Stopped by for dinner whilst in Teddington for a class at The Lensbury Club. First time ever making it to this restaurant(and I’ve been out here a few times prior so not sure how I missed it until now!). Restaurant is small and cozy — nothing fancy. But the food is really good. We ordered two kinds on dumplings and spring rolls for starters and all 3 were so tasty. The house made sauces were fantastic — especially the spring roll sauce which had a slight kick to it. For mains, we had the yellow lamb curry, duck curry, and salmon along with some coconut rice and regular rice. LOVED the lamb curry. So tasty. The duck was good as well but heads up — it was spicy! Salmon dish was ok — probably my least favorite thing from the night but it was still good. And finally for dessert we tried the coconut Crème Brûlée(WOW) and ginger honey cheesecake(another great dish). So if you’re wondering whether this is worth a go, wonder no more! Great food, good prices and nice service.

A ok Thai, but nothing spectacular or above the norm… so I give it 3 stars. Staff service is good and clean place, typical Thai menu items…

Quite a famous place with quite a famous owner which lives up to their reputation. All the dishes were tasting super fresh and were also really nicely presented. The service is great and if I was taking my friends or a partner somewhere it would be this place.

had to try this since seeing it on the F word and wow i can see why it did so well the food is fab and very reasonable compared to other thai places i have been too. we had the set meal for 2 which was 3 courses. the ribs were divine and spicy pork in red curry was heavenly. There are only 10 tables so booking is recommended. They advise that your set meal will take around 2 hours so keep that in mind if you are in a rush. the décor is a little old but remember this is a casual place selling upmarket food, i dressed up but you dont need to.

Thai curry and rice, pretty good, but also nothing extraordinary. However! One item that used to be a daily special, but they’ve had it when I’ve asked even with no sign, is tom yum noodles, with either chicken or prawn. Only £5 for either! Spectacular. Beware the«do you want chillies?» question, which will rachet up the spice level from yeah-I-can-taste-it to ow-ow-but-it’s-so-good-owww. One constant disappointment for me is that they had pandan water on the menu, but they never actually have it. I don’t know whether I always get there after it sells out, or if it just has unicorn status. Service is always cheerful, and they make me feel really good to support them.

Well, a quiet evening, a Tuesday in September. The ambiance could have been improved with a little soft, Thai music. Quite a dimly lit restaurant which had a somewhat sad and empty feel about it on the evening we went there. Menu ink was slightly smudged from some earlier mishap and the menu itself did not have a back cover matching the front — a bit of an apology for the fare on offer. The waiter was somewhat shy and not a particularly confident, welcoming salesman of the menu’s delights. The food was good however — red snapper, caramelised belly pork and king scallops between the three of us. Worth trying these chef’s specialities. An inexpensive, perhaps limited and uninspiring wine list. The waiting times between courses was acceptable and the speed with which the waiter attended to us, clearing away dishes, was up to standard. The pineapple, rum and vanilla iced cream dessert(the only dessert tasted) was slightly disappointing in that it lacked a distinctive flavour or character to be remembered at the end of a meal. Service charge, 10%, added automatically to the bill. Accepted, but not added to. Overall, I would go back there for the quality of the food, in spite of the somewhat muted character of the establishment. Maybe a Friday or Saturday would excite more.

This is customer service at its very worst, all thanks to the disgraceful attitude of the bullying owner, Patria. The problem with the owner in Simply Thai is that she has appointed herself the owner AND the head chef. Any normal person may foresee some problems with this, but for her it isn’t a problem because: She is happy to let her customers wait an hour in the freezing cold for their food so that she can take her time She will repeatedly ignore any requests to do anything about any issues that may arise and let her incompetent staff attempt to deal with the situation And finally, should a customer dare give criticism even in the slightest form at the end of the meal she can always BELLOWATHERCUSTOMERS in a threatening and abusive manner. We will never be visiting this restaurant again.

