Not suitable for a romantic weekend, but location is great and it’s not too expensive.

Even though the hotel looked pleasant on the website, we were shocked and dismayed with what we saw upon arrival to the UK.
List of findings and observations:
Negatives —
1. bed bugs (we actually saw one with our naked eye — we all got bit by at least 5)
2. dirty bathroom
3. no A/​C
4. barely any light in the room
5. old furniture
6. no kitchenette
7. disorganized management
8. teeny weeny elevator (claustrophobic people stay away!)
9. no assistance with luggage (we had to drag the suitcases in the tiny elevator by ourselves)
10. poor smell
Positives —

It looks nice on the website but…
As the attendant began to check us in, then his cell phone rang, which he answered, and continued on with (what sounded like a personal) conversation for 10 minutes before finishing our check in.
The room was in a basement, and it felt like a maze trying to get out. Smelled terrible too– we requested a new room, which he granted us the next day. Meanwhile, in the dungeon, the hot water was very difficult to turn off and the phone had what can only be described as goo on the speaker. But the room we were re-​assigned to was on the second floor and suited us just fine.
Come with your own toiletries, the only thing supplied is soap.
Breakfast options include toast/​croissant or cereal; eggs are 2 pounds, so is bacon or sausage.
