I’ve been here twice. Both times as the photographer for gallery opening after-parties. I have no idea how the studios, lighting and set build services are. But I can say this is a swank place/stylish setting with a great, long bar, comfortable seats, prompt friendly cloak room(pathetically this is something that’s becoming more and more a big deal for me) and — most importantly — some of the best PIZZA in London. Yeah, seriously, they do up a proper light crispy wafer-y crust pizza here with a range of toppings and cheeses. I was impressed. If you’re not familiar with the Kentish Town area, Spring Projects may seem a bit out of the way and well off the beaten track. However, it’s a brilliant space and just a short walk from Kentish Town Tube and West Kentish Town Station(and not all that terribly far from Chalk Farm).

Spring Studios is a large studio hire complex based in Kentish Town, North London that attempts to cater for your every need on a shoot –catering, digital hire, lighting hire, production, prop design… they even have a bar upstairs where the crew can go and have a drink after the shoot has wrapped. As amazing as Spring Studios are– everything is very slick– there is a certain arrogance about the place and the people that run it that annoys absolutely everyone that ever uses it. The studios are all excellently equipped but I find it very annoying that they charge you extra for bringing in your own lighting and digital equipment. The food is incredible– they change their menus everyday but if you ring in advance they will pretty much cater for any type of diet/preference.
