Roof East is quirky and a good use of slightly disused space in the increasingly gentrified and rebuilt land if Stratford. We went for a friend’s birthday in that crossover time of late summer/early autumn. It was rather chilly, and we all noted that some strategically placed heat lamps wouldn’t go amiss in this space as it’s wide open and has no wind breaks. Cash only. An important point to note!(There are cash machines in the shopping centre below). Drinks are pricey, but not terribly so. The space overall is interesting with convertible cars turned into planters, a small garden of potted fruit trees, & a cool shipping container hydroponic garden display. Rooftop cinema hosts film nights on one section on certain summer evenings. There are various games tables also, but it’s largely still an open carpark roof. Staff are friendly and the seating that’s available is nice. A fun place to check out in nice weather if you’re going to be in Stratford, but not really worth a special trip.
