St. Ermin’s Hotel, Autograph Collection

So far really disappointed. My room was not ready on arrival, though I had asked for early check in. They cannot possibly be that full. I paid in advance, but would change hotels if I had not. I travel around the world and this is one of the most disappointing experiences I have had in years, and I have not yet even seen the room. Ugh.

Great gym, perfect location for quick sightseeing. we got a free upgrade to a suite and the bed was fantastic.

A bit expensive but then again it’s London so expect to pay a lot anywhere in this area. The entrance is very cool especially at night. The room I was in was a decent size as was the bathroom. The rooms were new and modern which made it seem like they’ve been recently updated within the last few years. The hotel is in a good location. It’s a block away from the St. James Park tube station. It’s walking distance from the House of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, etc. They have a restaurant and room service which I didn’t have the opportunity to try. The front desk and every employee I interacted with was friendly and professional. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 7 nights and had a wonderful time. The location is great and St. James tube station is right around the corner. They have one of the best concierge teams I have ever worked with. Juan was especially helpful and assisted me almost everyday is securing tickets for anything we were planning (usually at a better price than I could find online). You will notice that the breakfast buffet is pricey but there is a great little café close to the Hotel. When you exit the Hotel, go to the right for one block to Buckingham Gate Rd. Right again and on the right side (across from St. James Court/​A Taj Hotel) is Royal Quarter Café. Breakfast for 7 – 10 Pounds and about the same for lunch. You can then walk 2 minutes to Buckingham Palace!

I stayed here for 8 nights and the first two nights were quiet and relaxing. It went downhill from there. The smell of smoke is always flowing from the people smoking below my windows and I am on the third floor, even with the windows closed.
One night the smoke alarm was activated because I had the window opened and the smell of smoke came into the room. I got concerned and called the front desk. Had to called twice before someone finally picked up. The receptionist said she’ll call back but never did follow up. Disappointed customer service.
Other things that made the stay unpleasant are: People down the hall and above my room keep slamming their doors. It smells like febeeze on the bed. The vent cover is starting to fall down. One window wouldn’t close all the way and it gets very cold at night. You can hear every step the room above makes.
Would not recommend this hotel. Could get a better hotel elsewhere for the same price.

Opulent, palatial, immaculate! The hospitality of this hotel was over the top from day one (stayed for three nights). Very attentive staff – always assisted me in directions and assured the neighborhood was safe. Elevators are a bit narrow, but it’s Europe! Everything is more compact compared to the states. Had a room with two doubles and the beds were very comfy.
In room dining was impeccable since they have a delicious grill restaurant located inside the hotel. I ordered the average breakfast… poached eggs, toast, fruit salad. The kitchen states it would take about 25 minutes to prepare, but it would always come up sooner. Also ordered salmon for dinner – salmon was flaky and cooked well. Just needed lemon to top that off (didn’t bother to ask for it).
Location is only a five minute cab ride from Victoria Station which made it very easy (and cheap) to have our luggage put away and start exploring central London. Next to St. James tube station which was also very convienent. Ten minute walk to Westminster Abbey/​Big Ben/​House of Parliament.
Also, I checked in via Unilocal and got a free Amaretto Sour from the bar! Their bar is very upscale with cute bartenders!
Such a wonderful hotel!

I was invited (I went with someone who was there for work) and I definitely wouldn’t pay that much myself, but I can’t deny that I had a wonderful experience.
Every single member of the staff was very friendly and efficient, the hotel is beautiful, and I loved the food (breakfast and bar). The rooms were a bit noisy around ¹⁰⁄₁₁ pm (it seems the noise came from the kitchens).
It’s also right in the center of London, a few minutes away from Westminster, St James’s Park, the Thames, etc…

Have stayed in this hotel a couple of times and both times have been fabulous!
It is right in the heart of Westminster, a short walking distance away from several of London’s major landmarks (Buckingham Palace, London Eye, House of Parliament and Big Ben).
The hotel lobby is very elegant whilst hotel rooms are spacious and well equipped. The staff are always exceptionally welcoming and friendly.
The attached restaurant the Caxton grill is great to go for a cocktail or to enjoy a delicious upscale meal. There is also a lovely terrace for afternoon tea in the summer.
I hope to come back here again soon!

I give it 2 stars because of the staff, they are very friendly and helpful. The reason i gave 2 stars because of the rooms, they are small, no place to put
Clothing, had to live out of a suitcase. The bathtub is very high and dangerous, I almost fell getting out of tub

This is a terrific hotel. The staff is lovely and efficient. The property is immaculate. Great location within 15 – 20 minutes of everything and the Victoria Station tube is a few blocks away. It also is a charming beautiful hotel. The junior suite we had was lovely and very quiet. Room service was fast and correct. The Nespresso machine in room is a nice touch and the Internet was fast. Buffet breakfast was lovely, vast and pretty high quality. The bar was small yet quaint. Servers were accomodating and very personable. Concierge service was very helpful. I have stayed in dozens of Marriots all over the world and this autograph property had the boutique feel of a very special place.Mr.Christoph the general manager went out of his way to insure a terrific stay.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

