Royal Garden Health Club and Spa

My job involves settling my clients in Kensington or Sloane Square and I always know I can trust the Royal Garden Hotel for service and quality.
The rooms are fine and you feel you have privacy and you are in good hands.
I can highly recommend the Chinese Restaurant on the top floor and the tea room downstairs (including the lovely rose petal tea).
I have heard from my clients (and found for myself) that the health club and spa downstairs however is unusable. It is a very small area with very limited facilities but intended for use with one of their personal trainers (at an extra cost) to make the most out of it.
The bathrooms in the health club also have a steam room which fully works.
There are other gyms nearby, but please do your research.

Mitten in Kensington, mit Blick auf den Hyde Park, Kensington Palace und der lebhaften Kensington High Street (Einkaufsparadies) vor der Tür.
5-​Sterne-​Luxus der Extraklasse! Tolle Zimmer, überaus aufmerksamer Service, wunderschöné Lobby mit Empore und Bibliothek, perfekte Verkehrsanbindung.
Gut, die Preise sind entsprechend gehoben, aber definitiv nicht überzogen. Hier stimmt das Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis absolut und es ist mir jedes Pfund wert!
Es gibt wenige Hotels, die mich so nachdrücklich beeindruckt haben!

Excellent hotel, have stayed here on many occasions whilst visiting London. Officially 5 star. Spot on location for Kensington area and really one of my favourite locations in London.
average cost is around £175 per night per room (upto 2 people) but also includes as much breakfast as you can eat in YOUR ROOM, so you don’t have get up and go down to a buffet.
Loads of choice on the Hotel menu, both room service and in their restaurants.
Has a car park underneath about £30 for 24 hrs, but I got a better deal the last few times, I tipped the doorman at the front £20 and he let me leave my car right outside on the driveway for 24 hrs. Its now owned by some emirati’s hence loads of lovely lebanese stuff on the menu these days. Next to Grosvenor casino if you like gambling, its about a 15 minute walk from Harrods. The rooms have been upgraded a bit recently and they always upgrade me free of charge to a junior suite (loyalty bonus) which makes the stay that touch better.

I have to admit, this gym visit was an one off, in fact, it was one of those scary dates which start with a yoga class. He encouraged me to go with him to this lesson on that Sunday. I could not believe that I got up for a yoga lesson so early on a Sunday morning. Not to mention that my date would share the same class with me.
Entering the building through the side entrance of the massive hotel block Royal Garden, a lift took you directly into the gym. It seamed much smaller then what I was used to and the staffs were friendly. I even got my own white towel and the atmosphere was meditative.
The Royal Garden Hotel Health Club & Spa is open to both members and non-​members and offers a wide range of health and leisure facilities. I do enjoy having a look at different gyms to compare them and also find out where my favourite classes are.
The Yoga lesson was very intense, as the classes are quite small; the gym instructor has enough time to make little adjustments to the exercises. Of course it was me who she constantly picked on and not enough, it was power yoga and very intense. Still smiling to my date on the other side of the room I was constantly conscious of my red head and bum while trying not to seek too much attention from the gym instructor.
Just that you know — that was the last time I went to a yoga lesson for a first date!

This review is of the fuction room.
Pleasant enough drinks in a low ceilinged room, with a number of pillars around which drinks tables are attached.
On to the room which was fine with pretty good AV facilities for Award films and the like, no doubt the dreaded pwerpoint would be well pesented.
The meal was Ok, Stilton soufflé with an interesting salad offer. Main course of a large piece of chicken, bigger than most functions.
Dessert was a chocalate dish, mediocre.
Wines weren’t brilliant, but that may have been down to selection.
Service was polite and attentive.
Hardly memorable, but wouldn’t stop me going to the right Dinner/​Awards/​Do.
Location just 5 minutes from Kensington High St. tube.

Eines meiner Lieblingshotels in London. Perfekte Lage, direkt zwischen High STreet Kendington und Hyde Park. Mit GLück bekommt man ein Zimmer in den oberen Etagen mit schönem Blick über en Hyde Park und auf den Kensington Palace. Verkehrsanbindung perfekt: Bus und Bahn direkt vor der Haustür. Im Umkreis von 1 Kilometer gibt es unzähöige Restaurants, Pubs, Shops und die Royal Albert Hall.
