take you a few minutes to find it the first time.

Sometimes I wish you could rate different parts of a venue separately, because I feel very harsh only giving this place a 3. Rocket is on 3 floors. There is a bar, then above that a cocktail bar and finally a Mediterranean restaurant on the top floor, specializing in large salads and even larger pizzas. The two bars are so not my kind of place to be. All cocktails, wines and bottled beers and swarming with a bad infestation of suits. The staff are friendly but that’s just not enough to get me to come to these kind of soul free watering holes. But keep on climbing and eventually you reach the restaurant. This is nice. The pizzas are top notch, I can validate that and the salads looked pretty good too(and apparently they were). Their cheapest red wine tasted anything but cheap. I cannot comment on the deserts as no-one had any room left. The price is above average, but so is the quality and the staff are helpful and accommodating. I probably will come back to eat, but will try and avoid the bar bits.

We ate in the upstairs restaurant at lunchtime in the week. Good pizza and efficient & friendly service. Didn’t drink, but the wine list looked sensibly priced. The place was pretty full — we had booked and I think you probably need to. Not amazingly cheap, but cheapish for the area. We paid £15 each for a pizza and a coke each, incl. a decent tip. We did pick expensive meaty pizzas and they are quite big.

I’m always a bit cautious venturing into the city(not my crowd at all) but this is a real gem — hidden enough that it’s not packed(though I was there mid-week) with surprisingly friendly staff, reasonable prices considering the area, great décor and a good atmosphere. The restaurant upstairs was virtually empty when we ate(about 9pm) and served up really good food. The pizzas are great(all in unusual combos that work really well — mine was chorizo and squid, yum) but the salads are also amazing. Don’t go here if you want a classic Caesar though, the one our table ordered was essentially steak and chips with a bit of lettuce; they don’t do things by halves!

A hidden gem in the middle of the city. Really really busy after work but empties out around 9ishpm. The music is great, really cheesy and there is space for a dance. The wine is good value for money for the area and the yummy chunky chips are a must!