I’ve stayed in this hotel a few times for work and as much as they to they can never seem to get it right. It’s ok, but the little annoyances add up over time and depending on how discerning your taste and travel style are — you may want to skip it.
Annoyances:
1. The walls are paper thin. You can hear conversations in the hallway. I asked for a quieter room and they offered me one on the courtyard — where cars drive in. Still not sure how that translates to more quiet.
2. The doors have no slam stops so when someone allows it to shut from behind them it is LOUD. If it’s one of your neighbors your wall hangings will shake. If you’re extra lucky to have one near the maids closet like I did the first time, forget about sleeping in. Truly, this may be the worst thing I’ve ever experienced in a hotel and I travel for work 30 – 40 weeks a year globally. Don’t expect to have a work call from the hotel.
3. The elevator speaker is LOUD. Like beyond human comprehension loud. Elderly friendly?
4. The scent when you walk in is so strong that if you have any allergies or sensitives or a headache — God bless you, that’s the only way you will survive. It also smells quiet bad to me but I’m sure someone thinks it is a nice scent.
5. There are no free bottles of water. This might be venturing into greedy territory but I have just come to view this as standard, particularly in a location where folks have gotten off a long flight.
6. I’ve yet to see them get a room service order right. It’ll be close but don’t expect perfection.
7. Ice machines working is ⁵⁰⁄₅₀.
8. If you like a bathroom with water pressure — don’t stay here, or beg for a room that has the remodeled shower (they’re hard to come buy in the corp rate category)
9. New during this stay are the bugs in my room. Like fruit flies. I have no words.
All to say — good luck. I have to leave now because the door slamming is driving me crazy.

Great location. Walking distance to almost every major tourist attraction in Landon (I like to walk).Very good service. Rooms are pretty big and very comfortable bed. I’ve been in London several times, so far the best hotel.

Great hotel near Westminster and Buckingham. 2 mins from the Tube.
Check in was a breeze and the deluxe room was a good size. View was of New Scotland Yard which is pretty good given the location of the hotel.
Breakfast was a welcome change from the traditional English.
Would definitely stay again.

Gorgeous, historical property right in the thick of everything!
We stayed here with our infant son last year and I would highly recommend. We were given a room right off the lift and due to its location, it was one of the bigger rooms, fantastic when traveling with kids as London rooms are notoriously small. Gorgeous, modern bathroom, very friendly staff. We enjoyed sticky toffee pudding from room service almost every night!
It’s close to the tube, there’s a drugstore around the corner and walking distance to the tourist area – Big Ben, parliament, Westminster Abbey, etc. It did feel further away and it was nice and quiet at night!

I’ve only stayed here for a night.
Pros: Fancy lobby, kind staff, nice marble bathroom, good location.
Cons: Their regular room with queen bed was really small, probably common in the area
Overall a pleasant stay

As my friend Fortune Cookie would say, this hotel is baller. I have no idea how I managed to snag a good deal on a London hotel in the summer, but I am quite happy St. Ermin’s exists. Keep in mind that the British pound versus the American dollar is two to one such that for every 100 dollars I had, it was only 50 pounds toward the daily rate. I needed a reasonably priced place close to everything since in addition to not wearing my mother out walking ten miles a day, I also did not want to blow a hole in my bank account. This place fits that bill, since hotels in that area were easily fifty to a hundred more pounds a night and it is mere blocks from Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the St. James Park tube station, the River Thames, the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament and the London Aquarium.
The rooms were not the smallest I have ever encountered in a Western European hotel but if you are expecting something the size of a two-​bedroom apartment, that is not happening. Regardless, it was a good place to sleep, watch the news and store our clothing while we hit the pavement. Check-​in and check-​out were easy, wifi was free if slow and the staff was pleasant enough, although they tried to hold back their laughter when I escorted my mother into the hotel after a day of running her ragged through a handful of museums, a royal palace and royal parks. Overall, it was an extremely positive experience and should I return to London, I would easily stay here again.

Good location for tours of Parliament Abby, Big Ben and the War Office Churchill museum do not eat at restaurant at breakfast way overpriced other than that good service and good location. The front desk ladies are very friendly and also very good-​looking. Must add one final commentary– The concerige, Tony walked a half-​mile to train station with carrier luggage due to Queen Elizabeth opening parliaments on the same day we were heading for France, we were in no vehicle loud security zone for our mile and a half perimeter outside Westminster Abbey and no cabs being allowed into the hotel. Also Eddie and the rest of staff bell staff were super cool. Not what we expected from a Marriott Europe boutique hotel. Would deff recommend again. On a different note the front desk and reception are not friendly at all in comparison to the rest of the staff, Mr. Al-​Haydari was very polite and upgraded our rooms to better views with larger commendations for only 50 pounds more.

Check in
The check in process was smooth. I arrived early but my room was not ready so i left my luggage with the bell boy and started exploring.
Room
The room is small but has a very modern feel.
Location
Great location. The hotel is near Big Ben, Westminister abbey and the Coca cola eye. It is also very close to the royal place. very safe neighborhood to walk around at night.
food
i did not eat at the hotel but there are great food options nearby. do not try starbucks if you are american. try a local café or shop. you are in london for a reason.
Overall
this is my first stay at an autograph hotel and i was impress. would definitely recommend.