I am shocked and appalled at being hung up on the phone when I tried to call up to book an appointment! i called up and asked to book a table around 8pm and i was verbally abused by a woman who informed me that there is only one at 6pm and if i do not turn up at 6pm on the dot i am holding up other people… very strange customer service approach! if she had only given me a chance to speak i would have taken the table, and when i asked her why she was shouting at me she just screamed ‘nevermind’ and slammed the phone down! Don’t have any desire to ever go to this restaurant now… seems that the publicity has gone to their heads a little! if it was soho or something i would understand, but this is teddington, come on!

I, like many others, decided to try this place because it won Best Thai in Gordon Ramsey’s The F-Word. Also because I work comparatively nearby, so why not? Simply Thai is a little far to go for someone living in central London. It’s less than ten minutes from the nearest overground station, Hampton Wick. The restaurant looks nicely posh from the inside though lighting was a bit weird, with some lights being turned off midway, and other lights being turned back on. The food was excellent. Easily one of the best Thais I have eaten in London. The sweet spicy pork loin was fantastic and the mango sticky rice were incredible. The duck curry which my friend had was really good as well. Service was friendly, and got rather slow as the restaurant filled up. It looked as if there were only two waitstaff, and chef Patria herself came out to help with the serving(prompting us to wonder what was happening with the cooking). The prices were a little on the high side given the area. £25 per person(three-course meal and one soft drink inclusive of service) but comparable to the other great Thai places I have eaten at in central London. Reservations are essential.

SERIOUSLY… Anyone who hasn’t given this place a try you are fired! The best thai(according to Gordon Ramsey!) in London and it is found in little teddington, they even do take away and offer discounts for big orders! They do a KUNGPOW dish(i think) which i one… YESONE prawn, bigger than my foot! amazing. If you fancy something different from the usual chinese, indian or pizza, this place is for you!

From the time we left the house until the time we finished our meal, this was destined to be a great evening out. My hubby chose this restaurant for his birthday celebration on the basis that he’d seen it featured on the«F Word» and had won the best Thai restaurant category. In the couple of hours before we left for the restaurant, we watched a replay of the semi-finals as a warm-up — definitely worth a watch. My hubby made the booking this morning and was highly amused that the lady on the phone sounded just like Patria who was featured(it was actually Patria!!!); later when I rang through to amend the booking, I also spoke with Patria — it added to the homeliness of the place, almost like going to eat at a old friend’s place! One moment of awkwardness when we arrived with a Men in Black-esque chair scraping in an otherwise silent restaurant and then we settled into chatting and ordering. We tried a range of dished between 4 of us. My recommendation would be the dim sum starter or the chicken satay(quite possibly onenof the best satays I’ve had) and the red snapper main. Unusually for a Thai restaurant the spiciness was not overpowering. I think could happily have eaten the rice cooked in coconut cream all night — beautifully cooked and fragrant rice! Mmm… I found the staff very pleasant and upfront(telling us when booking the table that they needed it back by 8.30 and asking us to pay the bill while having dessert to make things a bit more efficient rather than not offering us dessert at all). Definitely book a table in advance — many people who came in off the street were turned away as the restaurant was fully booked, without any opportunity to wait for a table. Really fun evening and tasty meal. I only wish Simply Thai was closer to my house!

only £3.30 for a small box of delicious green chicken thai curry. I wanted to sit in it. this was my first time to exmouth market when all the vendors were there, and my friend, Kieran, recommended I go to the simply thai van(which sounded weird, thai food… from a van?) but it was perfect. It wasn’t that spicy, so if you like spicy thai then this might not be for you, but it was perfect for me. There was so much food in my lil take away tub that I couldn’t believe it was so cheap! then we went to the little park around the corner and had a heavenly little lunchy.

OOOhhh, pretty good this one. I had a really good chat with the manager whilst I was eating. He was really friendly, really enthusiastic and really knowledgeable. Communicated the fact that if you make food honestly, with pride and integrity, the peeps gonna like it. And they queue almost round the block. It’s a stall selling very nice Thai food. He stressed, not fusion, real authentic Thai food. They have a simple menu of 8 dishes and a special. And I believe they’re all very good. A bit too much meat for my liking — one vegetarian option. But the prices are reasonable, and it is very good. The queues start forming at 12, the earlier you get there, the quicker you’ll eat.
