The Royal Mail service in general has gone from ok to very bad. Packages do not get scanned anymore, even when you pay sign for. No way to get any claims, no support and no delivery. They are the most expensive postal service in the world and they can’t get any sign for packages delivered or signed. Terrible service, how can anyone use them? Postal fees are increased all the time and with every increase the service gets worst. Get it together people.

Updated review — went to the Royal Mail offices to pick up my package on Saturday and it was finally there. It was a Christmas present that missed Christmas. Took them 3 weeks at point it entered the UK to deliver. Terrible service Royal Mail.

Well, maybe I spoke too soon about the mail service. I’m not going to freak out here about this system, as I’m taking a zen approach to all things living in London(or really, I might lose it)…but, wow. It’s amazing anything gets anywhere! Frankly, part of this has to do with BT(British Telecom) and so I am not holding Royal Mail responsible. December 10th: receive notice that they missed me when trying to deliver. December 11th: request redelivery on their site to my neighbor in N1(receive confirmation it’ll be done December 14th). December 14th: comes and goes. No package(this package holds my key to internet!) December 15th: Devote day to finding out where this package is. Call, email, pigeon carrier. No one can really tell me. So finally I just show up at this office hoping that 1. it’s open and 2. they have my packages. I wait in a que of 20+ patiently. I get to the front and give the woman my notice, and ID(bring 2 forms, by the way)… She brings back two packages and asks me why I only have 1 slip. I tell her I only received 1 slip. Both packages have my name and address on them. She tells me she can only give me one of them. :stare: I think I must’ve looked like I was going to absolutely break down and cry(those thoughts flashed through my head as I conceded that I may be was going to leave with only one package despite being the owner of TWO)…and so by some miracle of the British gods she just gave me both of the packages. Had she not? This may have been a different review. I dont’ think this is the most efficient system. The web site is insane. You have to call to receive information on almost everything that could easily be available online and there is some crazy scheme where you need to pay a few quid to pick up your own mail(still cannot determine why there is a fee)… But, I’ve finally tracked these buggers down and with god as my witness I will get my phone and internet working in the next few days. For the record this is the mail collection facility for N1, London just past the Almeida Theater in Islington. *They have longer opening hours during Christmas(December 10th — December 22nd)…but you won’t find them anywhere on a site or anything, of course. It’ll be written on your«sorry we missed you!» card, if you can find it or they happen to leave it. *they expect exact change if you owe any fees.(I didn’t, but there is a sign). *no dogs, only guide dogs. *do not abuse or bully the staff, there are signs that you’ll be penalized to the max amount. Wonder why this has to be posted? I can guess. Not that I agree with it, but I can see how this system may drive someone to be a bit crazy. My advice? Zen. Really. Whatever is going to happen with your mail is going to happen… so you mine as well just accept it and move on without becoming irate or rude to anyone. Lesson learned: If you aren’t home to collect mail often, have it sent directly to your office or to a place that can safely collect it to save yourself some major headache.
