Runners Need is a tiny little running shop tucked in behind a cycle shop(must use the cycle shop entrance). I popped in on my lunch break and was in a huge hurry. The salesman, David, was very helpful. I explained my problem with my current running shoe, and let him make suggestions. He was very honest and helpful and was very attentive to the fact that I had limited time. After just trying on 2 pairs, I found the perfect running shoe. Without asking, David went and grabbed me the other colour options they had in stock in my size to give me choices. Overall, I had a great experience here. David was very helpful and I found their prices to be very reasonable. I am lucky that my size is usually the display size so they always have options for me. I could see how one could be frustrated with their limited selection of other sizes — but I’m sure they’ll help you find exactly what you’re looking for!

Went here on a serious runner friend’s recommendation, and was not disappointed. Friendly staff, very happy to do a gait analysis on the treadmill and explain what was going on and what it meant. I’ve just started running more, and was going to upgrade from everyday trainers to «real» running shoes — but the guy there looked at my shoes and said that actually they are ideal for what I’m doing, no need to buy new ones. Staff that tell you when you don’t need to spend money? Brilliant.

Ok, so I’m moving from reviewing coffee joints in London to sporting goods stores. Maybe I do have a knack for the strangely odd. Anyway. Runners Need… Hmm. How do I put this store. I’ve been to the Runners Need store in Victoria and the one in Canary Wharf. Maybe it’s because today’s just a hot day out and people are a bit more crummy, but today, at this store, I wasn’t very well received. Grumpy attendants and this store strangely has never any of the stock that I want. If you’re looking for a running store with better service try Suka just south of Oxford Street or the Kensington or Victoria stores close by. So much better.
