Like Yee Gan, I’ve always wondered why it is called Soccer Scene. I recon it’s just for alliteration purposes. Football Scene? Football Focus? Surely there is a more accurate name, but then again, maybe they are aiming for the tourist customer! Everything that they do here they do well. From replica shirts to name application to the back of said shirts, balls, key rings, DVDs, mascots, they will have what you want. Especially if you are visiting and want to take a friend or relative, a keepsake back of their favourite UK football team. The staff here are pretty well clued up. I would definitely say they are a step above your regular JD Sports muppet. Fairly upbeat and full of knowledge, I’m sure they will direct you to exactly what you need in a relatively short amount of time. The prices here are definitely on the top end of the range. But then again, maybe you have to pay this for the most authentic replica shirts. Just as a side note, you will be able to get football staff at the nearby Lilywhites or Sports Direct branches. All around, if you are looking for a knowledgeable, well-stocked football-based shop around the Oxford Street area Soccer Scene must be on your list. Just watch out for those prices!

Erm, soccer? In the UK, we call if football. All other forms of foreign football — American or Aussie Rules — must use the prefix before the word football please. This outlet on Carnaby Street sells football shirts from leagues all around the world. I popped here to get my cousin’s son the latest Man United top about 9 months ago. They can add names and numbers to the backs of shirts, which takes about half an hour. There is a good choice of shirts but the prices aren’t the cheapest. Down to 3 stars because some of the letters started to come off the shirt after 8 months.

I’m only giving this 3 stars as I’m not a sports /footie fan, however, if you *are* a fan then this place is your mecca! There is literally *everything* here for a football fan. You can get football strips from teams in the UK, Europe and around the world, toys, footballs, key rings, DVDs, posters… I found this place very handy one year when shopping for my boyfriend. He’s a Celtic fan(Scottish team) and, obviously, it’s hard to come by a Celtic shop in London! However, they had quite a lot of Celtic stuff here and other paraphernalia from other Scottish teams. This place is on Carnaby Street, a great location for tourists and football fans alike. If you’re a footie buff then get yourself down here, you won’t leave empty handed…