Beautiful hotel!
The staff is amazing everyone was super friendly and the rooms were impeccable. Also the fireplace in the lobby was super cozy during winter time and the hotel looks some auto full inside and out. Located walking distance to all major attractions. Simply a great hotel.

We came here for 3 nights for our vacation. The location is pretty good for sight seeing, buckingham palace, Big Ben and Westminster Abby, St James Park all 10 min walk or less. It’s about a 20 min walk to the soho area with many bars, shops, and restaurants.
The customer service is pretty all the staff is friendly. If you are a rewards member there is no concierge lounge but they comp your breakfast. The breakfast is fairly basic all buffet style nothing to rave about.
Very nice ambiance and pretty big hotel. I am a platinum rewards member so I was given a code for premier Internet access however the code only works for 24 hours than you need a new one. They do have free wifi as well. Both wifi signals were weak in our room which was a pain.
Great stay overall though and I’ve stayed at over 25 marriotts in the past year.

A pretty solid option and if your planning on doing tours of Parliament or the Abbey then this is a great location for you. If your planning on shopping then you would do better to book closer or in Mayfair.
I was delighted on check in, and «checking in on Unilocal» to find that I would get a free cocktail in the bar. Well it would appear that NO ONE in the hotel knew of this offer and or how to redeem it. The front desk called the bar to explain but by the time I got to the bar, the bartender Peter was in a full rage. I did eventually get a free small glass of wine but the whole experience was VERY off putting.
AS for the hotel, rooms are small but nicely appointed. The Gym has new equipment and the buffet breakfast was also very nice. I would suggest management remove the offer for a free cocktail. I am sure the initial idea was a good one, but it has had quite the opposite result.

Solide vier Unilocal Sterne. Die Lage ist super, gleich bei St. James Park. Optisch ein Highlight, sieht echt toll aus wenn man Nachts auf das beleuchtete Hotel zugeht. Die Zimmer vereinen English traditionellen Style mit moderne. Mir gefällt hier, dass das Hotel toll zum Eindruck von London als Stadt passt. Nicht perfekt, aber es hat seinen eigenen Style. Typisch englisch sind die Renovierungsarbeiten nicht perfekt durchgeführt, aber wen störts, lieber Flair. Der Eingangsbereich ist echt imposant.
Dieses Hotel ist deswegen toller als diese modernen Alleweltshotels weil es nicht so austauschbar ist. Preislich halt typisch London, also rechtzeitig buchen.

Great location and nice entrance, finishes to a high standard, but lacking in other amenities.
Close to St James Park, Buckingham Palace, the shopping district around Regent/​Oxford street and very convenient to Westminster, London Eye and Big Ben– you can’t beat the location.
Service was ok, but not up to the standard of a top hotel. We stayed in a ‘superior’ room, which felt very normal– smaller size room, no bathtub, no biscuits on the tea tray (it’s the small things that count!).
Breakfast was very nice and fortunately included in our room (as £24pp would have been a lot to pay). The gym and bar are both small, so we found ourselves heading out to find other areas to relax and grab a drink.

I had a recent stay here which was a mixed experience:
The PROS:
–Decent location, close to the St. James tube stop
–Rather comfortable rooms and beds
–Free upgrade for a gold member (I hate to think how small the non-​upgraded room was).
–Nice toiletries in the bathroom
–No exterior noise.
–The lobby and furnishings are very tasteful.
The CONS:
–Tiny rooms that don’t have the best layout.
–Some serious elevator issues… all but 1 tiny one were out.
–The rainforest shower could really use a handheld wand as well.
–Not impressed by the breakfast. Pretty sad buffet with mixed service.
–Front desk staff are just cold and clinical… very transactional, not personal. Also seems a bit over-​the-​top financially… explicitly requiring you to authorize a 50 pound allowance with your credit card… not friendly.
–Loud from the inside. I could hear lots of comings and goings outside my room.
Overall, while it was a reasonably nice stay, it was in no way worth the 199 pound going rate. I didn’t really leave terribly satisfied, but it was perfectly adequate.

Mon dernier séjour à Londres fut une merveille, en partie grâce à cet hôtel!
Situé près de New Scotland Yard, avec une station de métro à 2 min à pieds, on rejoint facilement le centre.
La déco du hall d’entrée peu sembler un peu ‘rococo’ mais perso j’ai adoré! La salle de bain m’a semblé un peu petite mais tout le reste était impeccable, beau, propre et soigné.
Personnel sympa et wi-​fi gratuit :) je n’ai pas testé le petit déj à l’hôtel parc contre je me suis posé dans le bar cosy, un cocktail scotch/​vanille, vraiment pas mal!
Attention, n’est pas accessible à toutes les bourses… un très beau cadeau à s’offrir!

I was in London when this hotel was part of Nh Hotels, it was a really nice experience. Very big rooms and so good prie. Now i have no idea about how is it. but i hope they still in the same way.
