St Bride Foundation’s meeting rooms can accommodate boardroom meetings from 4 people to 30 people and conference and events up to 150 people. Our Bridewell Hall and the connecting Farringdon Room make it the perfect venue for a wedding reception. The Bridewell Theatre hosts both lunchtime and evening performances including dance, opera, musicals and plays. And the St Bride Library houses the history and practice of printing, the graphic arts and remains the cultural and technical centre of the printing and publishing trades. Whether you are visiting for work or play, the Bridewell bar can always be made available for a post event drink.

St Bride Foundation is a charity established in 1891 to serve the educational, social and cultural needs of Fleet Street and the local area. It provides a stimulating, community environment that creats a focal point for encouraging and developing everyone’s potential through a broad range of activities.

I have now been to two performances at the Bridewell Theatre and both times I thoroughly enjoyed the fringe-​theatre atmosphere: it’s not an impersonal theatre-​experience where bored ushers show you your way to your seat, but this is a full-​on community-​run experience, where passionate people will make sure that you have a good time.
The last performance I saw here was «Zanna Don’t!» (produced by Centre Stage) and this time the community was definitely a very gay one — in the truest sense of both of this word’s meanings. In fact, I felt like I was back in the Castro Theatre in San Francisco… so many sisters! Wonderful…
I also made a mental note that they offer Lunchbox Theatre: «It’s a great opportunity for you to leave your desk and enjoy a bite of culture with your lunch. You can bring your own lunchbox or you can buy sandwiches, snacks, coffee or beer from our Café Bar. Performances start at 1pm prompt and are about 45 minutes long.» (as stated on their website)
